LED Ring Update & Mystery Song Competition!

A quick update on the LED ring project. Brace yourself for a tale of misery and improvisation.
Also, there's a competition with real prices of very unreal value!
Mystery Tunes:
#1: Instrumental synth-pop. I know it from between 1980 and 1984, but can't recall the name.
#2: Instrumental synth tune. Must be from before 1980.
#3: Synth pop (with lyrics). I heard it between 1999 and 2001. The riff is very distinctive.
Terms and Conditions:
To enter, identify down in the comments any (or several) of the mystery songs played at the end (04:34).
Valid entries identify the name of the artist and song title (and/or video link). For each mystery song, the first to identify it is eligible to win a price (3 prices in total).
The competition ends if all songs have been identified, on 1st of December 2018, or when I say so.
First and runner-up prices are randomly assigned to whoever has identified a mystery song by the time the competition ends.
I have the final say in all matters related to the competition. I've got the power! YES!!

Unfortunately, it isn't. It's more a synth-pop tune à la Petshop Boys or Human League. Don't rely too much on my dodgy rendering. The riff is very distinctive, though.
