    Not sure about the maroon paintwork, but I love to see modern engines with bells! Nice touch.

    Thought fire trucks weren't allowed to have forward facing blue lights in New York

    • @LowHudEmergency
      @LowHudEmergency  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No emergency vehicles can have forward blue according to the traffic code, but it isn't very well enforced and it seems to be becoming increasingly popular.

    Nicely done! My grandmother lived in the house across the street for a very long time. I grew up watching their older Seagraves, the Macks and Sutphen. I would always be at the front window or visiting the guys. The smell of my grandmas homemade chicken cutlets and sirens, even when they had the firehouse horn too. Lots of great memories but I’m sure it’s different now, in some ways at least. Thanks for sharing!

    Ooowwwie these have to be some of the nicest apparatus I have ever seen! How busy are these guys?
    I'm back in NYC later this year and there's train right to this station, wouldn't mind giving them a try.

    • @LowHudEmergency
      @LowHudEmergency  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately they aren't all that busy and I wouldn't recommend sitting there if you have limited time. They average a call or two per day usually. There are definitely some busier departments in the area though if you are looking to escape the City for a little while when you're here.

    • @lemonshuh6340
      @lemonshuh6340 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@centralnewyorkresponses7887 Yep. In Harrison E13 and the Truck are staffed by career firefighters and handle most of their calls. Volunteer chiefs and firefighters come out when they can. Same as most combo departments in the area.

    • @centralnewyorkresponses7887
      @centralnewyorkresponses7887 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lemons Huh Harrison seems like a nice village. Going on with my city, the trucks are not completely filled unless the volunteers are at the station and have their gear. Station one has 3-5 people on it per shift. Depending on if they’re staffing the fly car or if the engine is running EMS calls. All depends on the captains wants. If they’re not staffing the fly car it’s just 3 people and all 3 are on the engine. The rescue is not staffed. Either the fly car people will hop on it, take a guy off the engine, or have volunteers or off duty members take it. Station 2 houses truck one and engine 3. Truck one is staffed by one person and that is the driver unless volunteers are doing ride time. Engine 3 is staffed by two people unless volunteers are doing ride time. At station one we have engine 4 and engine 2. Engine 2 is the reserve engine and is used by codes. If needed volunteers can respond on that. Truck 2 and engine 1 are both at the armory as reserves. The armory also stores the water rescue truck, the boats, the fire police vehicles, the HAZMAT Trailer, and the box alarm truck. I have videos on my channel of them all. Well all except the specialty vehicles.
