Best comment I've ever heard from a reactor: "They don't stylize their voice, it just is." I've also heard their vocals being described as "imperfectly perfect." They are a highly energized rock group at their best when playing live and they really belt it out. Thanks! Would love to see more.

The Warning is a rock band. Their energy is so much more when they’re in front of an audience. There are many such videos on their channel.
Yeah. Loving the live performances they have uploaded. In fact I recorded the Lunario CDMX show to cassette yesterday because it deserved a place among the old rock and metal tapes I grew up with! 😁
Greetings from Argentina, we expect more Reactions from The Warning, what grew in her voice not only Daniela, but also Paulina and Alejandra Villareal is impressive, currently Alejandra is 16 years old (bass) Paulina 19 years old (drums) and Daniela Villarreal 21 years (guitar).
What a great intro to the music of The Warning. The first time I ran across these acoustic versions I remember being blown away by the musicality.
Just wait until you hear them plugged in.
Pau is definitely a Powerhouse. much has been said about her Pau-er. When she is on a full kit it is a wonder to behold. Even when Dany is melting your face off it isn't uncommon to find your eyes glued to that incredibly animated drummer girl.

Since nobody mentioned it, I would recommend reacting to "Black Holes" from the Dakota Bar. Pau leaves her drum kit to play piano and there are some awesome harmonies in that song.

I would have agreed with you about there being no punk in these ladies until they released their last three songs a couple days ago. In my opinion, all three songs (Disciple, Animosity, and Z) have a strong punk element to them, which may be why they are not hitting home with me. Z actually reminds me a lot of the B-52s, so I may eventually come to like that song, because I like a few of the B-52's songs.

I know when I want to take a trip through the universe I listen to Pink Floyd, And not All Pink Floyd songs are for the universe, Roger Waters was very opinionated. Seriously, anything you do by The Warning is great! But to touch on the songwriting/lyrics, this is part of a concept album where a girl goes from unrequited love to obsession, stalking, murder, and madness. This song is the breakdown point where the girl's personality breaks apart into 2, the evil and the good (relatively speaking) sides. Dany sings the evil side; Pau the good.
Wohoo! Finally. You are in an amazing treat Charlie! I am sure. The Warning is amazing. Top level talent they have. Can’t wait to see your reactions to their newer songs. They just released an EP of 6 songs, yesterday. ✌️

When you see their “real” style of music you will be blown away. I am 100% certain.
-You will be surprised by how Pau sings but more importantly shocked by how she plays drums (or piano😉).
-Ale is capable of singing very low and high, and at this age incredible bass player.
-When it comes to Dany, let’s say she does something that “Floor Jansen” does. She affects people with her attitude and talent. Don’t comparing their voices obviously (I mean, come on😅) She sings with maximum emotions whenever/whatever she sings. And as you see has great voice 😉

Yes, their acoustic sessions are just so amazing, I love that guitar Dany is playing, it has an awesome sound, too bad she gave it away as a Kickstarter reward. I also love the sound Ale's bass makes, and the electronic drums Paus is playing, I've never seen one of those until I saw this video. Pretty cool.
Honestly brother you have great knowledge. If you like this there is so much more to this band The Warning. Their understanding of vocal Dynamics and harmonies and trading off lead vocals is amazing. It's a welcoming rock-and-roll rabbit-hole. New subscriber
Awesome. I loved your analysis of this performance here, but oh man, the full on high-octane electrified live performance of this song is in-freaking-credible. This acoustic bit is great but (particularly for Pau) it's like they're all playing with one hand tied behind their backs. The drum fill coming out of "... and for what it's worth you'll never live until you die" is, well, to die for (I personally died) - and Pau somehow seems to get even more power in her voice when behind her kit. So glad I found your channel!

If you want to see some other examples of how good they are check out an older song Dust to Dust (live) where Pau sings lead. Also, their new songs Disciple and Choke - show Dani's maturity and how much she has progressed as a singer. This acoustic was a couple years ago.
Recently discovered... you have 9 years of their history to catch up with... Dany and Pau each sing lead vocals on different song. Ale mostly sing backing but has recently has been picking up lead in live performances. For Pau singing my favorite is Black Holes.

I just came across this again. I've seen it several times. Without the reactor getting all technical, this is a really good vocal analysis of the band.
You should do more of *The Warning!* They have new music out: 'Evolve', 'Disciple', and 'Animosity' to start.
Pau also has covered Creep by Radiohead on the piano - no other instruments.

This was an unusual (but delightful) choice for a first listen to The Warning. A good video to check out Pau's voice (and her awesome drum skills) would be Survive at the TEDx talk.

Thank you Whoracle for requesting this. I watched this on Twitch and I have gone head first into a The Warning hole ever since. I thought "this is pretty rock" so I checked out their channel and found the live performance at Whisky A Go Go and realized "No this is very rock!". Then I noticed the cover of Enter Sandman for the Blacklist which is a really good interesting take on a song that has been done to death. Then I saw the version they did 7 years ago when they were kids and realized that I had actually seen them back then!
Now here I am recording live gigs to cassette tapes like the old days! 😁
Oooh if it was really exciting to see you listen to these girls for a long time I expected it I hope to continue seeing more of them this was two years ago and they have evolved impressively
These young ladies are extremely talented. Since this performance they have matured leaps and bounds but still gritty and sweet. You have a great ride ahead of ya bud lol They dont have a bad song or performance on their YT or catalog!

To hear Pau more , Narcisista or Black Holes (Don't Hold On), though Black holes is from their 2017-album XXI Century Blood so it's some time back, but it's amazingly emotional for a lot of people due to the subject matter...

Just reiterating what everyone else is saying - you should do more The Warning reactions! Please don't deny yourself so much greatness by leaving it just at this one song. Anything from this album (Queen of the Murder Scene) or their new EP would be great, and seeing how they perform live is highly recommended. "Dust to Dust" is the prologue to this album and is a great place to start.
It always awesome, with these young women. We must always take their age in consideration. I agree there voices are young, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY YOUNG!!!! Pau, can play drums like a your John Bonhm. Check out their other songs. Start with Survive, she's can make those drums talk. If you haven't listened to their cover of Matallicas "Enter Sandman" from 2014. Alejandra was 9 or 10. Are you kidding me!!!.You can see by this video, Pau, will continue to "bang the hell" out of those skins.
I know you've also done Pau's cover of "Creep", but to get a lok at the power she can manage while playing drums, take a look at "Narcisista".

Pau is a titan. Dany’s vocal idol is Lzzy Hale. Ale is still uncomfortable with any kind of spotlight, but is slowly growing into a bass monster (she already has a signature bass guitar from Spector, that will be released this year). These sisters will be legends.
Dany's voice is astounding, Pau's voice is phenomenal, Ale's voice is still mostly a mystery. She rarely sings lead and she never pushes her voice. I would really love to hear her go all out like her sisters, but she lacks the confidence in her voice to do it.
I've heard her sing lead live, it was amazing :) She has a great voice but doesn't want to sing lead

Check out one of the 2 videos available for Red Hands at the mercury lounge ... I think it's the one that is closest to Ale' with the best sound. But anyway after a timid 1st. 15 seconds you can actually see her transition. Her voice is very powerful. I think she's more like a tiger chained to the mic makes her uncomfortable. Ruling the stage is what she's about.
@@markbell4982 I don't think it's about confidence more so she just doesn't feel comfortable. She actually likes singing lead in some songs, she just isn't comfortable doing it. She has the confidence, it's just usually uncomfortable especially if you are as introverted as she is.

This band frys me brains.
This is my favorite tune off this album, and of course it's sort of the centerpiece of the "concept" storyline. But here's the "secret" to The Warning - they are incredibly *precise* . Nothing is by accident, even the seemingly "jazzy" song notes. Every syllable, every strum, every beat... it's all as coordinated and pre-determined as they can make it. This tune in particular showcases this aspect, especially in Dany's vocals at the end.
Which, BTW, makes their concerts so much fun, because there's almost zero difference between a live rendition and the studio album recording. It's all nearly exactly the same. Now, maybe some people will not like that aspect of their music... but personally, I love it - and I'm an old-school metalhead.

Here is your history on The Warning. The Warning is a band of 3 sisters from Monterey, Mexico. Daniella (Dany) is 22, Paulina (Pau) is 20, and Alejandra (Ale´) will be 18 in Dec, 2022. Their parents loved music and the kids saw many videos of rock concerts growing up. They started in music early when Dany and Pau were enrolled in music initiation class at ages 5 and 3 respectively. Ale´ was too young at that time but when she was old enough learned the same things. They took classical piano lessons and were quite good. When Dany was about 7 their dad bought them the video game Rock Band, and everything changed. They fell in love with rock music and performing (even though it was just a game). When Dany was 8 her dad asked her if she wanted to take up another instrument (along with piano). She chose the guitar. Later Pau chose the drums and Ale´ chose the bass. Ale had only been playing bass for about a month when they, as a group, started playing and recording songs.
They practiced hard and in 2014 when they were 14, 12, and 9 years old put out a TH-cam video for their grandparents to see how they had progressed in their music. That video was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman, and it went viral. To date it has well over 23 million views and has gotten praise from such notable bands as Metallica and many others. The girls were caught off guard completely and had to make a decision. They quit school and began homeschooling so as to have more time to devote to their music. They practiced 2 hours a day separately and another 2 hours together every day- and they still do.
Their Enter Sandman video was also noticed by Ellen DeGeneres, and they made their US TV debut on The Ellen Show in 2015. The girls were trying to raise enough money to attend the 5-week classes at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ellen found this out and she and Target presented each of the girls with a $10k check to attend those classes. Because Ale´ was only 10 years old she had to get a special exemption to attend but she got it.
Harmonix, the makers of the Rock Band video game, also noticed the girls and invited them to come to their facilities in Boston for a tour. While there they got to preview the soon-to-be-released Rock Band version IV and were completely caught off guard to see that their song Free Falling was in the game! They started the band because of the Rock Band video game so having their song in the game was amazing to them.
In 2015 they also released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was an exploratory group of eclectic songs designed to sort out their style.
In 2016 they were invited to participate in a Ted X talk at the University of Nevada where they told their story of how they got into music and started the band- they played 3 great songs (2 originals and a cover of The Foo Fighter’s Pretender). They were a hit and were invited back in 2017 where they talked about producing and launching their first complete LP called XXI Century Blood. They played 3 original songs from that album and wowed the crowd again.
In 2018 they released their 2nd album Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey thru unrequited love- from love, to infatuation, to obsession, to murder, to remorse. It is an amazing album, and every song is performed with great passion.
Their Mexican critics called them Cultural Traitors because they did not sing in Spanish and did not sing the traditional Spanish tunes. The Warning’s response was the song Narcissista. It debuted at the end of the 2019 Foro Didi concert in Mexico. The song says, “You say you pray for us, but we don’t see much praying”, and “you don’t know us”, and “you just talk to talk”, and basically tells those critics to Kiss Off! It was purposely written and sung in Spanish to make sure those critics understood every word, and the lyrics were put on the big screen behind them during the performance. You can understand why Pau sung it with so much passion!
The Warning was always an independent band and used such tools as Patreon and Kickstarter to fund their efforts. In 2020, after 7 months of negotiations to keep much of their independence, The Warning signed with Lava/Republic records for a 5-record deal. At the time they were 20, 18, and 15 years old.
Their first offering from the new record deal is the EP Mayday. It is a 6-song half album of amazing music.
Dany is a very accomplished guitar player and sings lead most of the time. Pau is a world-class drummer and sings backup and lead (lead about 20% of the time). Ale´ is an amazing bass player and sings backup and lead when necessary (a bit shy about singing lead). All 3 play keyboards as needed and can jump in to cover singing lead in any song when needed.

Metallica asked Alessia Cara to do a cover of Enter Sandman for their Blacklist album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. 53 artists were asked to take those iconic songs and do whatever they wanted with them. Alessia had no idea what to do but because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed the song and recorded it in one week, using David Bendeth to mix and edit that song (David did the amazing work on their Mayday EP). they created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest- 16 as of March 2021) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 19 as of March 2021) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 21 as of March 2021) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
They had been uploading their musical journey to TH-cam for their family to see and had wanted to try and play music together as a band around 2012 and started rehearsed for a small performance for their school xmas show. Well They loved the experience so much they began learning and playing cover songs of hard rock and metal bands. One song in particular shot them into the limelight. That song, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica had gone viral (currently over 22 000 000 views) and had gotten the attention of Metallica, Dee Snyder and The Ellen Show! The Warning wrote, composed and recorded an EP called Escape the Mind in 2015 to experience that whole process and to determine what type of music they liked to make... Thankfully they chose Rock/Hard Rock! Ellen Degeneres invited the band to play live on her show, to which they accepted and played "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, after the performance Ellen and Target awarded the sisters $10,000 each to attend Berklee School of Music in Boston, Ma. USA.
They performed a number of small and large shows afterward and began writing and composing new material for their first full length album "XXI Century Blood" in 2017. They supported this album with some very high profile gigs like opening for Def Leppard and separately The Killers for two shows each in Mexico. Also following other large rock bands in a couple music festivals. In 2018 they wrote and recorded "Queen of the Murder Scene" and released it in November of that year and have toured Mexico and South American venues.
In June of 2019 they released a single, "Narcisista". A scathing rebuke of their Mexican critics that had accused the band of being "Malinchista" a Mexican term used to call out cultural traitors, because the group has only recorded English language songs. Well this song is in Spanish and it is full of attitude and angst fired toward those critics. The Warning is totally fan-funded through Patreon, TH-cam and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter. They have turned down offers from record labels and talent shows like American Idol because they did not want to lose their control of their music, image and wanted to focus on learning. In fact in one interview with a record label they were asked if they would rather play to 12 people or 12000. Paulina piped up and said The Warning would rather play in front of 12 if it meant they would keep their integrity and could play the music they want to play, how they want to play... That is the most Rock n Roll quote ever!
So after a very successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for a North American tour and to record a new album achieving their goal within 24 hours and surpassing that goal by 600%. Unfortunately the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the band to cancel their tour plans and postpone making their album. Their last live show before the global lockdown was March 14 2020 at the Vive Latino 2020 Festival in Mexico City.This did not stop The Warning from performing though, they played a full concert set from their basement studio/rehearsal space for free for their fans on TH-cam and Facebook achieving well over 50,000 simultaneous viewers on March 25, 2020. They have since performed from The Warning Cave couple more times including for the city of Brownsville, Tx. for the Fourth of July virtual celebration and later in the summer for a charity event with rock legends like Slash and Ringo Star.
On August 9th 2020 The Warning announced to their Patreon community that after seven long months of negotiations they had signed a five record deal with Lava Records, a label under the Republic Records and Universal Music family. During the announcement they reiterated their dedication to their own creative integrity and dedicated fans on Patreon and were able to retain both in their record contract with Lava. In Sept of 2020 The Warning traveled to New Jersey, USA to begin rehearsal and eventually recording of their third album. After three months of recording and a month and a half of mastering, mixing and editing the third album was completed at the beginning of February, 2021. All that remains as of 22/02/21 is the album design and artwork and logistics of the release which will hopefully happen by the end of 2021.
On May 21 2021 they released the single "Choke" to critical acclaim th-cam.com/video/TlOy0XbFVlM/w-d-xo.html . Followed by a new release roughly every month through to Sept.
In March of 2021 The Warning was invited to cover a song from Metallica's eponymous 5th album (The Black Album) with Canadian Grammy and Juno award winning pop star Alessia Cara. They selected to record Enter Sandman, a fitting song because it was this song that propelled The Warning 7 years previous into stardom. The Warning reimagined the song with Alessia and produced a fresh new feeling that goes above and beyond what others have done with the song...
On October 8th, 2021, The Warning released six songs that were recorded for the new album on an EP titled Mayday with the remaining 6 song to be released at a later date.
