Ah yes I remember East Park so well....went as an 8 year old boy on the bus clutching a toy yacht. Launching the boat, promptly fell in so someone had to phone my Dad to come and collect me. Happy days (sort of). Lovely park mind you!

My grandad helped dig this pond out, he was unemployed on sick, my wife’s grandad turned the water on to fill it. I often wonder if they met not knowing their descendants would meet and marry.

Well, This is embarrassing! LOL! " 10/1/03. East Park, Hull. Ring Necked Duck ". So says my old, 'Twitchers Note Book'.
I remember walking through those (new) main gates. No idea which water body it was. Little island affair. First water I came to. Found and identified the reported bird. TICK! And, that was it. Went back home and phoned in that said bird was still there.
My point is? Only having watched this film have I gained Any Concept of how huge that place was! 😯 And, I was in Hull a few years too. Lovely place and people 👍Locals thought I was mad to think so? 😂They'd never been where I came from!
    Subscribed! 😁

My late mother Alice, was a May queen in Hull about 1938/9, there was a picture of her in the bandstand. (Now lost) Later I remember wishing that I had a yacht to sail on the lake.
