OMG, I have been watching your videos forever and must have missed this one featuring Scott, you are two of my biggest motivators that have helped me become a long term vegan runner/biker and to see you both together is like Christmas morning. Thanks for being so awesome and inspiring to so many people each and every day!
I am not even a distance runner or biker. I play a sport and want to get extra fit for this year after a year of a serious injury. Ive kept these videos on in my office while i work. Since then ive started jog/run/sprinting an extra 3 miles per day, biking in the office, in addition to my on court time. Withing the first week, not one person has not said at first Dude, ur looking more fit, dude ur losing weight, etc. we have sea level living here, 110 and humid in august, and ive got 10,000 foot peaks including the palms to pines trail. Thanks to these vids, im using them now. I feel so relaxed and calm, more focused, i just have had to maintin epsom salt and borax/vitamin c/ iodine baths, eating healthy nutrient rich foods and am even adding some higher calorie food and still leaning out, getting faster, breathing deeper, certainly a high. Thank you for these videos! Really watching these is enhancing my life and helped me find some solutions to what i thought was a difficult physical situation, and it's more fun. Definitely new but also catapulting back to the feeling I had living in Ketchum idaho, being on the mountain in the winter and summer, biking, climbing, learning from the people how to eat etc. Feelin it again so thanks.
Love this vid! Growing up in Denver, I've done Long's maybe a half dozen times. My dad's ashes are up there (I know, I know. Not legal, not really even cool. But it was his last wish). I know what a beast this mountain is. Adding the biking to it blows my mind. Anyway, thanks for another awesome piece of work!
I first saw Longs in 1957, and have been in awe ever since. Never climbed it. Thank you for taking my 73 year old bones along on this fantastic adventure. The camera does not do justice to the beauty of the "diamond" east wall, or any other part of Longs, for that matter! Congrats to you and Scott!

I had the opportunity to climb Long's Peak back in 1977 (with 3 friends) while attending college in Colorado. This video brought back so many great memories. Thanks!

My buddy who did it with me almost 30 years ago wants to do it in 2024 as a 30-year anniversary. So I guess in June 2024, at the age of 65 I will try to tag the top again for the 11th time! Quite a day Ryan. It's only adventures like this that make me wish that I was thirty years younger. So fun to watch you and Scott challenge yourselves and have a blast in the process. This is how one can nourish and satisfy the soul during a global pandemic.

Love it! I went to CSU in 2010 for my Siberian husky Sarge. He had radiation therapy done on his cancer. My wife and I took a day trip to RMNP that’s why I fell in love with Colorado. Then I saw Longs Peak I need to climb that someday. Great video do more 14ers.

You guys are utter beasts!! Long’s was my first 14er too. We started at 4:00 am with flashlights. Intense physically but also in beauty! My Dad used to do Long’s regularly so I called him when I got home and he said....”now you know why they call it Looooooong’s Peak!” Quite the feather in the cap to complete! Thank you for sharing it with us! Brought back lots of great memories.

Funny how things come around... I did a little bike packing with some biking friends. Fun stuff and I hope to do a lot more. But at heart, I'm a long distance runner. Anyway, I watched your Continental Divide ride and loved every video! I noticed that you were also an ultra distance runner from your videos. Now I see this... Just hanging out with Jurek. Crazy! I did the Grand Slam in 2009 and always wondered how guys like Jurek did the things he does. I'm lucky to just finish. I've hiked Longs before as well... and feel lucky to just finish. I live up in Loveland and have a cousin that lives up in Sunshine Canyon. What a small world.

Wow you guys made that look easy! Longs is the hardest event I've done to date and it definitely included any running or a 30 mile bike ride before. In my mind the trough section alone took and hour or two! Haha great stuff.
Night riding an empty road is a favorite time for me as long as you have plenty of lights. It is so important to be able to see up ahead for road debris. Cool video.
The view of Longs from home in Longmont is one of my favorite things. I have made it to Chasm Lake, and I think that's as far as I will go up Longs Peak. This video was so awesome and inspiring!
I have a friend and his wife who have climbed all of the 14rs (they live in Vail). This video gives me a better appreciation of this accomplishment. Wow!
Ryan, I was getting rectal pucker just watching you guys climb that mountain. No way would I have done that, and for sure not one handed with the camera in the other. You are an adrenaline junkie, I'll have to live vicariously through any mountain climbing adventures or riding an MTB on the edge of cliff on a technical ride that you do!

I love that SJ, who is obviously someone in superb physical condition, in his way, one of the fittest people on Earth, just looks like a normal guy. He's not big or brawny at all. He could use a good haircut. A great marketing campaign could hire him and play on that, "Here is Scott, just another guy in the IT department here at XYZ, Scott what do you like to do on the weekend?" SJ replies (with video), "I like to run up mountains! Set record times crossing thousands of miles of wilderness, etc."

Yes! Not only an awesome video, but you included a quick blurb on the map of your path. Maps give wonderful context to the whole vid. Also, Scott was riding with panniers. What did he do with them for the climb up the mountain? Wasn’t he worried that they’d get swiped or were there places to lock them up as well when you got to the trailhead.
What a challenging climb that was! Hope you make it down off the mountain before sunset! Making it to the top a bit risky, less oxygen, can you feel it in your chests?

Boulder fields are a workout like nothing else. A test for every muscle group. Best experienced from a distance. Like far, far away. 😮 How many sprains and bruises that place must dole out on any given day.
Another great video Ryan! I like the idea of the duathalon. The second half of the bike descent would be a breeze! Be sure to let us know in the second half vid(if you do one) how long the round trip was.

Yes! Not only an awesome video, but you included a quick blurb on the map of your path. Maps give wonderful context to the whole vid.
Also, Scott was riding with panniers. What did he do with them for the climb up the mountain? Wasn’t he worried that they’d get swiped or were there places to lock them up as well when you got to the trailhead.

What a challenging climb that was! Hope you make it down off the mountain before sunset! Making it to the top a bit risky, less oxygen, can you feel it in your chests?

Boulder fields are a workout like nothing else. A test for every muscle group. Best experienced from a distance. Like far, far away. 😮 How many sprains and bruises that place must dole out on any given day.
I was thinking that A LOT of people must really hurt themselves on Longs Peak, those rangers are probably busy plucking people off the mountain
Another great video Ryan! I like the idea of the duathalon. The second half of the bike descent would be a breeze! Be sure to let us know in the second half vid(if you do one) how long the round trip was.

We were using bike lights, not headlamps, and I think my headlight is 120 lumens.
