Kintaro really loves playing with his older brother Gentaro.
Sometimes Gentaro refuses, but on this day Gentaro played with Kintaro a lot both outdoors and in the room.
Everyone smiles when they see Gentaro and Kintaro playing so happily.
I hope that days like this will continue for a long time for Kintaro.

⭐️Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
Born in Ueno Zoo on July 3, 2000.
His father is Biju and his mother is Momoko.
His father died before he was born and he grew up never knowing his father.
He came to Kyoto City Zoo in 2010 and is now a father of two sons.
⭐️Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Born on June 24, 1986 at the Kyoto City Zoo.
Her father is Mack and her mother is Hiromi.
When she was 10 years old, she went to Ueno Zoo for breeding purposes.
But she had a bad relationship with another female gorilla, and she injured her fingers and toes with her self-mutilation and lost a lot of weight.
When she returned to her hometown of Kyoto City Zoo, she was fine, and she lived with various male gorillas.
Then she met Momotaro and she gave birth to two lovely sons whom she lovingly raised.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at the Kyoto City zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
He is very close with his younger brother Kintaro and they play together almost every day.
⭐️Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at Kyoto City Zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.

I don't know why they don't pair Gentero up with a female compaion. Maybe they want to keep him close to his family ? But it might make him happier. We have females in the US who could be arranged if the zoo reached out. Or even other countries outside of Asia. I don't know why Annie doesn't seem to be a good candidate ? I wish they'd post some info on this
There are only 19 gorillas in Japan, so breeding within Japan is extremely difficult considering their blood relationships.
It is true that Gentaro and Annie are not related by blood.
But if Gentaro and Annie were to have a child, there would be no breeding partner for that child in Japan.
That's why I think zoos are carefully considering who Gentaro will be paired with and which zoo to keep Gentaro in.
The best option would be to have a female gorilla come from overseas, but that would be very difficult.
@@-GorillaWorld..it's going to be quite awhile before Annie and Gentaro create any offspring-assuming they eventually get together. The time is as soon as possible, because we can't worry about any offspring they make, the issue is getting him paired up soon. They didn't worry about keeping them with their families this long, why worry about something say 10-12 years into the future? From everything I've read, no other countries want to send gorillas due to Japan's standards on animal welfare. Sad to say, of course.
@-GorillaWorld If you read my comment, that's what I said. It's not difficult to bring gorillas to Japan for breeding, although it does take money. If Japan doesn't have the money to take care of their troops, then maybe they shouldn't have them just to make money off of.
