Devil in a new dress may not sound the best at first but as u relisten the album again and again, it'll be pretty clear it's Ye's one of the best work till date
my first listen to the album was when I was 14, I didn't relisten to devil in a new dress at all, I'm 18 now and it's one of my all time favorite songs
Im a new ye listener (kinda), in 2022 was the 1st time I listened to DIAND and I like it, but it didn't stand out that much for me till this year, it actually became my most streamed song on spotify.
my childlike creativity, purity, and honesty is honestly bein crowded by these grown thoughts. reality is catchin up with me, takin my inner child i'm fightin for custody, but these responsibilities that they entrusted me, as I look down at my diamond-encrusted piece... thinkin no one man should have all that power
I embody every characteristic of the egotistic He knows, he’s so, f king gifted I just needed time alone with my own thoughts, got treasures in my mind but couldn’t open up my own vault Then your comment Is literally one of the best ye verses ever
Always thought the diamond encrusted piece bar was wordplay for “dying man” encrusted piece thinking no one man should have all that power … I like to think that just to make this feel even more classic
Just wanted to comment that Molly's comment about translating rhymes really resonated with me because that's something that I think about a lot when I'm listening to rap in english. As the rhymes get more complex, it really fascinates me how hard it can get to not lose in translation the form and meaning of lyrics, one of the rap albums that capture this feeling best for non-english speakers is Illmatic in my opinion, I'm sure you guys will react to it soon enough as I think you've mentioned it in passing, but I'm excited to hear Molly's reaction to the lyrics 😄
Undeniably Kanye's best album, but in a sea of 10/10s, everyone will have their own #1. Such a high-quality video, your reactions are fun and insightful, can't wait to see what other projects you'll listen to. If Drake gets some love, I hope to see Nothing Was The Same get covered.
For Molly's curiosity about rap and poetry, there is a TED talk by English Grime MC Akala about the similarities between Hip-Hop and Shakespeare. Its a very interesting watch and if it accidentally sends you down a path of exploring Grime music then that is a win-win in my book!
i really love your guys reactions and the way molly really listens to the music with so much interest even tho it isn't her main genre (i think) and i think ur channel is really cute and fun!!
You guys have won a new subscriber. I love a great "reaction" channel and I love music a lot. So thank you for offering your perspectives. Great video!
Lupe is so clever that video would need to be like four hours while they figure out all the word play lmao, I still hear new things after listening to a song for the 20th time
Amazing video. One of my favorite albums of all time. I really learned a lot of new info. Thank you for the facts. So excited for you guys to listen to The graduation trilogy. Can't wait.
For starters great content! You guys strike a really good balance of informative and Molly's initial reactions which I think works well. All Of The Lights features a weird Kanyeism, apparently everyone on the song is from a house of divorce. Not sure how true it is but it's stuck with me as the message of the song is both a metaphor for the music industry kicking him out and a messy split up between lovers! The translation thing is fascinating though, as a native English speaker who's tried to learn other languages and delve into their music(particularly Spanish) at a certain stage I choose whether I'm listening for the melody/form or the actual content matter of the lyrics. I can't imagine in rap music how this works. It also explains a bit of your ambivalence to some of the punchier bars; "Winsloe", "them all/store". And it explains your preference for the second half of the album, where some of the lyrical complexity is put away in favor of telling stories or the actual music. POWER is sorta the song that got me into rap music as a whole, I believe it was in Saints Row 3 and it completely changed my perspective on what rap music can be. So Appalled, Lost in the World and POWER all sit comfortably in my top 100 songs!
No one can argue and make debate about this album. One of grate album of all time and one of best come backs in hiphop history. You can't even compare how big this album production till this day.
Loved the video would like to see a reaction to graduation and late registration. Also I think what she was she was trying to culminate is the metaphors and similies
Fantano never understood MBDTF and his inability to view the art in a different light and to lean into its concept is so frustrating because he's almost resisting the chance to let the art affect him and make him feel something. As a music reviewer, he should try his best to allow the atmosphere of the album and its context to impact the listening experience and paint a fuller and clearer picture. His review really tanks his credibility for me.
Oh my gosh hello new subscriber here! [-":, I just came across this channel not too long ago. And I'm checking it out and ive realized that the reactions are quite genuine! and I love how your wife is into wordplay I think is what she said in one of your earlier videos. I always seek powerful messages and lyricism when it comes to music. You guys should definately Segway into reacting to kendrick lamar. He's a lot of hip hop purists favorite artist in the genre and listening to his catalog will demonstrate why he's so highly regarded. It's hard to pick an album to introduce the man but ide suggest a good place to start would be either good kid maad city or to pimp a butterfly album. Thanks for making my day! Have a blessed rest of the year!
I have a gut feeling this channel will prosper and do really really good! And also I looked at some of the comments and how harsh some of them were. Ide say take those with a grain of salt. You guys will grow tough skin to withstand the critics. And don't try to be like other reaction channels. I really like how authentic and unique this channel is. I love the cinematic esthetic you guys have as the set up it's very pleasing. I love how you put the end reaction at the beginning. And I like how in one video you guys named wich songs were your favorite it really intrigued me to see wich ones stood out and how sometimes your opinions varied from eachother. Y'all really do keep it real weather a track is to your liking or not and adds to the authenticity of the reaction. Alr haha those my 2 cents in the matter. Keep up the good work 🙌
Not completely wrong, the outro on Runway could be shorter, hell of a life samples clash with the instrumentals and his Kanye's voice, blame game is good but too Long, All of the Lights is anthemic but Kanye's verses and hook are meh. And who will survive America is a good track on its own but it doesn't fit very well with the album. 7.5 to 8 for the album
@@bryangaleas4464The outro on Runaway is what makes it a masterpiece, its him singing the song over again but we can't understand what he is saying meaning he is missunderstood by the public. All Of The Lights is a story about Kanye coming back from his hiatus (career) and seeing someone else has taken the throne "im heading home im almost there, to my suprise, a n*** replacin me" (drake). The album is a masterpiece and its the greatest hip hop album ever made.
24:58 Just on that point for Cyhi, it was actually Beyoncé to convince Kanye to keep him on the song and also sign him to GOOD music #fuckingridiculous
Love the reaction🦄🦄🦄 Just one little thing, Monster was Nicki’s best verse at the time, and it will forever be iconic. But she has done better verses since then 😂😂 You should react to her albums: Pink Friday was her debut album and a true classic. The Pinkprint is more vulnerable and personal but still has some iconic hits. And Queen is her most lyrical, more pure hip-hop album.
OMG you didn't do See me now? Makes sense cause it's not on streaming in all regions, y'all should do that song! It's a bonus track to this album and one of my favorite Kanye songs ever !!

I firmly believe it's the worst track on the album.
Kanye at his Prime. Samples, Features, production, lyrics everything. Kanyes Magnum Oppus.
