He was leading by example. Jesus the sinless, a perfect man and was baptised by St. John the baptist ... what humility. What Love We need to follow his example and start baptising our Children in Faith 🙏
Dear Fr. Brendan, calling all Patriots, Catholic Priests, Catholic Bishops and fellow christians. No to International Protection Accommodation centres in the Belmont Hotel and the Drumguest House, Knock. Procession of silidarity Sunday 19th August 2024 at 1pm Knock Plaza. I would love to see your there, Fr. Brendan.
We need to start baptising in Ireland again… The customs house in Dublin has engravings of the rivers and ocean on its plinth ..It’s hiding in plain sight so to speak. Thanks Fr Brendan
We need to stop baptising. The vast majority of people presenting for baptism today are non practicing. It’s putting thousands on the waiting list for the other sacraments to be abused and continue to put priests under enormous pressure . If your not going to play why join the club
Baptism was huge in the ancient world and many cultures have it at the centre of their customs..The descent of the Spirit. Being led by the Spirit ,to be tempted, ,accepting the Cross and Victory over the ministry of death …and then emerging in the Power of the Spirit to read from Isiah ,proclaiming its fulfilment and commence ministry… It often reminds me of WB Yeats poem “Three Movements “….Yet these three movements of the Spirit Descent,Led,Power of the Spirit…This is for me the most important part of the Bible unfolding 439 metre’ below sea level in the Dead Valley…It’s also significant as the bible is about the coming of Jesus and yet when he proclaims His coming we don’t even dedicate a dedicate a Mystery of the Rosary to it.. I have started saying that sixth decade and I call it the “Charasmatic Mysteries “..I will share them here with you Fr Brendan and hope I don’t offend 1 The Wandering in the Desert Jesus is baptised and is led by the Spirit in the desert 2 Great Temptation Jesus is tempted three times by the ministry of death and sees the Cross which delivers the death blow into Satan 3 The Most Blessed Consolation Jesus is tended by the Angels and receives comfort 4 The Divine Emergence Jesus emerges in the Power of the Spirit seeing the Victory not aggrieved or distressed 5 The Most Holy/Sacred Proclamation Jesus enters His hometown and reads from Isiah declaring to the Sanhedrin that the prophecy is fulfilled before their hearing I say this second decade in the times you speak Fr Brendan and although they are not on the beads I attach the St Benedict medal as issued to troops in the Great wars by the US government ..The combat rosary or battle beads …They were issued by army chaplains and the St Benedict’s medal was known as the “devil chasers bead”….They also contained the medal of Last Rites as priests couldn’t venture onto battlefields readily to administer .
Fr. Brendan, The Catholic Church has 10,700 buildings in Ireland. The Catholic Church has handed over a lot of buildings to house asylum seekers but have handed over none to house Irish homeless people. What will Ireland be like in 10 years time?
Good morning Father Brendan, I would like to ask you a couple of questions. Can a man ever have a place in his heart for the life of another man if he has not got a place in his own heart for the life he himself has been given? And further more can he ever have a place in his heart for the life he has been given if he is not in a place of gratitude for that life? It seems to me that when I am in gratitude for life, for life's sake then there is a chance that I am a good neighbor. Kind regards Eamonn Leonard ❤️
Thanks Father. I agree that the Baptism of the Lord is something worth pondering on and meditating about. As an outward sign that baptism is a public example of how Jesus made Himself subject to the sacraments. He observed and He accepted the sacraments. If He can do this, then why can't we too?
Good talk thank you, Sound lad! I heard it said that it is an anointing like Samuel did for David. The prophet anointing the King! As well as a baptism , sure wasn't he multitasking too! Isn't he Man God sanctifying all the water ever to be used for baptism by being the first. It is a mystery! And we are only scratching the surface.
Yes, Absolutely 💯 %, the One True & Most Reliable Friend and Master you could Ever Wish for, 🙏🏻✝️ And that is Exactly Why, HIS Majesty, The King Of Israel, (Matthew 15: 24) should be Held in the Most Glorious Position of Being Seated at the Right Hand side of God the Father in Heaven with the Holy Spirit 🕊️, one God for Ever & Ever Amen 🙏🏻 “Tell everyone about God’s power. His majesty shines down on Israel; his strength is mighty in the heavens. God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!” Psalms 68:34-35 The Lords Baptism Confirmed His Righteousness, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Blessed be the name of Jesus Christ True God, Amen 🙏🏻
I'm a little confused in terms of chronology ; The bible tells us that Mary and Elizabeth were first cousins. When baby Jesus was in Marys womb she went to visit Elizabeth who was 6 months pregnant with John who we are told leaped in the womb at her arrival. So the two men are about 6 months apart in terms of age when Jesus was baptised. Was John the Baptist himself baptised and does the bible say by whom, or did John create baptism with water. Forgive my ignorance Brendan . Theology is such a wonderful subject, which I am not familiar with, perhaps your readers can help, I wish to thank them in consideration of their response[s] God Bless you Sean
The Essenes were baptisers and St John wax probably part of them..Jesus baptised nobody yet was Baptised Himself.. Followers of Jesus or Christian’s follow His Life and example,, As Jesus baptised nobody then Christians struggle with baptism…We have a huge culture of it in Ireland with St Patrick baptising …Maybe Patrick was an Essene?
I will not be subscribed anymore if you don't address my comments on and Genesis 1:29, in the next video! Just another cowardly hypocrite if you don't!
@PaulCJakubik thou shalt not forsake the lord our God's wishes for a racist abusive man made law! This is a disgusting society because of the cowardliness of God's "children" hypocrites!
Amen...❤❤❤❤❤
A fantastic and challenging meditation.
Thank you Fr. Brendan

1 The Wandering in the Desert
Jesus is baptised and is led by the Spirit in the desert
2 Great Temptation
Jesus is tempted three times by the ministry of death and sees the Cross which delivers the death blow into Satan
3 The Most Blessed Consolation
Jesus is tended by the Angels and receives comfort
4 The Divine Emergence
Jesus emerges in the Power of the Spirit seeing the Victory not aggrieved or distressed
5 The Most Holy/Sacred Proclamation
Jesus enters His hometown and reads from Isiah declaring to the Sanhedrin that the prophecy is fulfilled before their hearing
I say this second decade in the times you speak Fr Brendan and although they are not on the beads I attach the St Benedict medal as issued to troops in the Great wars by the US government ..The combat rosary or battle beads …They were issued by army chaplains and the St Benedict’s medal was known as the “devil chasers bead”….They also contained the medal of Last Rites as priests couldn’t venture onto battlefields readily to administer .

Will be populated by mosques and hindu temples
