It is not possible to co-parent with a toxic abusive person who uses everything to manipulate. At this point in our family's journey, it is impossible to share a text to celebrate or do anything like that. It is a sad reality, but in some situations, it's not safe to communicate anything beyond court orders. I appreciate your voices in sharing about manipulation. It is a hard thing to deal with. One thing that helped was getting specialized counselong on understanding narcissistic type of manipulation.

The divorce industry lobbies to keep a corrupt system, which encourages conflict with monetary reward to keep time sharing lopsided. Which then encourages manipulation to alienate.

Could you at all talk about blending families for widows , all this talk about hurt and ex spouses and attacking and feelings about previous divorced marriage and all these negative effects of that simply don’t apply to widows and there’s not any advice for just simply blending families all the advice is about an ex spouse and the heartbreak of it …. I thought this was for blending families not for dealing with ex spouses in new relationships

I deal with a lot of negative things even though I’ve done a lot of right things. There came a time where I threw my hands up and just avoid her. Hard to say this bc I never liked to blame children. But there are children who manipulate their bio parent to get away with stuff. Or to try and turn them against the stepparent. When I seen child manipulation I thought that’s what this was about. When the child manipulates bc the dislike the new parent even though that parent helped raise the child from infancy, or toddlerhood.
That can sometimes be a factor in blended families as well!! In this instance, though, we mean more the manipulation of the child by a parent. However, you have given us something else to consider teaching on! Thanks so much for reaching out! Be blessed in all you do!
