I wonder why so many non-American actors who also come from English speaking countries (maybe except Canada) where other distinctive English varieties are spoken can easily master the American accent, like Rose Mclver or Andrew Lincoln, etc, just so many example. Yet few American actors can skillfully speak another English accent.
萧傲然 I believe it is more of the exposure. Hollywood movies has a global reach while it isn't true for other countries/languages towards the US. This gives other english speaking countries more exposure to the american accent but not the other way around.
It is quite easy for other English speakers to grasp an American accent more than other accent because it is more accessible to everyone and most movies come from Us.
mangolollipop more come from the US but definitely not most, maybe you just don't show as many movies from different countries on tv or in cinemas, also the American accent is just easiest to grasp in my opinion
eugene endres I think he's a bit incompetent cos he's a newbie. I like that he's portrayed that way cos it means he'll improve in being a detective as the show progresses.
Watched the pilot seems pretty interesting( never read the comic its based on). Hope she does well as a fellow person from the land of the long white cloud (NZ)
I red it, as it's not a long series, and it's very different. Instead of a crime fighting zombie, she just tries to live a normal life along with her ghost friend, and a were-terrier. I think the series are better than the comics imo.
Soul Firez For a show I thought was going to be a Zombie meets Twilight fiasco, I have to say I was so impressed I try to watch every episode. It actually added a new kind of Zombie into the mix without ruining anything. And Rose McIver is a very good actor. The whole cast are, to be honest.
Love her New Zealand accent!. And she is very beautiful with and without the makeup. I hope that this show keeps going because it is so great!.
