    Malaysia Is very diverse. Only about 63 are ethnic malays & are 100% muslims. Rest are mostly chinease, Indian & other south east &east asian ethnic groups. But amazingly, somehow they all ( both muslims, Buddists, Christians, Hindus etc...) managed to live there in peace and harmony. Malaysia is a perfect example of coexistence & proves all can live in peace

    Malaysians do play cricket, rugby, lawn bowl and polo, and other games/sports inherited from British time. Cricket not just played by Englishmen but also locals since 1880s, and the Royal Selangor Club (RSC) where the tudor house you've seen at Independence Square was formed in 1884. Malaysia won few medals in cricket at South East Games and as August 2023, Malaysia men cricket team is at 25th world's ranking and Malaysia women cricket team at 27th which mostly played by Commonwealth countries or countries those ever part of British Empire. However of course cricket not as popular as football, badminton, hockey, sepak takraw and other games in Malaysia.

    Hai David! I am new to your channel. Welcome to Malaysia!!
    Here's the thing. Malaysia is celebrating our National Independence Day on 31st August, that's reason you see country flags everywhere.
    The location of Masjid Jamek or Jamek Mosque is actually where Kuala Lumpur got its name from.
    Kuala = river mouth
    Lumpur = mud
    Kuala Lumpur means muddy confluence. This was where boats from the sea landed and where the city basically started. China Town is there. The Central Market is there (actually it was a wet market). Central bus station is there (well, was there). The train station is there. The National Mosque (Masjid Negara) is there as well.
    The government administration building (built by British, yes the clock tower at Merdeka Square - that's the one) is there as well and the last time it was used as High Court complex in the 1990s.
    As you said it you won't find another country where Chinese, Malays and Indians live together along with many minor ethnics including the Sikhs, the Portugeuese and Thais and with 4 major religions in harmony (Islam, Buddhist, Hindu, Christians).
    Of course you may say Singapore but let's not forget Singapore used to be one of the states in the Federation of Malaya before 1965. Malays were the majority there, now the opposite.
    Enjoy your stay. 3 or 7 days are not enough to try all the cuisines though (unless you have 10 stomachs ).

    A tip for you. If your drinks are a bit too sweet, you can ask for extra hot water or a glass of ice on the side to tone down the taste. You can find stalls set up in strategic places all around KL. There's a big night market every Wednesday called the Connaught night market which is about 2k long. Google if you plan to go there and fast whole first before going. Should try our national dish, nasi lemak at Wanjo restaurant in Kampung Baru. Order with side dish of beef rendang.
