Thanks so much, I've been looking for a tutorial and your comment made me feel confident in this one. And you were right! As a left handed some tutorials can be confusing but this is so easy to follow!! 👍👍
here’s the pattern for those that wanna follow written instructions~ chain 2 at the start of each round, start your 1st DC in the same st and slst into 1st st at the end. 1. 10 DC into magic circle (10) 2. inc into each st (20) 3. 1 DC in st, inc in next st (30) 4. 2 DC, inc in next st (40) 5. 3 DC, inc in next st (50) 6. 4 DC, inc in next st (60) measure diameter of circle. if it’s too small, just add more rounds until it’s the correct diameter, and if it’s too big, you might want to remove rounds, use a smaller hook or make your stitches tighter. 7-12. 1 DC in each st (60) try on the hat. add more rounds if you want it to be longer and remove rounds if you want it to be shorter. flat brim: 1. DC in the front loop only in each st (60) 2. 5 DC, inc in the next st (70) inc st according to how you finished off in step 6. 3. 6 DC, inc in the next st (80) 4. 7 DC, inc in the next st (90) 5. fasten off and weave in the end if you want the brim to be longer, just add more rows and inc accordingly. frilly brim: 1. DC in the front loop only in each st (60) inc st according to how you finished off in step 6. 2. 2 DC in the next 2 st, inc in the next st (80) if you want it to be more frilly, add more inc. 3. 3 DC, inc in the next st (100) 4. 4 DC, inc in the next st (120) 5. fasten off and weave in the end. if you want the brim to be longer, just add more rows and inc accordingly. front of eyes (make 2): 1. using black yarn, 10 DC into a magic circle (10) you only need to chain 1 instead of 2 at the start of steps 2 and 3 2. using white yarn, inc HDC in each st (10) 3. using the same green yarn as the hat, 1 st, inc in next st (20) 4. fasten off back of eyes (make 2) [use only green yarn for this]: 1. 10 DC into a magic circle (10) you only need to chain 1 instead of 2 at the start of steps 2 and 3 2. inc HDC in each st (10) 3. 1 st, inc in next st (20) 4. cut off a long amount of yarn to attach the front & back of eyes, & to attach to the hat you can fill the eyes with some stuffing if you like 5. thread end into yarn needle and go through each stitch of the front and back of eye 6. thread yarn need through st on the hat and eye (not too sure how to word this, watch the video to see how she does it!) 7. make a few knots as you are fastening the eye onto the hat cheeks (make 2): 1. 8 HDC into a magic circle 2. cut off ~ 1 foot of yarn to attach it to the hat 3. thread end into yarn needle and go through the cheek & hat at the same time, for all 8 st 4. make a few knots as you are fastening the cheek onto the hat mouth: 1. thread ~ 2 feet of black yarn into yarn needle 2. ~ 1cm from the cheek, make a knot on the inside of the hat 3. stitch the black yarn to make a smile/frown 4. make a few knots and tie off the yarn on the inside of the hat
Made this for my friend's birthday gift, she loves it, she wears it everywhere! The hat is now a part of her head haha The tutorial is very easy, I am a complete beginner and I made it in a day. This was the first thing I crocheted ever, thank you for this amazing tutorial 🥰
Omg me too! I randomly wanted to crochet a bucket hat while also looking for a birthday gift for my friend and she loves frogs and I saw this and I'm planning to make it for her birthday!
this is absolutely amazing!! I just finished crocheting this bucket hat and not only it is the cutest thing ever but this tutorial is hands down the best one for a total beginner like me!! Thank you so much!! I’ll definitely be doing more hats like this :))
This was literally the very first thing I've ever crocheted in my life- went straight from learning to chain to this and let me tell you. IT WAS SO EASY THANKS TO YOU!! I mean I somehow made the hat too small, like waaay too small, but that's okay because my sister is having a baby so it's now a nice little surprise gift hat for her baby, lol... Thank you for being so helpful and explaining everything so thoroughly! Will do again and make sure to get it adult sized this time 😭
I would like to say that I have officially made an ADULT sized froggie hat!! I love it sm, thank you again! And my sister loved the baby one as well so, win-win 😅💕💕
@@dianaanonymous5794 honestly it was a mistake so I'm not 100% sure how to tell someone else to do it but I can tell you what I know I did wrong the first time and see if that helps you? For starters the first time I did this, I didn't listen to the video I had it on mute while around others. I watched her instructions she wrote on the screen, and she didnt write down to chain 2 after doing the 10 dc into the hole, so I didn't do that. I also would forget to chain 2 before starting a new row. So I would slip stitch into the first sitch on my circle, chain nothing, and continue on with my dcs and increases. (At some point my circle became a circle permanently, and I would have to guess how many stitches I needed to do before 'starting' a new row. It was all spirals until we started working down the part that covers your forehead lol) It's also worth mentioning that for the entirety of the hat (besides the brim) I only went through half of my stitches. Like how in the video she goes through one side of the stitch to make a frilly brim? I did that for the whole hat EXCEPT the brim. I saw a video saying it makes neater stitches and I still did it for my adult sized hat with no issues. But for the brim make sure you do the full stich if you want it frilly. I also make super tight and small stitches. I can't help it, but my friends and mother all had a heart attack trying to use some of my stitches since they couldn't manage to get their hook through them. It's easy for me, though. But nice, tight stitches do help in making your hat smaller, I think. Then I just stopped when I realized the hat both 1). wasn't the same size as the video's (despite doing all the steps she said to), and 2.) it wasn't getting bigger no matter how many more rows I added. I made the eyes the correct size, so they're a bit big on the little hat. I'd imagine you could just make it smaller by making the amount of stitches and such smaller as well. Sorry if this doesn't work out for you. It was truly a mistake on my part and I haven't tried to replicate it. I hope you could at least understand my rambling, as well 😅👍🏻
@@dianaanonymous5794 but also I'd imagine you could make a small hat by skipping some of the instructions. Like instead of increasing up to 5 or 6 like she does for the top of the hat, stop at 3 or something. And just keep doing that for the rest of the hat. Don't do as many rows as she does, as many increases, etc. Really sorry I can't help more 😩

THANK YOU S O MUCH FOR THIS!!!!! i used this to make a bear hat instead of the frog!!! it was my first big crochet project and you made it so easy, thank you!
Thank you so much for the thorough tutorial. I used it just to make a plain bucket hat because the other tutorials on TH-cam just didn’t help or explain as much as you did. You’re AWESOME!
This was very easy to follow, thank you. I made one, baby size and just the eyes, no mouth and cheeks. It looks fine to me so I'll leave it like that and make another with all the details. ❤
Thank you so much for this! I made this hat (and changed the pattern a bit to fit exactly what i wanted and also to fit using a 4mm hook) and i love it! :)

Update: Finished the hat and its sooo cute! Unfortunatly, I made it too small for me, so I'm probably going to give it to my little cousin. I hope she enjoys it! I'm going to make another that is hopefully more my size!
This was a very easy pattern to follow! I've already made one and am starting another. I also appreciate you taking the time to clarify you didn't want the pattern being used for profit. I've wanted to sell crochet for years, but I didn't want to do it until I had a clear idea on what was fair use and what was stealing.
I've been using this pattern for awhile now! I've adjusted it for chenille and it's so cute! Although if anybody plans on using chenille, don't make your brim too long or it flops over your eyes really bad lol! I stopped at 2 or 3 rows
Omg ty for explaining the stitches with the increases the way u did!! Genius!! I struggle so much with other vids cuz i can’t figure out what i need to do! Ty so much ! ❤️❤️❤️
It was my very first work and it was so difficult for me because I am not fluent in English and totally didn’t know the specific crochet words but I finally finished it and I really love the result, thank you so much !
Its so cutee!, Im making one tommorow or so. Im making it for myself and for my little brother, i haven't made any crochet projects before in my life. I'll just edit the results
I love froggies alot!!! this tutorial was easy and fun! the end results were so cute! I used crochet plastic eyes and dark green yarn bc it looks so cute! Tysm for making an amazing video!
Thanks for sharing. I have to make a bear hat for my sister and this tutorial is a good starting point for me. Imma change up the colors and make the eyes into ears 👍🏾💜
omg finally I finished!! After everything went wrong that could go wrong... ordered yarn, had a different color than on the picture and was way thinner than I thought... So I doubled the yarn to make it thicker. Hat was easy. Eyes made me freak out because I was just way too stupid to listen correctly to the instructions 😂 So my hat isn't perfect but I still love it! For everyone interested in crocheting this: I used almost 150 grams of green 100% Cotton Yarn and approximately 180 meters. Took me one evening + almost the whole next day
@@i.6940 yeah I finished it and already wear that♡ Sadly I don't know:( sorry. I bought it on the store and they didn't write the weight or the length, I just randomly buy it 😅
Thank you!! I’ve been knitting with needles ever since I can remember but crochet always seem so difficult to me, I could never get the hang of it. This is the easiest tutorial I’ve seen, I can’t believe my hat is actually looking pretty nice. (I think part of the awkwardness I felt crocheting is that I’m left handed but I figured out a way of moving the yarn instead of the hook)
You did a great job on this tutorial my hat turned out awesome. 1 thing that would of been helpful was stitch count at end of rounds. Thank you for sharing. My daughter will love this hat
thanks! this is my first trial of making a frog hat! and its so cute! i had to try agan cause i failed at first but now my hat is almost done just need to do the eyes
Thank you so much going to get supplies and try this out to wear for my athletics carnival and in general and im literally frog obsessed i love it so much keep up the amazing work. 😊
I had already bought black and white yarn earlier in a different size from the pink and green so I had to improvise on the back of the eyes which made this take wayyy longer (I redid the eye like 3 times) and then I also re-decided what brim type I wanted like after finishing the entire hat so I had to undo a bunch of it😭 when writing this comment it’s 2:30 am and I just finished both the eyes and weaving all the threads that needed weaving 😍
Thank you so much! Is was very easy and I never thought Id be able to crochet anything but then i saw this video, Im very pleased with how it came out! Again thanks so much!
This tutorial was absolutely brilliant, ty so much for it, I love my little hat, I’m not exactly experienced with crochet yet and it took me about a day and a half but I had so much fun and really enjoyed the end product, thank you thank you :)))))
I just finished this tutorial it was very entertaining to do it you teach very well I hope you continue uploading more content 🤗greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
Thank you so much! great tutorial as many others use hdc around but it makes the seam too obvious in the join. I did the eyes with super chunky yarn so it sticks out. I love it!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I had never crocheted anything in my life, but I found this pretty straightforward to follow, and my hat turned out so cute omg, thank you~!🐸😸
I messed up slightly but it still looks really good so far! This is the first project I've done because I just started crocheting and all I knew was the chain stitch, but this has still been very easy to follow and I am learning so much! Thank you!
Just wanted to say this was the easiest tutorial ever and I’ve been trying to find a good one and yours is just amazing!! Thank you so much!!

Thanks so much, I've been looking for a tutorial and your comment made me feel confident in this one. And you were right! As a left handed some tutorials can be confusing but this is so easy to follow!! 👍👍
here’s the pattern for those that wanna follow written instructions~
chain 2 at the start of each round, start your 1st DC in the same st and slst into 1st st at the end.
1. 10 DC into magic circle (10)
2. inc into each st (20)
3. 1 DC in st, inc in next st (30)
4. 2 DC, inc in next st (40)
5. 3 DC, inc in next st (50)
6. 4 DC, inc in next st (60)
measure diameter of circle. if it’s too small, just add more rounds until it’s the correct diameter, and if it’s too big, you might want to remove rounds, use a smaller hook or make your stitches tighter.
7-12. 1 DC in each st (60)
try on the hat. add more rounds if you want it to be longer and remove rounds if you want it to be shorter.
flat brim:
1. DC in the front loop only in each st (60)
2. 5 DC, inc in the next st (70)
inc st according to how you finished off in step 6.
3. 6 DC, inc in the next st (80)
4. 7 DC, inc in the next st (90)
5. fasten off and weave in the end
if you want the brim to be longer, just add more rows and inc accordingly.
frilly brim:
1. DC in the front loop only in each st (60)
inc st according to how you finished off in step 6.
2. 2 DC in the next 2 st, inc in the next st (80)
if you want it to be more frilly, add more inc.
3. 3 DC, inc in the next st (100)
4. 4 DC, inc in the next st (120)
5. fasten off and weave in the end.
if you want the brim to be longer, just add more rows and inc accordingly.
front of eyes (make 2):
1. using black yarn, 10 DC into a magic circle (10)
you only need to chain 1 instead of 2 at the start of steps 2 and 3
2. using white yarn, inc HDC in each st (10)
3. using the same green yarn as the hat, 1 st, inc in next st (20)
4. fasten off
back of eyes (make 2) [use only green yarn for this]:
1. 10 DC into a magic circle (10)
you only need to chain 1 instead of 2 at the start of steps 2 and 3
2. inc HDC in each st (10)
3. 1 st, inc in next st (20)
4. cut off a long amount of yarn to attach the front & back of eyes, & to attach to the hat
you can fill the eyes with some stuffing if you like
5. thread end into yarn needle and go through each stitch of the front and back of eye
6. thread yarn need through st on the hat and eye (not too sure how to word this, watch the video to see how she does it!)
7. make a few knots as you are fastening the eye onto the hat
cheeks (make 2):
1. 8 HDC into a magic circle
2. cut off ~ 1 foot of yarn to attach it to the hat
3. thread end into yarn needle and go through the cheek & hat at the same time, for all 8 st
4. make a few knots as you are fastening the cheek onto the hat
mouth:
1. thread ~ 2 feet of black yarn into yarn needle
2. ~ 1cm from the cheek, make a knot on the inside of the hat
3. stitch the black yarn to make a smile/frown
4. make a few knots and tie off the yarn on the inside of the hat
You are a wonderful human being
I love you for this
💙 Thank you so much

21:50 frilly brim
THANK YOU SM I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS PART
Thanks for sharing. I have to make a bear hat for my sister and this tutorial is a good starting point for me. Imma change up the colors and make the eyes into ears 👍🏾💜
I’m SO HAPPY WITH IT, I have my own little baby frog tie now,👌😂
Seems amazing, im just getting into crocheting and im exited to try this once ive bought green wool
Very cute! I enjoyed your tutorial. Very detailed!
omg finally I finished!!
Took me one evening + almost the whole next day
Great video! Thank you very much! Never crocheted before and the hat turned out perfect)
Just bought the green yarn, I'm gonna try this now
How many yarn did u used
Did you finished it? How many yarn did you use? :) Need to order yarn online and I dont know how much i need 😅
@@charlottequercus sadly I don't know because they didn't write that when I buy that
@@i.6940 yeah I finished it and already wear that♡
Sadly I don't know:( sorry. I bought it on the store and they didn't write the weight or the length, I just randomly buy it 😅
@@i.6940 I haven’t started yet, but I would estimate around 100g of the green yarn!
Thank you for teaching this wonderful hat in the easiest way possible. You're a great teacher dear. Please keep posting. ❤
Just made my first project this week and this is gonna be my second one! Making one for my frog-obsessed friend
Finished! Took me 6 hours but I'm done and very proud :D

LOVE LOVE LOVE your tutorial. I made it and it turned out super cute!
Thank you so much going to get supplies and try this out to wear for my athletics carnival and in general and im literally frog obsessed i love it so much keep up the amazing work. 😊
I had already bought black and white yarn earlier in a different size from the pink and green so I had to improvise on the back of the eyes which made this take wayyy longer (I redid the eye like 3 times) and then I also re-decided what brim type I wanted like after finishing the entire hat so I had to undo a bunch of it😭 when writing this comment it’s 2:30 am and I just finished both the eyes and weaving all the threads that needed weaving 😍
the hat is soo cute wanted a bucket hat for a bit and now i have the cutest frog one
Thank you so much! Is was very easy and I never thought Id be able to crochet anything but then i saw this video, Im very pleased with how it came out! Again thanks so much!
This tutorial was absolutely brilliant, ty so much for it, I love my little hat, I’m not exactly experienced with crochet yet and it took me about a day and a half but I had so much fun and really enjoyed the end product, thank you thank you :)))))
so cute! I was gonna make a bear ear bucket hat, def gonna use this vid for the base
omg this is exactly what im trying to do too lol, how did you do the ears? since bear ears are more half-moon shaped rather than circular
@@kat-gz5ki What I do Is I either slip stitch or SC at one side to make it flatter
