Dankuwel voor de les! Ik had Nederlands geleerd op school maar nadat ik afgestudeerd ben, heb ik zo weinig oefenkans en daardoor spreek ik tegenwoordig niet zo goed in het Nederlands. Ik vind uw video's zeer nuttig zijn om mijn Nederlands te oefenen. Geabonneerd! ☺️
So good! So hard! I especially love the examples you used for the homework at the end. So smart in giving us a right/wrong question rather than having us rewrite the incorrect sentences! During the explanation I thought: there's no way I can do this. It's way too hard for me. But then when you gave the four examples at the end I could tell which ones were wrong! That is so encouraging. I like that there's the big goal of being able to use these words eventually... And then there's a baby-steps goal of just figuring out which ones are wrong. Thanks for another great video!

Of course! Just like if you have a preposition with words like “that” “dat becomes daar”
Sometimes in English you HAVE to have the preposition last but most of the time it’s optional but in Dutch it happens all the time. Right?

Zeer nuttig. Bedankt! Zeker heb ik iets geleerd. :) Vroeger kon ik dit alleen in de context van question-answer pairs goed verstaan, bijvoorbeeld, " _Waar_ heb je zin in?" "Ik heb _nergens_ zin in." But this broke it down very well, in terms of why it happens, and, most of all, really underlined the change in word order that happens. That seemed particularly tricky before, but with a couple examples schijnt het wel op een of andere manier logisch te zijn. Nogmaals bedankt en hou je goed! :)

Je weet zonder twijfel dat Brussel een tweetalige stad is. We spreken hier frans en nederlands. In tegenstelling tot de nederlandstaligen ondervinden de franstaligen vele moeilijkheden voor het nederlands. Als franstalig, dankzij je lessen en heel duidelijke uitleg maak ik geen deel meer uit van hen....
Dit alles om te zeggen we hier leraressen zoals je nodig hebben!

I have found that this is for me one of the greatest sources of confusion when reading or listening to Dutch. I will for example hear the word "ergens" and think to myself "somewhere", but near the end of the sentence will be a preposition, so it actually means "something". There are also sentences that will translate one way if a word like "in" is paired with "ergens" to mean "in something" but the sentence can also be translated with the word "in" being the prefix of a separable verb, so "ergen" will mean "somewhere". I think that, to a native Dutch speaker, it would be obvious which meaning is correct. There can also be sentences which have 3 or 4 prepositions near the end, in which I have to figure out whether each of those prepositions may be paired with a word like "ergens", or may be the prefix of separable verb, or a preposition that follows the noun, or the beginning of a prepositional phrase that is at the end of the sentence. This is also probably something whose meaning would be obvious to native Dutch speakers.
There are also other words whose meaning can change when they are followed by a preposition, such as "er" (it), "daar" (that), and "hier" (this). If I see two words such as "daar" and "nergens" near the beginning of a sentence and a preposition like "in" near the end of a sentence, I can be confused about whether to pair "daar" with "in" to mean "in that" while "nergens" means "nowhere" or to pair "nergens" with "in" to mean "in nothing" while "daar" means "there".

Als ik het goed heb begrepen worden ergens/nergens/overal in plaats van iets/niets/alles gebruiken in situaties waarin "er" in plaats van "dat" wordt gebruiken.

Pas als buitenlander op met klagen over het weer. Voor je het weet, klaag je op die manier over Nederland zelf. Dus probeer altijd iets positiefs over het weer te zeggen. "Regen is goed voor de boeren", of zo. Of: "Vorst is goed tegen de muggen. Ik hoop dat we weer een Elfstedentocht krijgen".

Maar ik vind het problematisch om te schrijven. Schrijven of vertalen verwijdert wat je hebt geschreven
Dat krijgt wat verwarring terwijl ik je volg.
Door de vertaling kan ik geen zinnen in het Nederlands lezen.
