- If you've wondered how well the deck washout of your Toro Recycler 22 Smart Stow works, how it compares with a regular old garden hose, or what the underside of the deck looks like, I cover it all in this video! I was curious the comparison and decided to share my journey with you guys,
Most likely some of you have spent enough time under the mower to know the difference, but for those who haven't I hope this video is helpful or at best, entertaining!

I know this video was 3 years ago but will add from doing good research on the topic: Things to do to ensure proper clean when using water clean out port. 1. be in a hard, flat and level surface like concrete. 2. Lower deck down to lowest setting where almost setting on the ground (why important to be on a hard/flat/level surface). 3. Run mover with water going through the washout port for 3min and close the rear/side port to keep as much water inside/under the mower for best cleaning. (if the water is put in and it immediately fall down due to gravity and run out the sides thenless effective cleaning).
Make sure you always disconnect the spark plug . When you spined the blade could start and cut off your fingers
Thanks for the video, I was wondering which worked best. I've found that if you clean the deck up from all debris and then give it a generous stray under the deck with silicone that really helps to keep the deck clean.
Other that that, never, that's NEVER turn the blade with your hands if you want to keep your hands attached. If you have to turn the blade {to remove it etc} make sure you TAKE THE LEAD OFF THE SPARK PLUG !!!
Thanks for showing me how it works
QUESTION: I don't have city water. I have well water with a lot of salt and minerals. I'm concerned using this feature to clean the lawn mower will rust the mower. Is rust something I should be concerned about?
Nice video, but to be fair, you probably loosened up most of the grass and debris using the washout port first, then finished off the job with the garden hose on the "jet" setting. Would've been better to do two separate washings. Either way, if you do this at least every other cut, your mower under carriage will last longer than not doing it.
Seeing results is what I’m here for,
Is it worth the cost and time to install???
Looks like we need to pressure wash it first and be done with it
If not use putty knife to clean and water hose
You didn't run the deck wash long enough. Plus like others have the deck wash loosened up the tough stuff for the hose jet.
Will my oil seep or anything leak doing this lifting it up ⬆️??
EXACTLY!! BUT NO MENTION OF THAT. BAD VIDEO. IMHO
if you have different model then ?
So, it needs to soak for like 15 min either way you do it. Garden hose only made it look better because it got to soak for a bit.
No mention of connecting hose to port, with motor running or not !!!!!
Yes you do need to turn on the mower while the hose is in the port
Lots of talk and no action that we will see, hear say
Just use a paint scraper. Works much better
Thanks for the tip!
I saw a recommendation to spray the deck and blade with WD-40 because then the grass clippings slide right off the deck and blade. Have any of you tried this?
Why cant people make a complete video covering EVERY PROPER STEP

I thought it needed 5 minutes?
