Nice video Cary. I got my LE in March ish and feel like this will be a keeper in my lineup of six machines. I'm carrying some optimism around the mythic code that is coming at some point. Love the lighting package and it's been trouble-free so far. It seems like the game will only get better with time. If CGC actually makes Pulp Fiction LE, I'll happily have two CGC machines on the team.
Thanks for the VERY comprehensive review of this pin. I have only played it on location, but thoroughly enjoyed every call out, the various shots, & of course, the Bart bash toy. Have often considered adding it to my small collection, simply because I believe the overall package is one that would be enjoyed by family & friends of all ages. From my disinterested wife to my enthusiastic 3 yr old grandson, this pin seems to have great entertainment value for all ages. That said, the same grandson loves making Little Deadpool wiggle & the animation that accompanies it! DP offers great entertainment & deeper code at the moment- enjoy your new pin!
I played Cactus Canyon for the first time this saturday at Pintastic New England. Fun game, great theme, playfield looks great. The shots are fun, especially when you have to shoot a bad guy that pops up. I love the light show on this game. I played a couple of games, I’m not a great player but I felt like I progressed through the game fairly easily. I can see someone finding it to not be challenging enough after a while though. However, in this era where a lot of games have deep codes, I think it’s great to have this game to come back to to build confidence back lol. I considered buying this game but once I played Godzilla, I just couldn’t get it out of my head. Enjoy your new game, whatever it’s gonna be.
I feel the same way about my Addams Family. I’m glad I have it and it’s classic and new people love it, but you can only tour the mansion so many times. Can’t wait to see what you swap it for. Great video as always. Take care.
I own a CC SE remake. I also owned a HEP restored original for similar money so selling that and getting the remake made a LOT of sense. One of the coolest features of Bionic Bart (IMO), which wasn't shown in this video is when the lights all go out and everything turns red and the only thing lit is Bart. The music changes to the pulsing beat and it is an adrenaline rush. I like the game a lot but I'm a casual player and I'm not all that good. Thanks for reviewing the game and explaining the shots and goals. You make a lot of very good content. Keep up the good work!
dude stop using acronyms... all it does in the end is wastes everybody's time. You aren't using BB... which means that you don't make a lot of sense. Unless you are in a company with only internal documentation and you are only dealing with your colleagues then it has been shown that using acronyms only wastes time and money and it makes others dislike you also.
This is the best table I have ever played. It's burned in my memory and man is it hard to find. The remake cab would be SO cool to have as the OG is very rare and expensive.
Totally agree with you on Cactus. Was really excited to get a nice example of an original back in 2004. I enjoyed it while I had it, which was about 3 years. That was definitely enough for me so that when CGC announced the remake I found it an easy pass. That totally contrasts to AFM, which I had been kicking myself since selling the NIB one I owned, and couldn't wait to get an LE and still have it.
Your old original CC was code incomplete, this CCr is completed code with Lyman / josh code yet to come, can’t say it was an easy pass based on original CC lol
Owned this. Some tips in game play that where missed. In Gold Mine multiball. If you are having a hard time or have one last shot your having a hard time hitting to start mother load shot. Shooting the mine will spot one shot. You need 10 combos. When a Bart mode is started except for Bionic Bart. Hitting the beer glass will increase score for hitting bart 1x for each beer hit. Final Bart shot is worth the most. Rank increases the hurry up score and time on quick shot. During showdown multi ball each bad guy hit adds 2 seconds to the final high noon wizard mode clock that starts at 20 seconds total. Do have to agree that with out new code its over stayed its welcome. And fact that I have Pulp Fiction coming. And Josh Shapre is doing rules for both. Would rather have PF out of the two.
I try to keep it simple when explaining the BASICS of going through code, most people don't listen to the code stuff anyways. That's why I time stamped when the code explanation ends. lol
Thanks for the video! I’ve been relentlessly watching videos/ trying to find ones to play locally but it’s sparse and I continue to hear people say “this wouldn’t be the machine if I only had one” for the various I look at. I am looking for just one and I don’t like Godzilla or Jurassic Park. Lol what am I to do! Any recommendations? Thanks all!
I have an LE and will never sell it. It’s the one game I can easily explain to friends who don’t understand pinball on how to play and everyone enjoys it. Talked to CGC few weeks ago and they are working on the code I believe it will be done in 2024 and the value of this machine will blow up.
I like how the bionic Bart mode has been updated in this version so instead of a weird funky looking robotic cowboy that looks like a skeleton in the original you get something that looks a lot more insanely epic and the music has been updated to faster beat song rather than this weird western music in the background start getting your blood flowing and stuff
Yeah, most of the stuff including the animation is great. It’s just that the camaraderie in the community as well as Chicago games created an awesome mod.
Great Review! I wonder if you should include a 'Value for Money' category, as I cannot believe you think Last Action Hero is a better game than Cactus Canyon, but I assume that is staying. So I guess it is also how much Cactus Canyon is worth against other machines?
Nice review. I had to check the date of the video because I thought you had reviewed this one before! Seems like a good game if you have young kids to keep it simple. I'm still waiting for CGC to release Medieval Madness. I guess their 2023 timeframe isn't happening and maybe we see it in 2024.
Another great video. I like the game but not enough to own it. I'll play it, if I happen across it. Just don't care for a fan layout. Same reason I'm passing on Venom. Are you going to be at Expo on Saturday this year.
Enjoy the review and understand your points, but for me I had money for one pin and wanted best bang for the buck. The build quality, CGC improvements large dmd apron ect. Already best value in pinball. Then factor in new code coming and for me LE first interactive topper that’s adds to gameplay no brainer. I’n a few years price will go up and hard to find
Great video. Maybe I missed it, but what game are you getting to replace CC? Maybe you are waiting for a big reveal…let me guess…Judge Dredd coming back :)
Wait on my CC special edition with topper (Guess you did not get that). My comment is on rules some more recent machines more complex rules means longer time to get into machine. I enjoy a machine that I just start play, enjoy and not worry about special combos or character features. Having played original and Cactus Canyon Continued both not complex but fun.
Oh well mate I think you're making a big mistake. I love my CC and I will never let it go never. To much fun the music the call outs. You can't shoot nothing, my wife is going to kill me, welcome to caucus I mean cactus canyon etc I do understand the space situation so I'll give you that. But we're talking about Cactus canyon mate Cactus canyon! Getting rid of CC imo is just sacrilege 😁 Can't wait to see what you've chosen over CC. Sacrilege lad sacrilege 🙂

@@skippychurch2965 fair enough. I haven't played it to form an actual opinion but my instinct tells me that it isn't worth the $2000 it costs. Layout 9/10 whoa, what would you consider a 10? I find this layout incredibly easy and rather boring to shoot after a few games, not a difficult shot on the whole playfield…..7/10 at best imo
It's not just the layout - it's including design. Mechs, and the whole playfield in general. If it was JUST the layout - it would rate much lower. It's a fan layout for crying out loud...
@@CaryHardy for me fun factor and innovation matter on a playfield layout( for a 9), I feel it’s lacking on this one….doesn’t give me that just one more game urge to shoot again.
@CaryHardy Yeah I understood that.. my comment was just my poor attempt at a joke... Post as in after and post as in a pinball post... then you hit 4 posts... so Post Edit .. Lol 😆 I might have just made myself smile with it..
I really don’t dig the alternative trans light used here. The artwork is fine it just (stylistically) clashes with the aesthetics of this game and the rest of the art package. It’s tonally jarring and while that might be fine with this remake I wouldn’t want to see it on the original as it doesn’t capture any feel of that 90s design charm, magic or appeal. The same goes for the modern art blades. Though I can see what they are going for trying to modernise the feel while undermining the original appeal

Just this week I see there is a game to play in the Topper. Hit 10x the beer, hit Big Bart and the Duel on topper starts.
