Flashlight noob here. But I believe that was corrected with the new light where the magnetic tail doesn't touch the positive/negative end. But this is good information to know for storage of such batteries which makes them dangerous. I'm happy the one I have can use different 18650 just need to be charge externally

Yikes! I really don't like 18650s at all for handheld lights (they're great for WMLs though).
