I loved seeing your swatch book. I have one also but mine is a little simpler. One thing I have added which I really enjoy is a zippered pencil case in the front. Inside I keep a small color wheel and a few pamphlets that I wanted to keep.

Wow,I have found my match! I'm extremely organized too (it gives me peace, it really does, it's my zen gardening if you will) and I'm just starting my swatch binder as we speak and thought I'd let some youtube videos play in the background of people showing their swatch books/binders etc. And I'm laughing because I made dividers too! I intend to seperate by mediums as well. This is so therapeutic. I've been feeling very depressed lately, to a point where I am at times dysfunctional and this is exactly what my mind needs right now, some control coupled with the feeling of productivity all while doing something enjoyable that is not too demanding. Thanks for sharing your swatches and organization tactics, when you said you would email out your lists, oh my gosh, you must have gotten so many requests... how kind of you to offer that, you really went out of your way being helpful. I'll definitely be subscribing and looking at some of your other videos, can't wait to see what else you have on your channel. But first, time to swatch 😊 Should only take a few days since I'm starting completely from nothing and will probably use all my weird different sized swatch cards to stick onto my pallets. Since I just started your video and don't know if you do this as well but another art youtuber I watch (emily artful) did something I really like a lot in concept: she made swatches for her pallettes in the size of the palette ca and laminated them and stuck them to the bottom of the palette with velcro so when she uses them she can just snap them off and they are extremely durable due to being laminated. I thought that was a brilliant idea and may make some additional palette specific swatchcards like that. I think it's especially useful for plein air painters. Anywho, long paragraph but wanted to share my thoughts. 🖌🎨 Edit: (some tips of sorts) -Wanted to also add, what I will be adding to my swatch binder is a color printout of the full range of available colors for that brand/collection so that way I can take note and see when it comes up, which color I want to add to my collection. Since I only have a black laserprinter I took screenshots with my phone eg of the full range of nevskaya palitra white nights and will be going to walgreens to print out a photo of that screenshot. I know it is possible to get these color charts for free from some retailers like jacksons but they were out of stock so I'll just invest the est 10 cents for a photo printout - also, because you had mentioned you can only send your lists in a msword format which I'm assuming is .doc or .docx, anybody who has a google account can use their free google docs which lets you open and edit all kinds of formats like excel spreadsheets or pdf or word documents. I was so happy to find that when I was a student that couldn't afford ms office - when making my swatch sheets, I cut a letter size piece of paper according to medium I'll be using and I will make enough squares for the entire color selection offered so that when I do expand what I have now I don't have to make a whole new sheet or add in colors out of order, I'll have some blanks inbetween now but I prefer that to having a green pop up somewhere after black. That would just irk me unbelievably 😂
All great suggestions. Thank you. I am in the process of converting all my color charts into pdf format and putting my TH-cam name down in the footer. And then I’m going to upload them to a shared folder on my Google Drive. So then I will provide a link in the description of my channel so everybody will have access to it. Because, yes, right now I’m getting a ton of requests. Which is ok - my way of giving back to my subscribers who support me and my channel.
My OCD sister I don't even have all my markers and pens yet (in the mail) but I have labels and I got paint swatches to try and match colors because many of the sets I got have no color names. I'm gonna spend a good part of today matching colors and making labels for the markers I have while I wait for the rest of my supplies and my swatch book to come in the mail. And after everything is finally named and properly labeled I will go on a swatch fest. I'm so excited. Now I'm not sure if when you say OCD you mean you actually are or if its just a saying, but I've been diagnosed for years and I understand you either way. Its so satisfying to have everything in an order that suites you.
Evan Sweeney no, I am not technically classified as OCD so I apologize if that offends you when I use that term. I certainly don’t intend to. That being said, I definitely love to swatch everything out and I’m meticulous in keeping them organized as well as my coloring supplies with everything being labeled, etc. It’s just kinda a thing I love to do for some reason. 😊

I have the new Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends. It takes a bit to figure out how to easily get to the middle value. I had been wishing for an easy way to carry my set (ALL 200#) of them. And this is the answer! I love the case. I wish I could use your color chart. I don't have MSWORD. I am a new subscriber. I recently saw your first post on the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends and subscribed. I enjoyed your video and look forward to more!!! And now I know how to set up my own swatch book. This is great.

Now what can I say … an artist’s bible! I am new to all this professional drawing but have only this week treated myself to 3 full sets of Derwents, Prismacolours, and Polycromos. I am yet to receive them but have to organise myself and do exactly what u have done. I am in complete awe. It satisfies the ocd in me also. Wondering if u printed on normal printer paper or do I source a special type? Also wondering if u can send me ur lists of pencils swatches. It’s ignited me to get organised from the get go. Wanting to thank you for this video. It’s very very very helpful and I now know what direction to go in. I also noticed u said that u keep your pencils in cases rather than the boxes / tins they come in. Can u perhaps show how u do this too. Organisation is the key to enjoyment. Woohoo! I am also a swatching queen so I really loved this video. I hardly have any pencils but I do have a TON of markers and they are all swatched. I bought some pre printed swatch books on Amazon and my 11 year old daughter designed covers for each, so I have alcohol markers in one book, water based markers in the second and glitter, metallics and gels in the third. I also did a lot of research on the Sharpie colours so I’d be really intrigued to see if your ones are the same as what I came up with. We maybe have different colour ranges though as I’m in the U.K.
Heather Webb my swatch book is getting so big that I’m tempted to split them into different binders too. If you send me an email, I can scan my Sharpie color chart and send it to you if you want.
My God woman, is there a pencil you don’t have? I love your book. I purchased a small set of pastel pencils and found that I like to work with the pastels. Would not mind a FC or Stabilo pastel pencil set. You must have a large room to store your stuff....I too have OCD but my house is small so.....I do not have a dedicated “woman cave” that I can call my own. Love my Bics too and have both sizes, the fine and regular tip.

The Chameleon markers seem fun and interesting, look forward to watching the videos you made on them as well. A couple questions: What is CreateSpace paper? Unfortunately, they could not copy over any of my programs to my new hard drive and I don't have my MSWord product key any longer so I can't reinstall MSOffice. I broke down and got a label maker. Couldn’t tell what pencils were in which case, and it was making me nuts. 😆 I don’t swatch. Heaven forbid if I ever do begin swatching..... I don’t have enough time to actually color as it is! 😝 Enjoyed listening and seeing your swatch books, tho. 👍
I did the Sharpie thingy too...😂😂😂...I’m really bad cos I put them in colour order with the Bic...did it with the Koi and Pitt pens...SN Illustrator and colorista...One day...I will do it right across every range...can you imagine?...😂😂😂
I would love for you to do some videos with pan pastels... I just received my set of 80 and I’m scared to use them lol. I still need to get the sets that did not come with the 80.... looking at your swatches I really like the colors in those sets! You would think for all the $ spent on the entire set that they would have included those :(. Please do videos soon using pan pastels....thanks
Shelly T the iridescent and metallic sets are gorgeous. Yes, you would think they should come with the 80 Set. I’m looking at getting the last 20 set (the extra darks) in the near future. I have a number of videos in the works yet before the Pan Pastels, but I will definitely be doing some. I’m scared to death to use them too for coloring as I’ve only used them for backgrounds so far. I guess we’ll learn together. Lol.
