In this review, I unbox the JBL Go 4, try the JBL Portable app, and record a sound test! I use professional binaural microphones, so for the best effect, wear headphones.
(Apologies - I kept saying it was 'splashproof', but it's actually waterproof!)

Great review and test mate! Could you compare sound quality between go4 and marshall willen? I owe willen and I think it looses some clarity on high volume... Thinking to replace it with go4...

Does the EQ setting stick if you connect to another device without the app? The Tribit goes back to default in those cases, which is annoying.
On the JBL Portable App, it remembers the EQ setting you selected from before.

Many speakers like this don't include mics anymore which is a shame. The Sony ULT Field 1 has a mic with echo cancellation: th-cam.com/video/5RW-4l54WCU/w-d-xo.html I need to feature the mic on speakers more often as I forget! I can see if I can record a demo

Should I go for JBL go 4 or the cheaper go 3?
go for a cheap go 3. then buu the go 4 when it's on sale.
Here are the main differences: The JBL Go 4 has a 1.75" vs. a 1.5" speaker, better battery life at 7 hours vs. 5 hours. Only the JBL Go 4 works with the JBL Portable App, plus lets you do multi speaker connection (Auracast). If these features are important, go for the Go 4, if not, get the Go 3 on sale.

You speak so much over the music where I am trying to listen to. and u keep moving it... only the final chapter "sound test" is useful.

I must be getting old. Every review of every speaker is completely absent of the time when real music existed, lol. This stuff isn't music, it's brainless drivel with no character or humanity to it.
