I really enjoy your videos dude. Keep the great angling videos coming , you're a good angler you also have an honest personality , its refreshing to see such a good combination 👌.🎣
I really enjoy your videos. No Pike down here in Florida though. Have to go back up north to find them. Thanks for another enjoyable fishing adventure!
Here in Ontario I would be happy with minus one, it's not "bitterly " cold until it's minus twenty. I really miss the length of British rod handles, handles here are half the length, that's why I use a 9' Abu Atlantic Zoom from the 70s. Great video as always though.
You e inspired me to keep going back out, still no pike after three or four trips☹️, but they’ll come eventually. Getting great kicks from seeing several perch following to the bank
Just great, I love the fact that you catch wild fish in a natural environment. Brilliant and I can only imagine that you don't catch fish with names!! Really enjoy your channel
Them rods are good. But the weatin w4 is better in my eyes, got the Cs rocket reel now and bloody hell its a cast canon 😂 lost a lure on first cast, a bit to far and ended up in a tree 150 meters down canal 😂
You didn't specifie the name of the PB Species Chris, now can't wait. Not a bad day after all, with very difficult conditions. Still, getting anything on the bank Is a bonus now.
Agreed awesome channel 😉👍 ...as for the pike fishing 😱 nope...just nope 😂 the reason behind that thought is I was about 8 or 9 and I caught a 28 pounder on the river 7 at bridgenorth ....Needless to say I shat myself 😂 I'd never seen a pike that big never mind landing one ....I could fit my head in its gob 🤔 been scared ever since 😬 I'm now 43 ...unless anyone wants to take me pike fishing I ain't going on my chuffing own 🤪🙏
Thats difficult, becaus the Carp rod´s are often really big and heavy.... but hey you can tray it, just put a lure on and go for it..... fishing is all about trying new thing ^^
SE you can use a carp rod whilst spinning/lure fishing, but carp rods are usually 12’ long and they get heavy on your arm after a short while. I use mine for mackerel fishing for winter deadbaiting. They cast for miles and reach more fish but your arm soon hurts.
No problem at all using a Carp rod & why waste money on Lure rod it it turns out that you don't like it. Carp rods are better on lake's because of the rod length limit's you on those small tight swims you get Canal and River fishing. I used a Carp rod for lure fishing for years and it never bothered me.
High, I have seen a few of your videos, always interesting to watch and learn from. When you are going for pike, do you go braid to wire trace and do away with the fluro carbon 🤔. If you're looking for Perch, using fluro carbon, how does it fare if a pike should come along 🤔. My crimbo prezzy is going to be a Savage gear sg4 trigger 12 / 32 gram, that i will be teaming with a cast king, so hopefully I will be good for perch/ pike/ Bass. Again pleasure to watch your vids all the best 👍 Les.
If Chris doesn't answer I might be able to help. Using braid and then down to wire trace is best as no pike can bite through that. If a pike comes along when using fluro its less likely to bite through it than mono but a small thinner wire trace maybe one of 8lb will be ideal. That combo is great and you should manage the larger pike on that fine 👍
To Jake R, cheers and thanks for your help, did not know his name but do now. Was wondering though 🤔 what neck of the woods does he hail from ? And where he fishes 🐟. Thanks again.
Hi Leslie. To be safe, I would always recommend braid to wire trace. With fluro, there is always a chance (albeit small compared to mono) that a pike could snap you off. Where I fish there's an abundance of zander and their teeth are sharper on the edges and would snap fluro every other time, whereas a pike is rounded but with a sharp point. At the end of the day, the very last thing you want is to leave a pike with a hook in its mouth - that could well be a death sentence for her
@@lchambee modern hooks are biodegradable that’s why if you deep hook a fish and can’t get the hook out you snip the line as you do more damage trying to get the hook out
Though I'd clicked on a rude video with all the "steady pace, jerking it, twitching it and smashing it from behind". Haha. Love your videos, they're mint!
Sometimes i can walk up to 5 or 6 miles in a session. When i was searching for carp in the summer i was making 14 mile round trips on the canal. Hard work this fishing business
@@The_ginger_fisherman I've fished that canal since I was 6 I'm now 50 it's always given fantastic sport it's a real gem and under 20 quid for a season ticket .sadly as you've discovered you rarely see anyone fishing it they'd rather fish commercials where they can park behind there peg. great vids looking forward to the next one 👍
I really love your Videos, btw i am also a Ginger ^^ But please do me the favor and don't use re-hooks if you don't take the fish with you..... Greetings from Austria !!!
Miliicius what do you mean by re-hooks? Ginger is one of the best pike anglers on you tube and also the most compassionate. He would never do anything to intentionally harm the welfare of a fish. If you watch more of his videos you will clearly see that. Greetings from Scotland.
Chris Is well aware of how Fragile these Fish are, even If they do look mean and tough. It Is Illegal to take fish from any water, Unless You have Permission from the Owners, Catch And Release only In the UK.
I love these videos, but man do I hate you. I have had five weekends without a bite. 2 months since I started and I have yet to see never mind see a pike. Its really frustrating
Right people's how is 'lure' pronounced. Seen this on a few videos now and its kind of annoying. To me it's said (lurr) not (law). Must be a northern thing?

Hi Chris, great video as usual. Can those plastics take a bit of a hammering
I’m ginger to and I’m a fisherman 👊🏻
Cool...
Great video again good luck with your next I know nothing about pike fishing could you use a carp rod for lure fishing stay lucky mate
Of course you could use a carp rod, but there is much to love about modern lure fishing rods. And they aren't necessarily a right lot of money.
Thats difficult, becaus the Carp rod´s are often really big and heavy.... but hey you can tray it, just put a lure on and go for it..... fishing is all about trying new thing ^^
You could try a dead bate too, this should work very well ! :D

No worries mate. I'm not to sure but I think it's East way somewhere near Peterborough but I could be wrong.

I hope it's a 30 plus pike in the next video!

Do you have the video from "on the bank" or if not can you fish that bridge again :-)
I just cant catch anything on my river ive been on a huge blanking streak is there any tips on winter piking for rivers
Hey nice Video👍 But why you dont eat fish?
Ahoy is sunshine bad for fishinf?
my biggest pike in the canal is 22lb, great day
Though I'd clicked on a rude video with all the "steady pace, jerking it, twitching it and smashing it from behind".

It would be interesting to know how many steps you do because knowing them sections you covered atleast 2 miles

Nice amount of blood creeping out the gill covers while you are posing for the camera
Nope that's my blood. I was chinning that side when i landed it you can see by the state of my knuckles
3:36 slamming it from behind
Would you like come to Finland for fishing?
It's freezing mush
Rod link isnt correct. Throw me just to their homepage. would like to know what rod it is..
You did really well to catch anything in those conditions Chris. I was wondering if you got out in the snow we had...?
We had some snow, but not enough to make a snowman
C'mon visit Poland and try to. catch anything. Impossible😔
