    That beach in Iceland is called by the locals " Chinese Take Away" because every year people are taken by the waves and mostly they are Chinese ...

    It's funny how a common reaction to seeing enormous power being displayed is to laugh uncontrollably.

    • @jackhearts7957
      @jackhearts7957 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      That's because laughter is not just a sign of endearment but also submission! Only when you realize it's not working it turns to fear and screams like you see in those old tv shows about accidents, y'know? "They were all having fun, until blah blah happened!"

      @@jackhearts7957 Brilliant. I'd add that laughter is being used in this situation to mask fear, to deny a dangerous reality: that those people are nothing compared to the unsurmountable power of the ocean threatening their lives

    It’s interesting to see peoples’ reactions to how quickly the surf changes and their inexperience. Luckily it looked like everyone got to dry sand. (I was telling them the whole time to back up).

    I think they were back far enough in this instance and were only in danger of getting a wet boot.

    Sneaker waves are waves that go backwards from the shore back into the break, not a wave that comes a bit further up on the beach.

      A sneaker wave, also known as a sleeper wave, or in Australia as a king wave, is a disproportionately large coastal wave that can sometimes appear in a wave train without warning.

    The beach is an ideal place to play footies with waves as that is one of my favorite pastimes but if you have no interest in playing “in the waves” so to speak, it behooves you to keep a good and I mean a really good safe distance from the waves, for example if you going to be sitting a a rock playing a guitar or some kind of music as an example, it had better be a good safe distance from waves. Maybe what I am trying say is that unless you are one of those who like getting wet and playing in the water fully clothed, you had better keep a good safe distance from the waves.

    No ¨Danger¨ signs for visitors?

    • @avis0099
      @avis0099 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At most visited site (which is that on the video) there are multiple danger sings in different languages and even light sign that shows green, yellow and red light depending on level of danger.
      There is also a map that shows the line that you shouldnt cross depending on the level of danger.

    at this moment go to land. This is very dangerous. Nobody should ever be there when the tide is high. And never bring your kids to a shore in Iceland. If you dont know it before.
    Just follow common sense, Southern caost of Iceland is more dangerous. stay away from south coaststs, use your head with tidea and so on, lknow when its going to be hugh or low tide. and please never bring your kids to dangerous thingsl just use you judgement.

      @@safe-keeper1042 I looked it up you moron, its a large wave in a train of other waves, so I was absolutely correct. You could see it coming from a thousand feet away and have plenty of time to get out of the way. Now don't tell me to look up what a sneaker wave is because I know what one is and I was 100% correct.

      As beautiful as Tahiti is, I doubt the landscape is anything similar to Iceland. Just because the sand has the same color doesn't mean it can be compared.
