I should probably not admit how deeply I am touched by the music written by this beautiful soul. I am completely swept away and tears run down my cheeks.
dude you're not the only one. she has that impact on me too. she is transcending. i love composers like this :) especially coming from a child, because they are so pure.
absoftitanium ive been posting her links to tori amos videos hoping she can draw from tori. i think they have her a bit too programmed and when that happens the composers work becomes affected. she needs to find her own voice (musically) and stay with that. if there's any living composer today she could draw from for inspiration with the exact same ability as her its Tori Amos.
absoftitanium well that's good. i'm not hating on her, her demeanor just comes across very proper, but it's silly to judge a book by its cover. Emily is at the perfect age now to actually get into Toris music. especially the lyrics. i was 13 when i started listening to Tori and her music changed my life for the better. i couldn't have asked for a better person to look up to and learn from :)
What's in a name?! Clearly Emily does not have "Native American" ancestors, she is descended from European ancestors. As my grand daughter Chloe recently married John Sedgbeer this started me thinking. Here, in England, we have Bere Regis (Regis indicates "Royal" connections).and also there is the village of Beer in East Devon. The "Pilgrim Fathers" sailed from Plymouth in 1620. Could there have been an inhabitant of Beer on board? Rockford, Illinois is close to Pennsylvania, the state founded by The Pilgrim Fathers. Through new laws in Britain designed to protect the privacy of the individual, it has become very difficult to trace anybody's ancestry. But I am sure that The Pilgrim Fathers hold the clue to Emily's Surname. It would be so interesting to find out and because of my grand daughter's marriage, I may now be tenuously related to Emily.

i dunno i just dont take her mother for the type who would expose her to an artist who sang about masturbation/rape/religious oppression
