abdulqudz89, I'm very disappointed with the one that we don't know what the husband saw inside the cabin. In fact, I would have never posted it on my website and for my part, I'm so disgusted I'm forced to give a thumbs down on the entire group of stories.

These stories give a whole new meaning to the phrase "adventure in the great outdoors." Fall hiking trips are usually synonymous with beautiful foliage and crisp air, but these eerie accounts really put into perspective how vast and unpredictable nature can be. Huge kudos to you for sharing these chilling tales and combining them seamlessly with a touch of lightheartedness about your language learning journey with Babbel. Americans: Australia is so scary because spiders and snakes how do you survive? Also Americans: so I went for a hike and a cougar stalked me, a wolf pack chased me up a tree and I had to pepper spray a bear. And at the end of all that some creep with a gun shot at me.

Regarding the hiking/church story, Adirondack Mountains are connected to the Underground Railroad. Very possible the church kept them there safe, warm and fed when not on the River or walking. Yikes, that story about the husband and the house in the woods was profoundly irritating. What the hell was so terrifying he couldn’t sleep for years? I think I have been to the church that you’re talking about in that story!! I loved exploring the Adirondack area and I found a place just like that! So cool to hear your story
Seriously! Did he hear someone get murdered? Or people describing murder and torture? I can't think of anything worse, but it had to be something horrible to give him such PTSD. It's also really important he tell SOMEONE, at least a therapist, because talking about trauma is huge in healing.
I was thinking about the story with the church and the hole in the ground and I wonder if it was some sort of underground railway at some point. What state was it in?
Story #7 : Everyone is to blame here. When a place is CLOSED, it means it is CLOSED. Nobody is supposed to go in there. OP's husband for going into a place where he's not supposed to be at and OP for not dragging her husband back to his senses, not to go into that building to see what he saw. They were both acting like two spoilt, rebellious teenagers going to some place where they're not supposed to be and seeing things they are not supposed to see. They say, "Curiosity kills the cat." Well, the husband's curiosity has killed his sleep system. Now he has his insomnia from whatever he saw and doesn't want to tell OP his wife. If he doesn't seek help, it might eventually cause their marriage. Sad

They usually have everything Christmas related on the shelves by the end of September. My Walmart has Christmas all set by middle September. I love Summer so I absolutely hate seeing Christmas so early. It makes me feel like summer is already over.
I really wonder what the husband saw in the 7th story, the only thing I can really think of is that it must have been something really, really bad, something that no one was supposed to see. I guess we'll never know.
His wife should get him some professional help. I know a lot of people refuse that kind of stuff but he seems to really struggle. I couldn’t watch my partner live in terror.
