- Sometimes I start with less than 100hp, but no hp is lost in the boss fights themselves.
1. Le Raux. When he's backed against a wall he slides forward and stabs you. Just keep him away from walls and spam high slash attacks.
2. Katherine. One of the hardest bosses for this type of challenge. Like LeRaux, keep her in the middle of the arena. If she gets close to a wall she uses her cartwheel attack.
3. Wolvington. Get in close ASAP. If he starts spamming magic attacks you'll definitely take damage. The idea behind the pistol shots is to distract him so that he can't do that. When close, alternate between hitting him and ducking his return slash, his patterns are predictable.
4. Gabriel. Pretty hard. I got lucky when I was playing him. I narrowly missed bombs twice, and barely avoided mid-air collision with a Red Tail Guard.
5. Marrow. LONG. Be wary of mental fatigue. The parrot can be hit with a sword or bullets (the advantage of using a sword is that it doesn't cause Marrow to start shooting back at you), I used bullets for this one.
6. Aquatis. Really easy. There's no unpredictability, you just go ahead and execute a strategy. Zuczek throws dynamite from the shore, and that's probably the better way, but I'm used to throwing from the brick so that's what I did here.
7. Red Tail. Kind of a luck based fight. If he throws knives down at you you'll get hurt, if he uses his wind power you'll get hurt, if he does neither of those things you can get up on the platform, jump like crazy, and pray. I nearly take damage at the end. He whips out his pistol and is a frame or two away from shooting when I land that final blow.
8. Omar. So many things are trying to hurt you, and it's long as hell. I have the 1.3 patch which means Omar takes 4 hits to kill (instead of 8 or 10 or whatever). Pistol shots will distract him and stop him firing magic blasts.

Before my grandpa passed away I used to go over to his place and play this game. He was a computer engineer and he installed this game on his computer so I would have something to do when I went over to his place. Love playing this game and remembering him.

Sadly, I got stuck on the third boss. That guy was insaneley hard!

I got stuck with this game and had to come back to it after at least a year 4 times before I was actually able to beat the game. I don't know what I did with the disk, but I will look for it again. This game did 'challenging' right.

i could complete 8 levels without cheat codes, after that i always had to use cheat codes 😬😅
If you want to know how I did it, I played this game nonstop from ages 7-10 and 15-18, playing every level dozens of times, and now I know this game like the back of my hand. I wish I'd done something more useful, like learn trigonometry, haha.

I remember the day I beat the last boss after trying to discover how to do it for a long time when I was a little kid. When I finally did it, the big and last Diamond was there for me to catch it but I was so excited that I missclicked my final jump and fell into the lava. I screamed SO loud and pulled my hair SO hard that I ripped some of them of my head LMAO. I thought i had to do it all over again but no, the diamond was still there when I revived :D

My biggest fail in this game (when i decided to do a run without any cheats or glitch abuse.. the most famous the one with Gabriel and the one in the caves where you skip 90% of the level) was after i finally defeated Omar after loading about 15 times to the last checkpoint i jump and i fell in the lava pit and could not collect the last gem and had to start the fight over again and i was so damn happy i beat him i forgot about the lava going up and well...
***** The last level is just toooo damn hard. I mean others aren't as easy, but with trial and error you can pull it off. The last level though needs a lot of luck especially between the last checkpoint and Omar.

10 years ago, I was stuck at him for months! Both me and my cousin, who is 3 years older. I eventually, in a very lucky day, managed to win finally! And when later she came around, she was absolutely extatic when I showed her Aquatis, Gabriel, Red Tail and Omar! :D

B.Wack Is it wrong that I find even Omar easier? At least when he throws his magig, it is super slowed down. Wolvington is prtty much throwing infinite magic claws!

#1 Bro'mamaia Claw Recluse is good. It's a fan-made site, I checked it with antivirus. You can download Claw there, but don't worry, it's no longer sold so it technically isn't piracy.
That damn Red Tail was so different for me... He was much more aggressive with his ranged weapons and was constantly jumping onto me, damaging me every time -.-
must be version 1.0....even i suffered with that boss and stupid wolvington.....they were tough as balls in v1.0
Shreyas Murali I never had any problems with Wolvington, I'd just pick him up, throw him in the corner and keep going aggro on his ass. Red Tail, however, always pwns me ._.
What is even more amazing is the fact that you started most fights in full health. I must hand it to you, you are an export in this.

Man, when I played this game I defeated Gabriel simply by taking that "glittering rat" before facing him. As my ability to jump was improved, I simply jumped up there and cast him in the sea...
Matheus Marins i did the same.i would jump up and hit him with a sword.Ofc...you would miss 95% of time but who cares.He was doing nothing all the time.

I dont know about you guys but I had more fun with this game than any other now days games.
It would be an interesting challenge. On some levels it would be impossible though. Like level 14, sometimes you can't avoid getting hit by fireballs.

3. Wolfington drowning in a sewer or something gory.

In "The Chase" we see Claw standing over a dead body before boarding a ship. The body isn't identified, but it's after the level 8 boss fight so it could only be Gabriel. Otherwise, there's only 3 bosses that appear in the cutscenes (Le Raux, Red Tail, Omar). A shame we don't see any of the others.

Man this game was one of my favorite in the childhood, when I was 7 years old me and my friends had really hard time against Wolvington and struggled months to beat it

This game was awesome.One of the best old style games Ive played.
And Wolvington was the one giving me the most troubles out of them. Mostly because prior to him Le Raux & Catherine could be defeated easily just by spamming attacks so I did not realize I would have needed special trick to beat him.
The best way to deal with Wolvington was,of course, got close to him first,then pick him up and throw him to the wall.Once you have him cornered everything you have to do is spamming your attack while ducking.
i remember dying and dying with Wolvinton and finally accidently beat him easily by ducking. it wasnt intentional but i made it. the next boss was easy but i got stuck in the underwater cavern where you needed to do an extra long jump to get across. thats where i broke and cheated to see what happens in the end.

I think the highest emotion of this game was the LeRauxe battle, with that music and the phrase "I'ts payback time, LeRauxe!".... I jumped on him so angry. Amazing game!

I believe Marrow was voiced by late Rick May, who voiced the soldier class in Team Fortress 2.
Upon checking the IMDB page for Claw he appears on the cast page, but with no mention of the specific role. Upon taking a listen to some of the voice lines within the files trying to pick out some of his characteristics, my bet is Marrow and the Crazy Hook Pirate, as well as some of the grunts of the Soldier in levels 1 and 2 (this would be a very interesting happenstance, as then he would have voiced the soldier both in Claw and TF2).
If that is the case, then it is so crazy to me that they managed to cram so much vocal talent in this game and it makes me even more sad it never received mainstream attention.
It's like impossible to have that much bullets without completing the game already or using cheats or saving them up from the beginning

I am really glad that someone else discovered my little secret with throwing Gabriel. I love throwing ability and even had little competitions of my own to use only throwing and no other weapons for entire levels. Yeah Gabriel can be thrown, and I even managed to throw him a second before releasing diamond, which made him release it in the air a moment before drowning :D RedTail also can be thrown, though I managed to lift him only once, during his after fight talk.
This is nostalgic, in 2022!

My twin cousins and I usually play this 10 years ago.
with my approach run towards him & use the key to lift objects (by default it is z key...the same key which you have been using to throw the cans of explosives ) and go to the end of the right screen leaving a gap of two three steps from the wall and throw him by releasing the same key again...go near him and now duck and hit with sword for as many times as required he wont be able to harm you... my 8 year old cousin gave this suggestion when i was playing this game for the first time in 2000 :P

Very nice fights, I am really amazed by the way you fought Katherine (This was my childhood game and I played it hundred times and knew every corner!). I ALWAYS took some injuries when I fought her. Wolvington was a pretty cheap boss, I used to defeat him way very similar to yours without getting hurt. And about RedTail video - you obviously had a lot of luck there. It is only possible to defeat RedTail without injuries when he just happends not to use wind and specials and thats what happend :D

I just started playing this game again, just brings back all the memories. I also used something similar trick for beating Aquatis, you wouldnt need to stand so close to him, you can simply throw a grenade from the very end. First I couldn't get to Gabriel, then I couldn't get to Aquatis, then Red Tail was in the way and finally I couldn't get to Omar.
Those are all different playthroughs I did when I was a kid and I'm sad I never really beat the game...
Remembering that this was so long ago that I searched for tips and cheats on "not google" (whatever the search engine was).
A platformer by Monolith Software sounds just as painful as I would imagine. In a good way.
