    Cory, your looking like a kid in his first fish store, "I want this fish.. no these fish". This is what makes me proud of you, because you have never lost that love of all fish and respect of nature. Your new house and property looks fantastic. This new blank canvas will give your creative mind many new concepts and creations. I see that you were eyeing that pond.

I was so afraid to overfeed the Aquariums that I underfeed. Now the last 2 Month I stared feeding at least 4times as much as I was feeding before and the fish look so much more healthier. And again today learnd a lot from this video! thanks

    Your "nature knows best" ideology is so good. Literally dozens of tanks of proof that nature works. I read a ton online when i jumped into the hobby and i felt this channel has contributed to so much to my growth as a fish keeper. Im buying less meds, doing less changes, doing less additives, and feeding more while my parameters are doing so good with little intervention compared to a year ago.

    • @philxdev
      @philxdev 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won´t say it was a conspiracy by the aquarium industry, because it wasn´t.. but all this "knowledge" about additives, water changes, filters and the mindset of running the tanks like an this does come from the "entry point" to the hobby and the convenience products and knowledge base created for that hobby over the years.. most people have to start at some point and some just want to have a little tank enjoying some fish and they are far from having the determination to dive deeper into the hobby.. so casuals tend to not get to the point of running their tanks as ecosystems as there is some learning curve to it, not that it is some unachieveable rocket science type of deal, but yeah you at least need to have an eye on it and some basic understanding.

    I love seeing all your ponds and tanks that are complete ecosystems because that is my main goal on my tanks. Having that complete cycle down i think is far healthier and happier for your fish and plants. It also feels good to be able to look at my own tanks and see and know that because of the care and attention i put in, it has truly created a wonderful home for my fish and plants. This I strive for each and every day with my tanks because of your videos.

    Never, ever, ever, ever will I get upset about long grass.... I love that native red clover and the Dutch clover is great, too. Bees love it. My yard is so solid with bees in the clover that it looks like it is moving. You can get dizzy if you look at it long enough.
    If you have to cut it, leave it! Native plants dig into the soil and your ecosystem becomes more diverse.
    My neighbors mention it, but I just assume they love the variety, too.

    I love this! I have a Pompon, or Pompom goldfish and a small suckerfish in a very large tank. I'm growing duckweed that I'll put in there later. I love my happy little fish, and this is very helpful information. The goldfish recognizes my face, because I'm the only one who feeds him. He doesn't get excited when anyone else comes near the tank. But as soon as he sees me, he starts wagging his body rapidly, then he goes to the top of the tank, for his food, as soon as I hold the container up to the tank. I shake the container every time, because I know fish can actually hear things like that. He even recognized me when I had heavy Halloween makeup on.

    We got two of those little snails (pond snails) on a plant we got from aquarium co-op, and we let them multiply and we love them so much. They are so fun to watch!! My betta loves to flare at them. We have now moved them into all of our tanks. It is shocking how clean my tank looks and my plants look great! I didn't know they can move that fast as well. I even put several into the tank I'm cycling now to help. They are so tough but have not been a nuisance at all. I saw your other video where you said to stop feeding as much and it will help reduce the population if they get too much. Thank you!! Love all our plants and our snails!!

    I think Cory is a little excited to have hard water. After having soft water for so many years.

      My live-bearers love hard water. Been keeping them since I was a teenager and always wondered what I was doing wrong...finding out about water hardness was the game-changer!

    I love how you call it an ecosystem. That is the approach I try to take with my tanks. I have been in the hobby for 10+ years and I am always learning new things. I have a 120 gallon custom system that I built 5 years ago, 20 gallons of that is the sump with media and such. I do a water change and big clean once a year and the fish are happy. Never have any issues. I am starting to experiment more with live plants. I have trumpet, ramshorn and pond snails. Love those little guys and they make the perfect tank mates for my shrimp. Great videos and I always find them helpful. Thanks ;-)

    This was a great "last tour." I've been watching a while but a new subscriber. Been keeping aquariums on and off for over 30 years and I still learn from your videos. Thanks!

    Another great video. I loved seeing each tank and containers. Love the ones that don't get water changes and take care of themselves. I love how you reuse the dirty fish water for your garden plants. I do that to my flower beds in the front of the house due to having 3 of my tanks in the living room near the front door. They do better than the flower beds around the side and back of the house that just get well water. I do use plant ferts on all the flower beds and potted plants of coarse. Congratulations on all the progress in your move. That's a huge job but I know it will be outstanding when you finish. Best wishes on all you do Cory. Great job as usual!!!

    I thought I was the only one that put salt in fresh water, I've seen the color comes out in the fish better even . I'm glad I've heard it from a fish lover.

    I love the material concept that Cory is emphasizing. ECOSYSTEMS. I've been keeping fish for almost my entire life and I always reverted back to my middle school science class fundamentals. I've always set up ecosystems with basic SAND, SHOP LIGHTS or NO CO2 and the internet police always call BS. But glad to see science works!!!...LOL
