Thanks for posting this. Quite often I just want to make a mess and be free to make nothing in particular …it’s nice to see someone else enjoying the same process.
The fact that you're so content in yourself to unapologetically post the creation of something so widely regarded as ugly is inspiring. Then you've hit like on comments ❤ taking the piss is a level of emotional elevation that is yet again....inspiring. Hold your head up high. This is brilliance.
Thank you! Art really is a personal preference. Some will enjoy the "ugly" and others are confronted with their ideals of beauty. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
At first I thought this must be some sort of joke channel and that my children have created better art than that, but then I realised how much joy they got from just slapping paint onto paper, regardless of whether it turned out like a dogs dinner. Think I'll let them get the paints out and make a mess today. 😄
That is why using paper from the recycling bin works great! It's a free resource and your kids will have the freedom of expression. Hopefully you join in with them as well.
@@lisaelvin8463 I recommend starting with the intention to only play and explore. I know if I tell myself, "I must make this look nice." It actually looks worse and I lose the joy of creating.
Pretty? Ugly? It's all a matter of opinion, isn't it? Remember on Project Runway when Tim Gunn would encourage success by simply saying, "make it work."

Delighted this has encouraged you to make a mess and not be precious about materials.
People forget that art is about discovery, not just well rendered images. It's about the joy of play and intimacy. It's about humanity.
Exactly, play is for everyone!
I use a lot of papers painted like this to collage. Beautiful
Thank you!

I do! 😊 In the past I've always tried to make my art turn out as nicely as I could but I'm going to try this now. It must be cathartic.

I just have a question for you do you make money off of your paintings? They are beautiful.
Yes, I sell my paintings on my website at bmpatterson.com
