I did this a few Thanksgiving ago. My entire family of 12 put their hand all on one big canvas. It was great and now hangs at my folks house with everyone’s imprint. 😊
Do you throw these cups after every pour? If you do reuse, how do you clean your cups. I would be would be nervous about the dried flakes getting on my painting. . . Thank you young Sir.
Haha...I think it would have been hilarious to see you do this without a glove...just to watch you squirm. That turned out realy cool though! Great cells and whatnots!
At first I was like... What? Doing a ring pour over your hand?! But, so cool Brian. I think it turned out fantastic and the movement in there is great!
This is so cool to watch Brian. It made me giggle when you first poured it. What fun and a great experiment. Live how playful you were with this. I see the tide rolling out feeling. Great job! 🥰🎨
I really liked the untouched way. It had the form of where your wrist ended that was really nice. Than as you kept going I noticed it looking like a cup that was really nice. You kept going than I lost a bit of interest. Really loved your yellow and blue fir the extending I just loved it with just a little bit of the extention without loosing that effect.
I’m probably one of the few, living at the beach that actually likes the smell of low tide marsh! 😂 This turned out really cool Brian! I still say, I’d love to have seen how the glove dried bc the lines on it were really cool as well! It was fun having you join us my friend!! 🤗💕
Thank you Treesie. I loved living on the water but yea that smell was harsh. lol. As for the glove, i did try to take it off and let it dry but I couldn't get it off my hand. The glove ripped with every step of taking it off.
@@Studio15Acrylics That’s why you’re known for giving the best hugs ever! Those big ole hands and strong arms…Not to mention all the love you put behind your hugs! Hope to see you again soon my friend, I’m in need of one of those bear hugs! Much love!💕
When I chose to watch this video, it's specifically because it seemed like finger painting. One of my earliest memories (and one of the earliest videos of me in 1969 ... yikes) is of finger painting at the kitchen table. I now teach acrylic pouring classes at a 50+ center, and even before I clicked on the video, I thought I could do a class called "Painting On Your Inner Child". I'm excited to see how it turns out. Before I even watch, I feel like it's missing the joy of feeling the paint pour over your hand in a glorious mess. I understand gloves, but I've been painting in acrylic for most of my life and I finger paint a lot. It's a sensory thing ... but the clean up can be a bit of a hassle. That's okay, skin washes ... mostly. Watching now. First thing I noted is that you used a popsicle stick to spread the "flow extender". If this is a finger painting thing, why didn't you use your fingers? If you don't mind my asking, how are your paints mixed? I honestly didn't know how it would turn out with mixing the army green with yellow and blue, but it worked out! Made some pretty browns in places, but you know, over all (having grown up in the South), it really does capture the marsh colors. But for me, the blue would represent the sky, not the water. I also really like the peek-a-boo Pthalo green. I'd like to have seen a bit more of it for the contrast, but paint does what it does. Thanks for a great video and a great idea.
Thank u for your comment. I chose to pour over my hand as my “finger painting” as to set myself apart from the others in the collaboration. These paints are leftovers so hey had different consistencies.
Really nice piece I liked it before you started tilting with the flow extender surrounding it too - love the end result though and never thought I'd see anyone pour over they're hand with such beautiful results 👍🏻
I love the colors n design! I started working with fluid art that was something I did too! I love the feeling of having the glove on n that cold paint hits ur hand 👏 it actually feels good n it's fun! Happy New year Brian. Lots going on , hence my lil visits. I'm going around the board today! Have a good one Hun! 😊
The dried results were great! I don’t like wrecking either unless it’s a bad pour and a last resort. Why wreck a pretty piece? That practice piece is awesome too. ❤
This pour over a hand was not the first time Brian. I think the idea comes (if I remember well) from Mixed Media Girl. I saw her did this technique somewhere in early 2023. Go check her videos out in her TH-cam channel
I have no idea who she is and when i did a search for Over the hand pour fluid art, nothing came up. Oh well, no skin off my back. Nobody owns a pour but thank you for letting me know so i can reference her if I ever do the pour again. 🤩🤩
Total beginner here. Could you have still manipulated the paint without having to add the additional custom yellow and baby blue ones? Just looks like you poured most of these two off and why I ask. Also, how were you able to create the cells on this?
the reason you pour paint around is the paint acts as flow extender. By doing this your pour will flow over the canvas. Without it, the paints will roll over themselves. Cells happens because of different density of paints. The paints interact with each other and come to the surface creating the cells.
😂😂 If you've ever done something like this you know your hand print will not keep. You're covering the canvas with paint and then manipulating the paint for a final result. Also, this was a painting collaboration with my friends which gets explained. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Mixed Media Girl does this, she calls it a "Turkey Pour" (referring to drawing around your hand to make a turkey in kindergarten).
That's great. Thank you for telling me.

@@Studio15Acrylics yes I edited it, sorry for that… I always confuse these two artists…. Amanda does great paintings as well BTW 😉
Question??? Your paint looks very thick going into the cup. What was it mixed with
Most of the colors were mixed weeks or months ago but most are 1 part gloss medium, 3 parts paint and 4-5 parts Floetrol.
How do you know when you should use a pillow or base paint when pouring?
It’s personal preference.

At the beginning I seen a Sting Ray fish in the ocean
nice but handprint is gone. Was it worth it to go through that?

I am watching, but one thing I noticed is you have your table covered, but there are droplets of water. Is there a reason for that? Thx.
it’s not water. It’s dried resin. I resined the day before and rather waste the plastic I just kept it down
Traducción al español, please!!
Mixed Media Girl calls this a Turkey pour.
You could have wiped your glove on the edges, and not wasted so much of that paint.
So I’ve heard.
That’s ok.
