Yeah, when you lead the league in total TD, Total Yards and account for 86% of your teams scores, thats your MVP. Lamar was only 52% and Allen had a better QBR as well.

Lamar was pulled way more than Josh because Baltimore was dominating teams way more than Buffalo. Josh was getting stats because of having to pass heavy to stay in shootouts in which Buffalo got very lucky with last year.

Been a fan of the bills since 1964. It has been torture, but Buffalonians are a resilient crew.
Without out a doubt Allen is the best thing that has ever happened to the bills.
Mahomes has Super Bowl wins that puts him in an elite group.

Since Week 1 of last season Allen has 56TD and 23 turnovers. Mahomes has 38TD and 22 turnovers. One gets called a a turnover machine. One gets fellated by Tony Romo for miffing it in to the dirt.

Pat's out there Trent Edwardsing the Chiefs to a 3-0 start while Josh has just been taking over games this season. I'm only half-joking when I say you could probably slot Josh in at linebacker, and he'd be the best player on that side of the ball. Admittedly I'm a Bills fan, and am of course biased. However, it's hard to really make the case that Josh Allen isn't the best QB in the league right now. It's Mahomes, and Allen for sure, but Mahomes has been off to a pretty slow start. Josh has been incredible. Even in the slower game against Miami, he threw it when they needed some JA magic, but let the running game take over. I love that version of JA where he doesn't always need to carry the team on his back but instead let everyone get their touches and time to shine.
The big question with Mahomes/Allen is when it comes to playoff time. JA hasn't really been bad in the playoffs. He's actually been incredible, and definitely on the same level of Mahomes with the beautiful game saving drives he comes up with. But the Chiefs team has been coached extremely well. They really step it up when it's needed, and the Bills somewhat drop back and crumple a bit, especially on defense. This year, it looks like that weak spot has been hardened and the team has become a lot more resilient. Defense looks good, offense is rolling, and Josh Allen looks as confident as ever.
Time will tell if this type of play is brought with them into the playoffs. They have the experience now. No more excuses for this team. It's time to get it done. And with JA throwing the ball, anything is possible.
One is the nfl golden boy where they help them so much in so many different situations and one is just pure raw talent with no help from the league

The thing that constantly holding Josh Allen back from a ring is the Bills' trainer staff... so many major injuries to key players. Especially at the worst times.
Better than Mahomes
The big difference between these two QBs is that Allen has slightly worse stats with a by far worse offense and carriers his team a lot more. Mahomes can also run like almost ever QB nowadays but Allen is on of the if not the best Rushing QBs of all time so I would not agree that these QBs are identical or very similar.
Respect for Josh Allen, he's a force to go up against. This is coming from a life long Chiefs fan. As great as Josh Allen is, his post season record is why Mahomes is better than him. I think he will win a Super Bowl or two before his career is done.

I mean how did you feel in the 13 seconds game? Allen was insane and hidden within his stats were all those crazy 3rd down conversions, the 2pt conversion and the 2 come from behind scores in under 2 min in Arrowhead. The Bills coaching gave that game away by not covering Hill or Kelce and playing scared.. The defense has let Allen down each time in the playoffs. :-/
I would take Josh Allen over Pat Mahomes all day long, BUT if you offered me Mahomes and Andy Reid....I'd take that for sure and that has been the difference maker.

That 2022 Divisional playoff game, Mahomes had 50 more pass yards and equal amount of TDs with an extra possession due to winning coin toss in overtime, regulation stats Allen was better

13 seconds game was lost due to STUPID COACHING decision and 2023 loss Buffalo’s defense was decimated by injuries playing with 3rd string and play signed off the street losing by missed field goal
Yes I agree and those were the two post seasons we would have won the Super Bowl if those two factors (the coaching and injuries) were corrected/different. Bills would have crushed Cinci and then the Rams in 2021, and Baltimore and San Fran last season
I was there last Monday and tell people all the time that Allen can make throws and runs Patrick cannot but Patrick can't do anything with a football that Allen can't. If Josh were in KC he would have 5 rings right now.
One differenc is one QB expects to be treated a certain way and melts down when they dont get preferential treatment where as the other gets treated like a RB and keeps his mouth shut.

Nobody scared of josh allen
Allen outplays Mahomes regularly. Mahomes so far has had the better defense and team (including coaching) in the postseason. Football has been and always will be a team sport, and the Chiefs got the situation right so far with Reid-Spags-Mahomes-Kelce-Jones-Butker.
The Bills, as a team, eventually will get it right in the postseason.

Exactly. I thought of a comparison. Now it’s not a perfect comparison, so bear with me. I’m gonna compare Allen and the Bills to Jordan and the Bulls before they started winning championships. Early on, Jordan was clearly as talented as it came. But his rivalry, the Detroit Pistons were a better team. Jordan didn’t have the help he needed. It wasn’t until the Bulls acquired Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant etc that they started to roll. Isaiah Thomas with his spiteful self will say the Bulls started winning because they all got old and eventually retired, but we all know Jordan and the Bulls would have embarrassed them even if they were healthy and remained playing. Now it isn’t a perfect comparison. I believe we still have the right coach and the talent already on the roster. But it’s taken McDermott learning from his mistakes and the development of guys like Oliver, Rousseau, Shakir etc to bring Allen the support he needs. And our coordinators are better than what we’ve had imo. Allen with his teammates doing their part, will beat Mahomes and the Chiefs and then go on to win it all.

Every season Coach McDermott improves and the culture he has established is rock solid. I had my reservations after 13 seconds, but it’s certainly fair to McDermott to look at the experience Reid and Spags collectively have as a HC/DC in the postseason, and how much experience McDermott had in the postseason as a HC at that time (in 2021).
I’ve grown to really respect McDermott and what he has accomplished, and I want him to win the big one with Josh in Buffalo at least once. I believe that is coming down the pike.
I believe McDermott is all about constant improvement. That attitude and work ethic I believe has mostly taken to the team.
Also, for those who want to replace McDermott (not me), I think the Bills would have to shoot very high to find a man to step in at this point. A man who has lots of Super Bowl experience as a Head Coach, someone like Bill Belichick or Pete Carroll, or Jimmy Johnson (names that are off the hip). If it isn’t an experienced, highly regarded, successful winner (as a Head Coach), it wouldn’t be the winning move a lot of McDermott’s detractors believe it would be. The biggest reason for this is because of how sturdy and deep McDermott’s culture is in Buffalo after seven seasons.

Josh Allen and Justin Herbert are the two most exciting QBs to watch I reckon.
Just one of those unfortunate things where there’s a team or athlete that, if that other athlete or team didn’t happen to be in the league at that exact same time, they would be champions. And of course it’s Buffalo… which is famous for it’s curse that doesn’t just make them lose, but teases them by dangling the carrot. Horrendous.

Allen an Mahomes will FOREVER be linked together, not just because of their abilities on the field. But because Buffalo practically traded Mahomes away to KC. This ended up working out for both teams but because of this, and their rivalry in the playoffs, they'll always be connected to one another.
Mahomes came from Texas A&M, a big-time program. Mahomes is more successful, but Allen is a more talented player and has been more productive since 2020. It's far enough into his career where not recognizing him as the best player is just ignorant.

I’m no NFL guru but I remember watching Josh Allen early in his career with a garbage team and realizing he would be a problem later on. It was the legs and ability to run and make plays.

Allen is bigger, faster and stronger than Mahomes. He's a better runner than Mahomes and he can make all the same throws. Mahomes has always been surrounded by a better system/team/coaching staff and had a massive advantage in development from his college days and with one of the greatest offensive coaches of all time in Andy Reid.
