I am a recent Cyber Security Analyst graduate, got my Google Cyber Security certificate, Security+ CompTIA certificate. I am also very familiar with many tools/softwares/applications. Yet no luck landing a job interview or job offer. So frustrating and I feel like this will take a very long time before anything happens 😔
I don't really think having people get into the Cyber Security field without any experience is a good thing???? Maybe it's just me... 🤔 (Just might explain why there's so many security breaches taking place throughout the digital landscape these days!)
Not at all! There are SO many reasons why there are increased security breaches - companies failing to invest sufficiently in their cybersecurity function, lack of staff awareness, threat actors selling ransomware as a service, advancements in AI. In fact, 99% of all cyber attacks are a result of human error - that is people outside of cyber with no cyber knowledge accidentally making a costly and devastating mistake. Diversity in backgrounds and education is a blessing, not a curse, especially in an industry that is estimating millions of unfilled roles just in the next 2 years.

Really enjoyed this video. Thank you Chantelle!
I'm confused, did you not have anything but the Information systems minor to put on your resume?
Idk if I missed it or if you didn’t mention it… What was the specific CybrScty position that you got initially that your assistant told you about?
Awareness

@@ChantelleRalev that comment alone earned my respect and you a new sub!!!!!
Everyone needs to start somewhere! Those entering with little to no experience are not being placed into the highest level roles
What is the name of the Cyber Security Role that you enjoyed?
