Hey, I recently graduated with my bachelors in psychology back in January. I was wondering if I should get my masters in cybersecurity from wgu or get another bachelors. I really don’t want to go back to school for 4 years so I was really considering the masters program.
Honestly, you might be fine applying now with a bachelors, I would try a test run of applications after you get your certifications, set a date to start your masters and if you can get a jobs before you start the masters program than you’re all set. Once you get the certs try for some paid internship opportunities as well. For the certs you’re looking at about a $300 investment but you’ll need them regardless.

I’m a Network Systems Security Specialist. I would advise to revise your resume and highlight any projects you’ve done on the side during your undergrad as-well as your IT professional career. Use keywords from the job description and try to cater it to your resume and showcase your experience. Don’t feel discouraged, and keep on applying regardless if you get a rejection. When I look at potential candidates resumes, I highlight their accomplishments and what they’ve done project wise so I can ask about it during our engagement . If you need help revising your resume, please advise and I can assist you.

Some great advice and tools. However, not realistic to do all of this including a BA all at the same time. Not for the average American.

Thank you Markel for an awesome content. I have just graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from a reputable university. I took a couple networking classes. I am looking to land an entry level role in Cybersecurity. It’s been very difficult to land an internship. Please what do you advise I do to move forward. Also, I just sent you a request to connect on LinkedIn. I would appreciate any advise / things you can offer to help in the right direction. I have also studied the PCI DSS framework but have no practical experience. Thanks for your help.
