During my trip to Pakistan in March of 2021, I spent three amazing days in the city of Peshawar, located in the mountainous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northern part of the country. It’s located close to the Khyber Pass on the Pakistan/Afghanistan border and is an amazing city if you like exploring history and food!
During my 72 hours in Peshawar, there were a number of things I knew I had to do. I knew I had to check out Qissa Kwani Bazaar, which is the beating heart of Peshawar. Saddar Bazaar is one of the city’s top shopping streets and a fantastic place to get street food.

You also can’t miss the Peshawar Heritage Trail, the first cultural heritage trail in the province! It takes people past some of the city’s top historical and architectural landmarks. You also shouldn’t miss the massive Karkhano Market, which is home to over 4,500 shops and vendors!
But, of course, the food was the highlight of my time in Peshawar. From the chunky, juicy beef pulao at the legendary Zaika Chawal Restaurant, to the fruit chaats sold by vendors outside, to the iconic Peshawari kebabs at Jalil Restaurant, I was in food heaven the whole time!
I did (and ate) a lot more than that in Peshawar. I could tell you about it, but I’d much rather show you! So come with me on an epic, three-day adventure as I spend 72 unforgettable hours in Peshawar, Pakistan!

Loved this series Peshawar food I agree looks so so good. I have my hot sauce in hand ready lol. The bazar is great one day shopping perfect. Pulao one of my favorites. The people are so amazing and kind Blessings! I would love to visit here. The world is full of wonderful people and experiences. We have much to learn and share with one another. Peshawar: absolutely beautiful documentary. Enjoyed this one very much. Loved all the food. All the pulaos looked delicious but preferred the ones that were a little moist. Love the look of all the chickens with their legs crossed on the skewers 🤣🤣🤣So funny. So much history in that one area. Imagine living in that monastery with no windows: claustrophobics need not apply!!! I know, I know, it's now in ruins. As for the people of Peshawar: so nice and friendly and hospitable. They wouldn't let you pay for anything. Wow!!! Love the hats especially the white one and both scarves: colors that suit you. Your host was so knowledgeable in his history of the region. Such a nice man and such nice people. Since these documentaries are so long, there is so much more to write about but alas, it's 1:10am in Toronto right now. David I love the people the war loving they couldn't wait to shake your hand and tap their heart oh my gosh they work so hard though in order to make a living 18 hours of beating and sewing is unheard of in this country right now maybe $120 years ago when they use children and all kinds of you know people to work hard hard and I just can't believe the warmth and the food oh my goodness oh my God that what what did you call it and the biryani oh it was so good I'm telling you I would have just laid down and just stay there forever okay I just want to thank you for showing us the goodness of people in other countries it's so important for us to learn and we need to learn not only with her eyes but with our heart and our mind and are stretched out arms to welcome everybody peace to you David ☮️🇺🇸🥢🌶️🥄🍜
