Hey man, thanks for the review! I was looking for a smaller scope for star party outreach events and your review for this scope was fantastic and will be picking up one for Christmas
Thanks so much, glad the video was helpful! I've used the 71F for two star parties this year. I've only used it to observe the moon but the views are fantastic and a crowd pleaser. Good luck with your events! And if you order one, consider using one of my referral links 😊 Clear skies!
Great video! I have never done any Astrophotography although I am almost 75. I don’t have tons of money but I wanted to do it right so after watching many TH-cam videos I invested in the Askar 71F flat field telescope and the reducer. I also went with a used ASI2600MC air camera, used zwo AM3 mount, new zwo auto focuser. I used this video to guide me on installing the reducer and for getting the proper back focus. THANK YOU!😊. I bought the 2” Antlia Triband RGB Ultra Filter II but haven’t figured out exactly where to place it. I’m thinking next to the camera but not sure? I am still waiting for the scope mount to arrive so I haven’t fired it all up yet. Oh, I also ordered a few heater and 10 amp power supply. So I’m getting there. With the camera, mount and focuser all ZWO and the camera having the brains would simplify the control and cabling. I’m a hunter and used to looking through spotting and rifle scopes even ones of higher end quality like nikon and Zeiss. But in looking through this scope with the included eyepiece I was really impressed! I looked at a small tree more than a hundred yards away and the detail I could see was surprising. It was very bright and clear. I believe it had more detail than any spotting scope I ever used and I have one spotting scope in 70 mm with Fluorite glass! So Kudos to Askars parent company! Again, great video and the only one I could find displaying pictures taken using the Askar .75 Reducer!
Sounds like you have a really nice setup! I'm glad my video was helpful 😊 For the filter, you can screw it into threads of the M48 photographic adapter. In my Askar 71F video, around the 18 minute mark, I show where I thread my filters in: th-cam.com/video/zNXAu4TBRmA/w-d-xo.html Your second option is to get a filter drawer which will replace the 21mm spacer for your camera. I have a video on that as well here: th-cam.com/video/SE35WdVCOJ0/w-d-xo.html I hope the rest of your gear gets there soon! Feel free to reach out with any questions, I'm happy to answer 😊 Clear skies!
Congrats on the new gear! Hopefully you get clear skies soon. Yeah, I agree the reducer should have been a little bit cheaper since the 71F is just $600.
@digitalgoonie Means how much light it gathers. A F2 will gather x2 the amount of light vs a F5 for the same exposure time's. That's what I've been told/explained.

In today's imaging world f/5 isn't considered fast anymore. It's decent.
What does that mean…? Fast, slow? I’m a beginner

@@jiinx72 It's around 5 to 6 times more light gathering than f/5
@@jiinx72 thanks!!
