If she's so against the superficial world of the elite LA HS system... why did she go?? Why did she continue to state how much money it cost?? How was she accepted to the same HS as Retard-Gir, OJ Not- Simpson? Why did she go to 5 different HSs? If she just loves her dog and Subaru and is so satisfied with a simple life... why did she make this video? Why did she edit the video so much? Why is she in LA? I think she's a hypocrite and a liar! I certainly don't believe she completed or even attempted 6 hours of hw per night... because she was never assigned 6 hours of hw everynight. Her voice inflection infers that she thinks she's better than others though she states she's so satisfied and happy with the simple pleasures of life. If she was "so like not worried" about attending an elite school... why is she at USC? Why did she make this video?? I didn't view any adds or the entire video because O think she's a hypocritical b***h!

Spend energy on creating an equal society and stop dumping on people that are at the bottom.
Don’t know why rich kids feel so entitled. They did NOTHING to earn the money they are spending/wasting. Yet they walk around like the world is theirs.
My niece attended USC with Olivia and she said that Olivia never wanted to attend college and hated school. It was much more her mother's idea than hers.
Her and Bella wanted to go to a smaller, more party school (I think they set their sights on somewhere in Arkansas?) and their parents would NOT allow it.
Marley Mescudi I remember reading somewhere that their dad said something about “my daughters are not going to Arkansas” or something like that to the guy running the scam, definitely outside California though. Bella probably picked the school and Olivia was just going to follow her after she graduated.
Nothing wrong with being financially rich as long as you are also morally rich and appreciate and share what you have to better the world. They aren't, don't and never will.

Amazing how an academic institution would rather take in a mediocre wealthy student over a hard working, smart and driven students.... Doesn’t sound very intelligent of a priority for an institution bases itself on intelligent enrichment
It’s because the parents will probably donate to the school...so they look for that :/ if the school has money from donations, they don’t need smart students to make them money (since most schools acquire their budget from their student body). That’s not to say that students attending that school aren’t smart-I don’t know them haha. Just the concept makes sense: if students make the schools money, they need the best students..but if the schools gets funded elsewhere, who cares about academic performance right? paying for your child to be in a private school is normal. But paying your way into college/uni is crazy. Parents put their children into private schools for them to get the best education possible & to get into college based on their marks...
manic hispanic I don't care what anyone says..to me college is a waste if you have that much money to waste to bribe them to get you in. They could have just put Olivia some kind of investing classes to make her money grow and called it a day.
I went to a private grammar school and a private high school. In Chicago. And my mom was a factory worker and my dad a roofer. Back then it was 1500 a yr in GS and 3500 a yr in HS. I got a full ride in HS bc of my grades in GS. they were not able to pay for my college, and I was admitted into northwestern university. It was 35000 a yr and I was given a 25000 a yr scholarship. Which was amazing but we didn’t have enough to pay the other 10000 a yr so I had to go to another state university. It’s not fair that ppl that don’t work their ass off like I did get to go to these schools and they don’t even want to be there
manic hispanic you don't bribe your way into private school, most of them aren't merit based it literally just depends on who's willing to pay the ridiculous price tag.
Hales It actually depends on how many slots to fill ,in those situations usually the child whose parent has the most money to grease the Palm gets admitted..works the same way with ritzy nursery schools..

In Paris during the french revolution they cut the heads off the elite with a novel device named after the man who invented it called Charles LeGuittione. After the head of the elitist was humanely severed they carried it around on a pike in a revelatory manner.
Okay, this is just my opinion, but I'm putting it out there. Often times, ESPECIALLY in the corporate world, black people are questioning THEMSELVES, and PROJECTING this insecurity onto others. I see this with Caucasian women as well. I entered the corporate world before I completed my degree, and I did VERY well. I saw this from the inside, working directly in Human Resources, and the outside, from the different positions I held. I'm SURE there are areas where the racial environment might be different from where I lived in Southern California, however for ME, in 20 years, there was no more than two instances where I believe discrimination was an issue, and IT WAS BY A BLACK PERSON (her motives appeared to be mostly selfish, she wanted to be the "top dog", and felt I was a threat). The OTHER instance, I can't be sure it was discrimination AT ALL. I wasn't offered a job with the NEW company following a merger, and while there was some evidence that the man making the decisions on who would be offered positions in the newly formed company was motivated by racial bias, had I been OFFERED a job, it would have required relocation to another state, and I wasn't interested anyway, so I never thought twice about it. From my position in Human Resources, it was FAR MORE COMMON that managers would come to us AFRAID to fire someone black, (often someone that SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED), for fear that they would be sued for discrimination. This used to be VERY frustrating to me as a black woman, because I wanted to succeed at my job, because I was good at it, not because I was holding the company hostage under threat of lawsuit. I worked with highly competent, (as well as incompetent) people of all colors, and while some people REFUSE to accept it, every personality difference between a person of color and their manager is NOT RACIALLY motivated.
@@MarinaJBoyd in those cases, that people feel insecure is because of centuries of discrimination from school, jobs, entertainment etc. And, you could just be ignoring things yourself. I see many minorities refusing to accept that they are being discriminated against becuase it's easier to ignored a problem, hoping it goes away on its own, because they are either lazy, or want to fit in with those that discriminate against them. They have this need to prove that discrimination doesn't affect them. And, of course your experience doesn't speak for everyone and you could have been misunderstand those people because of your own ideas/beliefs about how people should deal with discrimination.
@@iceadonis6340 That's probably true, but it's useless, and NOT the fault of people who never oppressed anybody. A person can get much further by focusing on what is necessary to be the best they can at whatever job they are doing. Your boyfriend/girlfriend doesn't want to be burdened with your mistrust, and constant efforts to make them prove their faithfulness, because your ex cheated, and white americans who have never oppressed anyone, are tired of trying to prove they aren't racist. Personally, I'm surprised it took so long.
@@MarinaJBoyd many people claim that they don't discriminate, but indirectly oppress others by being apart of systemic discrimination. And, it's not useless to speak up about discrimination. Whats useless are the people that ignore discrimination, because it makes them just as guilty as the oppressor. People can focus on their goals and discrimination. And, you're cheating analogy is not as complicated as discrimination. Discrimination give advantages and money to those that benefit from it, and those benefits last for generations. It's gives people a better life without hardwork. Cheating on the other hand driving by carnal needs, insecurities, habits, etc.
@@iceadonis6340 That's an absurd and RACIST statement. ALMOST NO ONE "claims" to be discriminating, so you have to judge by their BEHAVIOR, and as much as we would LOVE to, we can't read people's MIND, so we need to stop passing laws that depend on mind reading. There are black people I LIKE, and black people I DON'T like, but we've created a system, where, a white person can't not like any black person without risk of being called RACIST. A black person can't help they were born black, a white person can't help they were born white, a person born into a rich family had NO CONTROL over that, so we need to stop trying to PUNISH them. People need to figure out what they want in life, then they need to go get it, if someone get in their way in violation of the law, get a lawyer and sue. Don't use race as a reason to oppress and abuse innocent people. NOBODY treats black people worse than black people, but we go around trying to penalize white people for the actions of their long dead ancestors that they never knew. Hence, no child Left behind ( made for Minorities who can’t keep Up ) it’s true and sad. Also- in the workplace . I have been TOLD I am more educated and have better grades/ accomplishments than a minority but they HAVE to hire the minority due to having to have a certain number of minorities in each department .. if you could see how that department is FAILING now because they aren’t equipped for the job just like they aren’t equipped for college . HEY EVERYONE! I've been getting a lot of hate from the girls at the school I was speaking about in this video. I want to make clear I only attended this school for a week at the beginning of the year and realized it was not a good fit for me, which is why I left. It is definitely a good education at these schools, and I am not saying it isn't. I also had a few classes with Olivia and was so surprised when this came out because Olivia seemed like a such a nice girl. (I didn't know her that well though.) I'm glad you said something about how difficult the workload is because I went there and it was very challenging. Just so people know, not everyone at the school was materialistic. I think Harlow fell into the wrong crowd, and if she stayed longer than a week, she would have noticed that a lot of the girls were very sweet and nice. There were also a few students that received financial aid from the school, so not everyone at the school was very wealthy. I hope that this scandal doesn't tarnish the school's reputation because not everyone at the school cheats like that, and it is not a good reflection of the students who went there. Also, the college counselors actually condoned the cheating and reported it to the investigation, so the school did everything in its power to make sure students were getting into college legally. Most of the people going to that school go there for the great education and amazing college counseling program, not to get into college illegally.
You should watch “Ja’mie: Private School Girl” lol. I went to an all girls private school for my entire 12 years of schooling and can confirm that it was exactly like that
Lifetime is depressing. All they show are women being raped. Its basically rape porn for lonely middle aged women. My 48 year old aunt watches it non stop since her husband left her for a younger woman. She needs to lose some weight and put on some makeup and go hit the bar to find another man so I can play my xbox. Hate people who hog the tv crying all day. Can't wait till she finds a place to live cause we have to share a room too which is wierd cause I'm 13 having a 48 year old roommate. She is hella wack.
I mean it definitely is, but I know where I live, a neighboring town that is a low income very poorish town, a few students got accepted to Harvard. Same with my old school, a few kids got accepted and it's a school that is infamously known for gang issues and being "that" town.
I think there is a BIG difference between Jared Kushner's father buying a building and Olivia Jade getting in through an athletics scholarship. Olivia and her mom wanted to scam the whole world into thinking that Oliva's got in on her own hardwork and merit. I don't understand why they had to go about it that way.
I go to a similar school - most of my peers are middle to upper class which is completely different from my background and they're ridiculously materialistic.
The kids at my school were extremely materialistic and judgmental, but they were also extremely academic as well. We were ranked 9th in the state in 2018.
Juliet Justine Rose Her mom paid USC with a bribe of 500k to get Olivia into USC. They faked her credentials and all of this stuff that other people have to work so hard for
I went to a public high school in a wealthy suburban area in Los Angeles. If you didn’t wear the latest trendy clothes, people called you poor. I wasn’t shocked to hear about Olivia’s parents paying her way. I knew kids like her that would skip class but yet still graduated and got into elite colleges. It’s messed and unfair but it has been happening for years.
My niece maintained a PERFECT GPA and was a swimmer starting in 1st grade consistently through middle and high school. She ranked #1 (girls age 17 and younger group) in the entire country in the100 m butterfly for a couple years! She also ranked in the top 5 in other events. She’d swim every single day-2 hours practice with her coaches before she’d head to school and at least 3 hours from 6-9 PM, studying in between. Public school mind you, not homeschooling, so she was up well before the sun came up. It didn’t matter if it was 20 degrees outside, she was in that outdoor pool. She also had various extracurricular activities that she would fit into her schedule as well. All of this was her choice! She never had to be dragged out of bed. She’s one of the most focused young women I’ve ever met. She applied for scholarships to USC, UCLA and University of Hawaii. USC denied her! She was accepted to UCLA with a partial scholarship and Hawaii with almost a full scholarship. Of course she chose Hawaii. Unfortunately she suffered a shoulder injury and had to come home to be near the best orthopedic surgeons possible. My point is, she is the same age as Laughlin’s daughter!! Listening to and looking at her girls makes it very obvious that they are not athletes and that they don’t take their education seriously. This entire thing disgusts me! My sympathy is for the deserving students and athletes who were robbed of their opportunities.
And you and your family should be pissed off from the moment you learn that hard work and merit do not get you in, cheating or writing a really big check to the school does. I think every single family that went through this paid placement scheme should be audited by the IRS, kids should have to leave the school immediately and if they got a degree based on this should forfeit their degree. Cuz here's the thing there cannot be a sliding scale when it comes to cheating, either you did or you didn't, if you did you loose whatever you gained from it.
Blackstallionsunday zombie If you had even a fraction of the determination that my niece does, and you found out that students far less qualified were accepted in the school of your choice, I doubt blah blah blah would be your response.
iLoveLeatherNYC I agree 100%! Hard work, determination and sacrifice should be rewarded. If the elite schools that were aware of this scam, truly cared about turning out highly educated, contributing members of society, as they claim to, they should not be allowing unqualified students in just because they have wealthy families.
Yea, well see if there's a class action and call your attorney; either way, with all the academic hard work your niece had, at the end of the day, is she a nice person? That's what counts the most. Sounds like she's the kind of achiever that's needed in the world. Hope she does well!
I read the whole comment. People who can't handle reading 12 lines of text have probably never picked up a book in their life so I wouldn't be too concerned with what they have to say. I agree with you though. I hope these parents are punished to the full extent of the law. If there's one thing that truly gets to me it's stories like this. Education is a right not a privilege, and educational INSTITUTIONS are supposed to value merit over celebrity status. We're taking about future doctors, lawyers, teachers, psychologists, athletes and entrepreneurs here, who the world may never discover because they live in a country where knowledge is for sale. I also hope the reputation of these colleges suffer greatly. I'm sure this type of corruption occurs to some degree in Australia where I'm from too, but the US is really bad when it comes to money talking. We all should adopt the Finnish system. They have the highest education rates in the western world and it's partly because there are no private schools or colleges there. Equal opportunity for EVERYONE (and this is coming from someone who went to a private school)
Bush Master what confuses me is that once you get into college on a sports scholarship don’t you have to actually practice the sport every single day idk wouldn’t they quickly realise that she didn’t know shit about rowing
When I first started listening to you, I thought this was going to be a fluffy piece of shade on Olivia Jade but no.....I think you spoke a lot of truth. You seem to have your priorities and values in place.
I agree. It’s so nice to get a perspective of a person that has first hand experience or knowledge of the system but does not participate in it. She is exactly the ppl we need to speak up.
i hope this comment is a joke. EVERYTHING she said about my school is fully based on assumption. how could she possible ‘know’ this much when she was only there for a week? we do not take aderol, we are hard working, independent girls, who work to get what we earn. olivia did what she did, and that does not represent our school. not at all.

As a person of color who graduated from two Ivy Leagues, I am not surprised to hear about their “astonishing” admission process that let’s so many wealthy people pay their way in. But I must say that some of those college students deserve to be there. During my time at these institutions, I felt that some questioned my college admission because of my background just as I question theirs... I don't think anyone that attends these schools is surprise about this situation that has been brought to light. There are so many things happening behind the admission’s process that we do not know… I was so upset when she said, “I don't really care about school.” GIRRRLLL!… I had to work hard to get a spot and obtain higher education. I blame her parents for spoiling those brat kids and the corrupted system that is the gateway to our education.
@White Violet you're an idiot, poor people don't have the means to cheat their way into a ivy league school. I can't believe you said something so stupid.
Kudos to you all who have worked hard to get into college! I am a caucasian female with two college degrees. I put myself through college. Not once but twice. I am paying off a 72,000 student loan. And you should be proud of that!! At least you didn’t have to drop over half a million to get into school. I’d be more proud knowing I got in by earning it than paying that much. Even if the rich don’t care how you got in at least you are not so fucking dumb that you pay 500k to get accepted to a school.

The focus is always on how minorities are at an advantage due to affirmative action but it’s because most are up against a much greater wealthy advantage. Thanks so much for the video!
True but then again she explained on how hard the schools is and the school she percisely went to with Olivia . Most of them although rich must be intelligent ... I think only few take things for granted and parents pay but the rest work very hard on their own . She even stated how some was even on anti depressants and anxiety due to all the work . Also in another vid with the billionaire son he took it for granted and got expelled and he's doing some misfits clothing line . Yet throughout it showed that the school was strict and most are there to learn after all a lot are to inherit a company ( or companies ) and so on .
Minorities and females even ARE at WAY MORE of an advantage. And foreigners. And it's got to be way more prevalent than these glamorous cases. Basically EVERYONE who is not a white male. I could not believe such blatant biased against white males even existed until we looked at application forms for summer programs for HS students at elite colleges. (A segue into a good American college.) Every one of them had programs open to every set me t but American white males. How they all worded it was: we are looking for: (females, foreign students, minorities, on a d on, all except for white males. I should have called FOX News to cover It, as they would likely have been the only major news network to do so. And I did actually consider it at the time.) My son got in a tough school which was, at least at the time, one of the handful of true neritocricies (of colleges) that existed. So YES, let's keep the emphasis on the ANTI WHITE MALE BIAS in college admissions.
For all the incredibly smart and talented students that could have cured a life threatening illness, won the Gold, etc.. I would like to see Olivia, Laurie and company tell these students why they deserved their spot. Olivia KNEW she was NOT a talented athlete!
nadia we gotta give it up to kris tho. She knew that her daughters couldn’t do shit and just focused on making them celebrities. Rob, apparently was a great student and earned his slot in USC. He worked very hard. edit: wait wtf, i had no idea this had 1k likes. alrighty. well, i wanna change some things since it's out that kim k is trying to be an attorney in, probably, the must difficult way possible so more (most people who do the apprenticeship program fail the bar). she makes very intricate career moves and law is all about being 2 steps ahead of everyone else and finding loopholes. so, yeah, good for kim! she took a different route to earn an education and i respect it. also, kourtney graduated from college. she started at southern methodist in dallas and transferred to university of arizona where she graduated. idk about university of arizona but southern methodist is a fantastic schoo it's not USC but it's still great! i know many who graduated from there and landed great work all over the country. kris didn't push her to go to an elite university and applauded her for that. these moms cheated their kids into these schools because non-elite universities sound "bad" for pretentious snobs. kris is awesome for not caring about that. i know for sure that she could've used Robert Kardashian Sr.'s connects or money to get kourtney into USC but she didn't. so good for her.
I really believe the girl charged and tried as adult. If she was in on this scandal before she started school, she is not the victim she’s trying to make everyone believe she is. She was old enough to know right from wrong, also committed fraud and denied qualified students from getting in to USC.
“Take more pride of the person you are than the things you have because at the end of the day things will not bring you lasting happiness...” Well said!
My mom went to Cal Berkeley in the late seventies. when they went to football games cal students would hold up dollar bills sort of to mock them cuz even then usc had a rep of accepting anyone who would pay enough
Well, my niece got into a USC clinical doctorate program (not easy and she and her family isn't rich) and worked her butt off, but USC was the best school for her field. She has tons of college debt for her postgrad but luckily she was smart enough to be eligible to get scholarships for her public college undergrad work. She graduated with a doctorate and is working as a skilled physical therapist.
I was one of those "minorities who got into college" and questioned and I graduated from U of Iowa top 3 percent and an Phi Beta Kappa. Also got a full scholarship to U of Iowa law school. The undeserving minority is such a stereotype. Great video. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Iowa was a really good college, Iowa City is very small though, but the experience was great! I wouldn't say it's easy to get in but it's a great program that's definitely a sophisticated program, especially if you go into law! Congrats!
I think it’s mostly the rowing team recruiter who recruited the girls to be a part of the team, i dont think the admission people knew or was bribed to admit the girls, but the fact that they were recruited raised their level of impression. Idk for sure but that’s what I heard what happened.
@@DittoAPokemon But what about the bribe money though? Does the university keep it? If so, that's just as shady for USC and their reputation should go down as well.
In a radio interview, Giannulli said, “It is the coolest thing getting DMs from girls, like, ‘I’m applying to college right now, what did you do?’” Paid half a million dollars😂
As the mom of current senior, it is infuriating to think of all the spots unfairly taken by these students. It was interesting to hear your perspective.
I understand your outrage. Good grades take sacriface. But I do not understand why the outrage is missing concerning the bigger implication with university fraud for the whole of society If someone goes to an ivy league school, they have that better a chance of controlling a major corporation, running for office, getting accepted to medical school, law school or graduate school and becoming Professors! I do not want someone who cannot get into an ivy league school, who does make up all the time, maybe cannot even get through undergraduate being my Doctor or handling my divorce, or bankruptcy or being my surgeon or sending spacecraft into outer space. The grosser implication is that the US is developping a profession class of incompetent frauds who will not be able to handle massive problems. The rigger of school is there to toughen you up so you can continue to think creatively and critically during high stress and give you the content of education. Why are people not panicked?
Ok so they cheat their way in, lie about their achievements, fake their grades and they still come out with a degree? If they are so lazy, thick and spoilt how do they actually finish college with a qualification At all? They must be paying people to do their work. These people are disgusting. No morals or self respect.
@Winny Zinny Remember, if somebody is graduating at the top of their class, then somebody has to be graduating at the bottom of the graduating class. For these people, it just matters that they have the degree in hand from the prestigious university.
I go to a private English high school in Sweden. And the work load is to the point where I don’t have time to do anything for myself. And what is this work all for? To just say I worked hard and got anxiety and other things from it? My school doesn’t even let me stay a day at home because of a migraine. (The student health doesn’t matter)
I relate to this a lot. I attend a private high school and I also attend an English studio at the same time. And the work load was too much that some nights I would not sleep and go to school. I am a hard worker and definitely my effort paid off (I am a senior and I happen to be the valedictorian) but the way I pushed myself to the edge doesn’t make me really proud to be honest.
Daniele Sudintaite I feel like all private school give students a whole lot of work load .i seriously don’t have anytime for anything outside of school.and it’s always education ,education ,education ...
Y’all say “oh olivia jade is innocent” “she didn’t know “ regardless if she did or didn’t, in the past 6 months she has said things that have legit proven actual factual evidence that backs up this whole case. PrimadonnaGirl95 Just because we are older doesn't mean we are not interested in current events!! I am laughing at you thinking a Mamaw wouldn't possibly be following things...goes to show that younger people need to realize that just because we are older doesn't mean you stop watching things! I use to think like you until I got older!! You are forgiven!! You will be 72 before you know it!! Proud of my age!!
PrimadonnaGirl95 do you really expect yourself to be completely opposite from who you are now in a few decades? 🤣 shocker, older people follow current events and drama. I’m sure you liked your own comment bc no one would agree with the bs you’re spewing.
Olivia has a GRWM going to her first party. She said she was 2 weeks late on coming to school. You actually are getting a free ride, stepping on students who thought if they worked hard, they could get into the college of their choice and you Can't show up when you are supposed to. Maybe you thought school should have changed their schedule to accommodate you. Maybe she was sailing on another administrator's yacht. That whole thing sounds a little creepy to me. It sounds like in this family, the kids tell their parents what to do. What a sad situation. Peace, Margaret
USC isn’t that hard to get into if you have money and go to an elite private school! I mean it’s still a good school but if you have a good GPA and good extracurriculars (required to get into like every good school tbh) you can get in. I still think the college scandal sucks and it’s totally unfair. Just wanted to say I went to a public school in the LA area and took AP classes/varsity sports all 4 years and got in, so did most ppl i know who applied. I didn’t go because of the cost and I think the UC schools academics are better
Okay no hate but you contradicted yourself in your first sentence “it’s not that hard to get into if you have money and go to an elite private school” like that right there alone shows you just how hard it is to get in
None of these answers addresses your question. Often colleges lower academic standards for people that play sports. Norte Dame for example. Great academic and sports tradition, but a great amount of elite players would absolutely not get in if the standards were kept
Everything about this video... hair, makeup, couch, lighting, bookshelf, color theme, your voice, your input on the scandal... EVERYTHING! I live for it!!! This is my first video I’ve seen of yours and am already subscribed!

Nothing wrong with being financially rich as long as you are also morally rich and appreciate and share what you have to better the world. They aren't, don't and never will.
spot on, Em Dee!
Being rich doesn't ever equal to being morally rich. If they were moral they'd never be able to become rich. It says many times in the Bible the horrible fate of the rich and that they won't go to heaven.
That depends tho honestly bc some celebs who donate the most and give to charity just do it because they get huge tax deductions.

Amazing how an academic institution would rather take in a mediocre wealthy student over a hard working, smart and driven students....
Doesn’t sound very intelligent of a priority for an institution bases itself on intelligent enrichment
Right?! It's actually embarrassing.
Many people do anything for money over their own pride and integrity.. it sucks I know :/
One word - corruption
Umme Salma Tahir they like enriching themselves, just not with intelligence.
It’s because the parents will probably donate to the school...so they look for that :/ if the school has money from donations, they don’t need smart students to make them money (since most schools acquire their budget from their student body). That’s not to say that students attending that school aren’t smart-I don’t know them haha. Just the concept makes sense: if students make the schools money, they need the best students..but if the schools gets funded elsewhere, who cares about academic performance right? manic hispanic I don't care what anyone says..to me college is a waste if you have that much money to waste to bribe them to get you in.
It’s not fair that ppl that don’t work their ass off like I did get to go to these schools and they don’t even want to be there
manic hispanic you don't bribe your way into private school, most of them aren't merit based it literally just depends on who's willing to pay the ridiculous price tag.

In Paris during the french revolution they cut the heads off the elite with a novel device named after the man who invented it called Charles LeGuittione. After the head of the elitist was humanely severed they carried it around on a pike in a revelatory manner.
You're so right about how society questions minorities/regular people, but not the rich and powerful!
Human nature is like, "I don't think so".

I am a teacher and a tutor. I specialize in prep for SAT/ACT . My students work very hard w/me to earn their way to colleges. One of my students had a 4.3 gpa - here from China 3 years, learned English and wants to be a doctor. He got rejected from USC (and he also did outside community service and activities). This really hit me hard, seeing how regular people got rejected while others bought their way there. I appreciate your video! It is an important story and you are truly smart to understand material and superficial things are not what's important. They will learn that sooner than later and I hope justice is not also bought. Lori and whomever else need to sit in the slammer for a bit and start thinking about others. LIke my student. (and yes, there can be an advantage to hiring tutors and going to private schools...but it's still legal and fair b/c they work very hard and their parents sacrifice a lot to hire folks like me to tutor their kids and work w/them and they also have to study- the SAT vocab words alone are really tough - though they are embedded today in the readings), people need to learn to grow in life. There are opportunities to make the world a better place!
Abigail shouldn’t the colleges get in trouble too? I haven’t hear anyone talk about that... just wondering.
Kind of reminds me of ancient roman society....
I want the best for all of these girls that work hard and I hope they get into the colleges that are the best fit for them. I won't be responding to bullying and accusations, everything in this video is true from my experience. Love y'all! Be nice to one another.
Harlow you didn’t even mention the name though lol. Sometimes the truth hurts.🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️

These girls are getting way too butthurt. You didn't mention the highschool name or any of their names. Wouldn't be surprised if they paid their ways into college too. Stay golden x
You are clearly upset by this whole Olivia situation, and it’s clear you’re attacking the girl who made this video over it. She was just saying the school was prestige so you had to do a lot of homework, and she didn’t understand how Olivia put up with that when she’s been very vocal about not liking school at all. Also, she stated that she was offered a position on the rowing team and she didn’t recall Olivia even being apart of it. No one is ridiculing the high school or has even mentioned the name of it besides you. If anyone is mad at a school it’s USC. Chill out and take the video with a pinch of salt girly
The first week is syllabus week... the fact that you couldn't keep up with the schoolwork for syllabus week...sad!
Thank you for speaking up for minorities. I went to a private university and I was given so much crap for getting in and being there.

Condone the cheating? You mean condemned? The counselor almost acted as a whistle blower so definitely didn’t condone
Lol. Just lol
That's not what condoned means buddy. You wasted a lot of money on that fancy education!
That school sounds like a good Lifetime movie lol

But Lifetime movies generally aren’t good... 🤔

EXACTLY! IF olivia JADED was a third the young woman harlow is she'd be destined for a great future earned on her own merit.
Uni of San Diego, UCLA, USC, Stanford, Yale, Harvard have some of the lowest acceptance rates in the nation. So, ya, it's totally pay to play scheme.
I mean it definitely is, but I know where I live, a neighboring town that is a low income very poorish town, a few students got accepted to Harvard. Same with my old school, a few kids got accepted and it's a school that is infamously known for gang issues and being "that" town.
U of San Diego is not hard to get into...if you can manage a 3.6 you can get in.
Kelley Kalomiris I got in Uni of San Diego as a transfer student with a 2.8😭
I disagree Daphne_488 jared's father buying a building is as corrupt as Olivia's Mom and Olivia faking it to get an athletics scholarship.
I go to a similar school - most of my peers are middle to upper class which is completely different from my background and they're ridiculously materialistic.
I feel you man 😔 i went to an elite school and most kids there have rich parents and only i and few others came from a normal household
The kids at my school were extremely materialistic and judgmental, but they were also extremely academic as well. We were ranked 9th in the state in 2018.

@@MikeHawk-tj3dz The one shown in the movie 'Clueless'.

I love how you said that maybe we should focus more on questioning how rich people got into elite colleges rather than minorities. This is so true!
So YES, let's keep the emphasis on the ANTI WHITE MALE BIAS in college admissions.

edit: wait wtf, i had no idea this had 1k likes. alrighty. well, i wanna change some things since it's out that kim k is trying to be an attorney in, probably, the must difficult way possible so more (most people who do the apprenticeship program fail the bar). she makes very intricate career moves and law is all about being 2 steps ahead of everyone else and finding loopholes. so, yeah, good for kim! she took a different route to earn an education and i respect it.
also, kourtney graduated from college. she started at southern methodist in dallas and transferred to university of arizona where she graduated. idk about university of arizona but southern methodist is a fantastic schoo it's not USC but it's still great! i know many who graduated from there and landed great work all over the country. kris didn't push her to go to an elite university and applauded her for that. these moms cheated their kids into these schools because non-elite universities sound "bad" for pretentious snobs. kris is awesome for not caring about that. i know for sure that she could've used Robert Kardashian Sr.'s connects or money to get kourtney into USC but she didn't. so good for her.
Olivia, Need to be Drop from TH-cam & USC...
Didnt 3 of the kids go to college? Maybe just 2? I think kourtney has a degree haha
Keem Dono Kourtney and Rob are the only ones that have a college degree. Kim and Khloe went to college but they ended up dropping
Alexis yeah that’s why he was a famous lawyer for celebs
While I agree with everything you said, I could not stop staring into your eyes. They're so pretty!
miss skeletal I hope you are alright.
You all sound like gushing fan girls. Please stop.
Olivia knew. On page 88 of the public affidavit, she was CC’d on the email from the lead guy in the scandal. Love your video!!!!! Great spirit. 🦋
How do you see the affidavit?
@@charlottebuchanan3193 Google Loughlin's name and AFFIDAVIT, and it will show right up.
Thx
I really believe the girl charged and tried as adult. If she was in on this scandal before she started school, she is not the victim she’s trying to make everyone believe she is. She was old enough to know right from wrong, also committed fraud and denied qualified students from getting in to USC.
“Take more pride of the person you are than the things you have because at the end of the day things will not bring you lasting happiness...” Well said!
This video has really good quality tbh
My mom went to Cal Berkeley in the late seventies. when they went to football games cal students would hold up dollar bills sort of to mock them cuz even then usc had a rep of accepting anyone who would pay enough
Miriam LC - I went to Cal too. Go Bears 🐻 🔵💛
excepting
Accepting
Isn't Cal also mired in this controversy? I think they're definetely in less shit though.
Deleting this account it’s like that everywhere in the world.. how naive are people
1:32 "Oh wow--USC is super hard to get into..." *wink* lol
Chris H “was” and or “used to be” 😃😅
Well, my niece got into a USC clinical doctorate program (not easy and she and her family isn't rich) and worked her butt off, but USC was the best school for her field. She has tons of college debt for her postgrad but luckily she was smart enough to be eligible to get scholarships for her public college undergrad work. She graduated with a doctorate and is working as a skilled physical therapist.
Don't you go through the front gate ???
USC is not even a good school.... no where near any of the ivies and not even the best school in the city (ahem ucla) ...
Penny Mika a school doesn’t have to be an ivy to be a good school. Have fun with all those hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt.
I’m fine with my Subaru - a high schooler where in a 3rd world country that’s going to the target practical car of someone in their late 20’s
I was one of those "minorities who got into college" and questioned and I graduated from U of Iowa top 3 percent and an Phi Beta Kappa. Also got a full scholarship to U of Iowa law school. The undeserving minority is such a stereotype. Great video. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congrats! That’s amazing 🏅
CONGRATS!!!🎉🙌
Go Hawkeyes!
Iowa was a really good college, Iowa City is very small though, but the experience was great! I wouldn't say it's easy to get in but it's a great program that's definitely a sophisticated program, especially if you go into law! Congrats!
That is awesome. Brava!
Dang I’m 32 and I legitimately thought you were in college until you said high school.
Brittney Lynn Lmao What has your age got to do with anything?? Tmi
I though they went to trade school together. Then I remembered women don't do shit like that.
Shady, shady...she's trying to say she looks older. Why women like to be so negative towards other women....shameful
She look old
She looks old as shit huh? Lol.
I am not suprised that USC let this slide under the rug. The school is probably playing dumb.
Ishmael Carrillo Jr because people do this there all the time ! They don’t care if they get that coin
@@blairwaldorf-bass8180 USC needs to own up to their biased actions. Guess the nickname rings true....University of Spoiled Children.
I think it’s mostly the rowing team recruiter who recruited the girls to be a part of the team, i dont think the admission people knew or was bribed to admit the girls, but the fact that they were recruited raised their level of impression. Idk for sure but that’s what I heard what happened.
They are investigating and suspending any student who cheated their way in.
@@DittoAPokemon But what about the bribe money though? Does the university keep it? If so, that's just as shady for USC and their reputation should go down as well.
I went to private school and the pressure about college and prestige is so real. I worked my ass off and it made me grateful for education.
Same girl
In a radio interview, Giannulli said, “It is the coolest thing getting DMs from girls, like, ‘I’m applying to college right now, what did you do?’”
Paid half a million dollars😂
Ha!
As the mom of current senior, it is infuriating to think of all the spots unfairly taken by these students. It was interesting to hear your perspective.
Alycia Shapiro th-cam.com/video/4LDqpZlHrwY/w-d-xo.html
I understand your outrage. Good grades take sacriface. But I do not understand why the outrage is missing concerning the bigger implication with university fraud for the whole of society
If someone goes to an ivy league school, they have that better a chance of controlling a major corporation, running for office, getting accepted to medical school, law school or graduate school and becoming Professors!
I am a hard worker and definitely my effort paid off (I am a senior and I happen to be the valedictorian) but the way I pushed myself to the edge doesn’t make me really proud to be honest.
please, please take care of yourself. just 5 minutes a day of doing a little bit of self care can make a worlds difference.take care xx
Daniele Sudintaite I feel like all private school give students a whole lot of work load .i seriously don’t have anytime for anything outside of school.and it’s always education ,education ,education ...
Daniele Sudintaite why would you have so much work for English? I get math but idk about English
Y’all say “oh olivia jade is innocent” “she didn’t know “ regardless if she did or didn’t, in the past 6 months she has said things that have legit proven actual factual evidence that backs up this whole case. Like saying her dad didn’t really pay for college on the zach (something ) talk show. Or even saying she’s there to just party.
She posed for photos to fake being in the rowing team. She knew..
nasrin farah oooo which photos !!!
Tea
technically she is innocent. her parents are making her do it all. i couldn’t tell my parents no at that age
Kyleigh Volpi she’s 19 she can open her mouth. I’m not blaming her but I’m saying that’ she’s done and said things in her past that has set her up for us to believe she knew all along this was going on
I am a Mamaw, and just saw your post....decided to see what you had to say about Olivia....you are so grounded, and on your way to a be a great adult...stay as sweet as you are now!! This 72 year old grandma loves seeing young people like you!!
Suzi64grad “I am a Mamaw” 😭❤️ why was that so damn cute
This just sounds so creepy, no 72 year old would actually follow this petty drama.
PrimadonnaGirl95 my grandma loved inside edition. It was a distraction from the cancer because you couldn’t do anything. Age doesn’t matter
Peace, Margaret
who is Dennis?
USC isn’t that hard to get into if you have money and go to an elite private school! I mean it’s still a good school but if you have a good GPA and good extracurriculars (required to get into like every good school tbh) you can get in.
I still think the college scandal sucks and it’s totally unfair. Just wanted to say I went to a public school in the LA area and took AP classes/varsity sports all 4 years and got in, so did most ppl i know who applied. I didn’t go because of the cost and I think the UC schools academics are better
unfortunately, money talks.
Okay no hate but you contradicted yourself in your first sentence “it’s not that hard to get into if you have money and go to an elite private school” like that right there alone shows you just how hard it is to get in
Why did she need the scholarship if they could afford the 500K? Why not just pay your way in without the phony scholarship?
to keep up the idea that things are merit based.
Because she's an idiot, would not have gotten in any other way
Tax write off
None of these answers addresses your question. Often colleges lower academic standards for people that play sports. Norte Dame for example. Great academic and sports tradition, but a great amount of elite players would absolutely not get in if the standards were kept
Not only that but people like that are greedy. They'll pay a pretty penny to a certain extent then find a way to mooch their way in.
Literally, I don’t understand how pretty you are! You look like a grown woman sis😍😍😍
Yeah...a grown woman with a Michael Jackson (late in life) shitty nose job.
@@AlexAndra-id2im aw who hurt you sis? Maybe one day if you stop being a bitch people will compliment you too
Yes your smile is gorgeous!
You’re blind.
White People look older, that is a problem when they get older. Latinas, Asians do look younger.
Everything about this video... hair, makeup, couch, lighting, bookshelf, color theme, your voice, your input on the scandal... EVERYTHING! I live for it!!! This is my first video I’ve seen of yours and am already subscribed! You were so calming, and although it was clear you didn’t agree with what happened, you got that across in such a calm and respectful way! I felt so relaxed watching you I forgot Aunt Becky was in jail!!❤️❤️❤️🤣
👍👊😉
Literally, same.
😹😹
I went to a high school with a work load like that. It wasn’t for bragging rights but the rigor was for ivys. The pressure is unreal
