Specially the funny part, "selling" 2 just to be able to show ultra wide photos haha. Fail to mention that the price is between 50% to 70% more than the competition, only has 230 ANSI when everyone else that is competing has 500/700ANSI WITH battery, this one you have to buy separately and it costs another 170€ extra, only 1 5w speaker when most have either 2x10w or 2x7w for 100/300€ less...Even against the 1st gen it loses, the leds on the 1st is rated for 30000hrs and this one is rated at 20000...All of that for 799+taxes, Samsung must be thinking that ppl are dumb af.
I definitely recommend everyone here thinking of purchasing one of these looking into The Hook Up's non-sponsored reciew of the first gen freestyle. TLDR: these are WAY overpriced for the specs. Going into more detail: the freestyle projector has a louder fan than it's competition, it's extremely dimmer than comparably priced portable projectors, has worse speakers, battery sold separately, etc. It's not a good product, and anyone recommending this to the average consumer is doing a major disservice due to its price.
ALSO, it's no 4K. We are in 2023, 4K is the standard. definition, while 8K is already selling. I likes this project connect, but from now on I'll thin on laser projects only.
@@brianbrennan4124 make a search for Xiaomi or Samsung laser 4k projectors. But, if you own an iPhone or are under the Apple environment, go for Samsung 'cause their last models are Apple certificate (for streaming, Apple TV app pre-instaleed , etc)
@ReginaldoKono what are some alternatives? I'm new to looking for a projector to use in my room and this is the first thing I've heard of. Don't know what other products that do this but better there are out there.
There is barely any heat dissipating around the device. During summer you’d likely notice a bit more of warmer air but it runs quite cool. Never had any issues with thermals in the device.
I have a question. I want to use this at our cabin that is off grid. I know it works with a battery bank which is great. Will the phone to projector connection work without wifi? Is there a Bluetooth connection option? And will Hot Spotting my phone work if all else fails?
Thank you! for this amazing video Quick question: Can this device be used as a third display, (i have a laptop and a monitor and i want to use this as a third display)? Thanks!
I didn't buy the 1st Gen of the projector, but I really am contemplating buying the 2nd Gen. Looks great since I don't like those black squares on walls called TV.
This projector is crippled by less than 300 lumens of light output. It requires a completely dark room. The price is obscenely high. Similar dim LED projectors can be purchased for under $200.
Amazing video, finally and thank you! Two questions: 1. Do you know when the projector is available to the public? 2. Everyone says it has this gaming mode. How is it actually? Not getting lots of information on that. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
Bought this after seeing this review. Going to return it now. The auto focus and directionally auto scaling is blown way out of proportion, and the rest of the claims too.
Everyone talks about the bad price. Where TF are all those supercheap same/better software and quality projectors? That have a build in audio and portability?
If they added a micro-SD card receptacle so that you can carry your movies or photos with the projector and play them directly from the SD, it would be perfect.
come on. Who even carries movies and photos on micro SD? you guys need to stop. Everything is in the cloud and that's the future. Otherwise you'd also ask it to have floppy disk 💾 and VCR
Unfortunately, I am seeing too much if you in this video and not enough of the projector projecting, which is what I wanted to see. I believe you can still talk while talking over the device projecting and telling us about it.
My biggest concern is the brightness or nits. Inside it sounds like a great projector but if you want to have a daytime or even early afternoon (anything before dawn or evening) BBQ and movie night outside @ 100" will we be able to view it NO Problem.
When used in edge blending mode do the speakers work as a stereo pair? I've currently got 2 yamaha music cast speakers at either side of my bed and when paired they work as a stereo pair, but they're useless when paired with the shield, the audio ag is horrendous... having two of these projectors would let me take down the TV and the speakers and just use two projectors instead this is definitely the best bit of new tech I've seen for a while
Is the phone casting done through nfc? Or is that only an android/samsung deal? If one has an iPhone can they tap the phone to cast their screen as well?
Many thanks for your video! I'm thinking of buying a video projector. Nevertheless, I only have a terracotta-coloured wall. Do you think I can use it on it? Thank you in advance 😉

Does the projector have to be in straight line towards the wall or the cealing or is it possible to keep it a bit of an angle, like for example on a side table next to you and turn a bit towards to left/right to get the screen more in the middle ?
Mine only works straight, it used to work from any angle, but function got damaged a month ago, I’ve had it for a year now. Other issue is with the screen size, it is not changing any longer either.
I am thinking that one should be able to take advantage of the 180° rotation, but then you'd have to go into changing the orientation of the projection from portrait to landscape or somewhere in between😅
I’m in the military and own the 1st gen. It’s a must bring on deployments/detachments. It’s a o portable and versatile. I take it to my room and to the work center for others to enjoy on down time. I was led to believe this would play blue-ray dvd's. Is there a connection for an external perhaps. I ask for a portable projector that would play BR dvd's...
Samsung's requirement to use their outdated UI for browsing shows and apps, along with their limited support for casting from only Netflix and TH-cam, is a significant drawback. This oversight renders countless apps incompatible for casting-a flaw that's hard to overlook. It's best to avoid this product altogether.
