SailGP is high speed, high tech and high impact. This global sports championship combines cutting-edge tech, iconic global venues, elite athletes and record-breaking speeds to create the most exciting racing on water. Rival teams from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada, France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Spain battle it out at iconic venues around the world in short, intense races for a total prize pot of $5 million. Teams compete in identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans that fly above the water at electrifying speeds approaching 100 km/h. Fan-centric and close-to-shore, each SailGP Championship culminates in a $1 million, three-boat, winner-takes-all Grand Final.

i was kind of hoping to see highlights edited in a coherent way - I have no idea what happened there.
Sorry, these highlights are rubbish. Appreciate they they have come out not long after the races but c'mon. 2mins of highlights for 3 races! 15min feels more appropriate.
stay tuned for the full weekend highlights!
@@SailGP when?
Yes, not so much highlights, just snippets
So damm happy I can record this on my pvr in Canada.
We got hooped by the electric bugs today.
This race series was totally designed to be media friendly. But the video editors are completely useless - call this a highlights package???? As others have said it is totally disjointed and just a series of random sound bytes.
Those are poor 'highlights'. There is no context and no flow. Totally meaningless and a waste of 2 minutes.
Will you guys be posting the livestream of the first 3 races? Or just highlights?

@@jeadly thank you!!😊😊
Go go go kiwis 🥝 💪
As spectator and sailor myself, these highlights are sadly useless as they are missing all of the context. This series has amazing potential to make sailing a better known sport around the world, if it just would be explained better. And surely on the broadcast that is the case, but a lot of the audience gain will come from short highlights like this. But to make it entertaining we as viewers need explanation. Sailing is not F1 where you can scream about an overtake, but every little step of the race is carefully planned out by the crew. And if we want to acknowledge that, and create a story with excitement, we must get told about stuff like wind conditions and shifts, which site of the course would be preferred, is a team gambling pretty high on some gusts, how difficult the different starting positions are to pull off and the adrenaline that comes with it. If you can implement that, this will easily be the most entertaining sailing to ever be broadcasted and sailing would gain a lot of viewers. Story telling is everything for entertainment and excitement!
What happened to Canada after race 1?
Not sure what happened to the American boat after the first race, they seemed to just disappear?! I do think that they should get rid of the " planet of the apes" theme on their main sail though!
Legal
What a shit coverage!
Twice as many ads as 'highlights' - no continuity or context, and the full coverage of each day "not available" on TH-cam. WTF.
