  • The Tri D Box or PLT Box ( Peter Lynn Triangular Box Kite ) is an orginal design from the late 1970,s by this well known New Zealand Kite designer.
This homemade version is not quite a copy of the still available 6m wide kite made by the factory in Ashburton NZ. Costing over $5000 NZ dollars.
I was pleased how this kite flew after a long time in storage.

@@kiteflyingdownunder....car6272 - The kite I'm talking about is actually one that I won in a Silent Auction at the Junction, Texas kite workshop in 1996. It's a No Sew kite made with Iron On Tape & it was made by AKA Member Sam Houston.
Also, the Tri-D with a single point bridle is bound to waiver a bit more than a box kite with a double legged bridle or a compound bridle.

@@danokitemano9316 Hi Dan. Thank you for your suggestions on the Tri-D. Must soon fly it again. Maybe sometime you can fly your no-sew kite.

Everything your dad made seems to have been great, Carl. What a lucky man you are to have inherited these kites, and it's so good that you are making use of them.

I do enjoy seeing them fly again. Some are showing wear & fading. A few more to come if the weather allows.

So Carl... She flies. The one that I built that is... Had it up at Garry Point Park in Richmond BC for around 3hours... Steadiest kite I've ever owned... Definitely worth the build to have such a nice steady flier in my collection. Maybe I will have to shoot some video and post it up. If I do I'll send you a link.

Well done on your kite making. So pleased it flies so well and in a beautiful location. I have family living in Vancouver but have never visited yet. Did you ever get to see the late Mr Ray Bethell flying his three sports kites in formation. Yes would love to see any video. Happy Flying.

Thanks Glenn. I learn something new all the time with everyones help. My wish is for a better camera to capture more truer colours.

Carl, the chase is half the fun. When shopping for a new camera, do not underestimate the importance of the optical viewfinder. LED/LCD screens are impossible to see outdoors, don't you agree?

Yes agreed. I have improved the viewing by fitting a modified shade cover I got from China that magnetically clips over the screen. It does help but still some times I am quessing whats in view. Would love a viewfinder camera. One day.

This is a great video... Thank you for the close up details. I am awaiting delivery of Skydogs surfer box which is a 3d single. I have bought two and intend to merge them into one kite. They have the same upswept wing as yours does so watching this video gives me great hope that mine will be a good flyer when completed

      🔴 What Is Islam? ⚠️
🔴 Islam is not just another religion.
🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
📖 { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)[4] 📚
🔴 Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
🔵 Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.
