I recently began following your adventures and I'm absolutely loving it! What a wonderful life you're living together. Thanks for sharing the world with us (& especially all the food 😍)
Ahhh I'm loving this video. I never travel with my parents anymore but over 10 years ago we went to Lisbon for my mum's 60th birthday, which my dad organised as a surprise. It was really cool watching this video and remembering places we went to 😁 P.s your folks are fab!
Looks like you're all having a blast, can't wait to see what's your next stop in Portugal! So many people only stop in to see Lisbon and never head inland.
I definitely understand them eating Spanish food in Portugal because it’s their choice and not yours and they did try some Portuguese food but Paella is delicious so no wonder why they wanted to eat it in Portugal
You are in Portugal and ask for a Paella!? C'mon, there's seafood rice that is typical from Portugal and is way much better than paella....Nice video. Lisbon is the best
I know sorry! It was the only thing they sold besides sandwiches so we tried to try something different. haha always a little hard when you're with the fam! We make up for the food in the next vlog :)
@@flyingthenest don't feel sorry, you are free to eat whatever you want wherever you want when paying with your money. Those childish comments are not about you, are about the difficult relationship Portuguese have always had with Spain. Portugal is smaller and poorer, so they always felt Spain was a menace. It's just their inferiority complex
Enjoyed the video - just a heads up for anybody else visiting Peña Palace, the garden ticket no longer includes access to the terrace (outside of the castle). You have to book palace tickets in advance.
I forgot to say...if you have the time, pls take a boat trip to the Douro Valley wine region (Porto). It is completely breathtaking! :) One of the best restaurants to try "Francesinhas" is "Café Santiago" at Porto downtown. But the best vegetarian "Francesinhas" are at "Al Forno da Baixa". You can also stroll along the Douro riverside ("Ribeira"), watch the sunset in the "garden of the joyful promenade" (jardim do passeio alegre - Foz do Douro - Porto) or visit the Fort of Francisco Xavier (mostly known as "Cheese Castle" :)). There are still so many things to see. I hope you enjoy it!
Why on earth are you both not award winners for cinematics, humour, influence, editing and caring family. You’ve inspired me to buy gimbal and I’ve started filming locally on my ambulance off days. Thanks so much. My Chanel has 8 subscribers lol. SteveMac
Really great video. I've watched many travel videos on youtube and yours is defineately first rate. Heading back to Miami by way of Lisbon then spending 2 nights there. So many videos with wind noise, bad music or back and forth . Yes, yours is excellent.
Again: thanks for sharing with the rest of the world. About the elevator thing, a beautiful moment I had once, in return for your amazing adventures: after our marriage, we had a one-day honeymoon trip down to Oklahoma City. And the next morning I got up pretty early (compared to my lovely vampire wife) and went to the roof of the hotel to take pics of the sunrise. And on this whole roof there was just one other guy. Playing bagpipes. We had a short conversation. He was from Idaho and heading south (with his family) to play the bagpipes on his father's grave. He was just practising. So I didn't take a photo. Just let him have his privacy. But I'll never forget this moment up on the roof of almost all Oklahoma City. Have a great time in Portugal. Greetings from the north of Germany!
Yay for a new series! I love following you guys along your travels! And another great video per usual! Cant wait for the rest of the series! Hope you enjoyed the family time!
You guys are so quick to reply, can’t wait to see what’s next. Any solid plans to revisit Istanbul in the winter? I think I heard you mention an idea of that.
Anyone know where is a good district to stay in lisbob? They didn't mention where they stayed. Planning a trip with parents too so preferably somewhere not too noisy at night. Thanks in advance
I just came across your video. I’m considering a trip to Portugal in September/October. I loved that you woke up early one day to explore! That was my favorite memory of my trip to Italy! We woke up early each morning in Florence to wander, find a cafe and watch the city come alive! What month did you go to Lisbon? How was the weather?
"Not only did the elevator help with the hills... they also have trams!" LOL the Elevator didn't help at all haha It was just for sight seeing lol you go back down after xD
Great to see appreciation of Lisbon and its vibe. 😁☀️ I wanted to share my Lisbon travel series, In the Mood For Lisbon: @ I recently moved here in this city, really wanted to share my passion for this city. Enjoy!
I love your blogs and I am hooked! It inspired me to recently go to Egypt and now I have sparked a travel bug! How do you decide When to go with a tour or to plan the trip yourself?
Love the mean machine and the whole lace looks so beautiful great to see the family enjoying themselves make sure you keep them under control ha ha stay safe and enjoy yourselves
If you guys are still there you have to visit Santini's ice cream parlour - BEST. ICE CREAM. EVER! They use actualy fuit, no syrups, and it is the best ice cream we have ever tasted!

Hey did you guys visit the town of Sintra? Although the pena palace is by far the most popular site, the whole region of Sintra is worth at least a weekend. Quinta da regateira, the town itself, castle of the Moores and Monserrate should be in mind!😉
Oh man this made me miss Lisbon and Portugal so damn much. Lol when I cities Pena Palace it was hotter than Lisbon, its because of the mountains, and there were sooooooooo many people also! I can’t wait to see the videos for the Algarve! That was my my favourite part besides Lisbon!
Enjoy Lisbon and surroundings! We have been in Sintra, Cascais and Estoril, too. If you have time cross Tajo with a boat to see Lisbon over the Cristo's eyes. One of my favorite places on earth no doubt. The food, Fado, locals, I missed that a lot...
I had no idea that I was 16% Portuguese, thanks for making this video I love learning about my ancestry. My Mom was adopted and I have no idea who my dad is oh, so this is a really fun Journey for me. Keep making great content with your lovely family!
Thanks for the video - loved it! Your parents (in-law) are adorable! Sorry you've got a heard time about the paella thing. I don't think it's that bad, it was still a new dish for you plus I'm sure you had plenty of other traditional foods whilst you were there. I've booked a trip to Lisbon which should depart on 17/06/20. No idea if it'll go ahead but we'll see.
You are so natural and friendly .We hope to see you in Turkey again .There are many more places you should visit and there are many more foods you should taste in Turkey .As Mevlana said ; The World is an Inn, we are passenger and the owner of the Inn is Allah. Bon voyage :)
Paella is definitely not a portuguese food.... That's Spanish! Woolworths sells Portuguese tarts but of course is not the same. Sangria is also Spanish! XD
Valter Portugal No is not althgough same says that, The Spanish says that was invented in the Andalusia Region, does the name Sangria, the blood of the bull. The Portuguese says that was invented in Portugal, does the name Sangria, blood color. No one knows for sure, one thing is certain, is from the Iberian peninsula. Only yhe Portuguese and Spanish can produce this beverege under the name Sangria, a 2014 UE Law.The Portuguese and Spanish recipes are diferent though
Well we have the portuguese adapted Paella name called Arroz à Valenciana: Being that Valencia Spain is the typical place of paella: So calling it Paella or Arroz 'a Valenciana will not make a big difference. Arroz de Marisco is quite better and cooked on a different way but still very similar! By the way: That Paella was overcooked! Overcooked rice is not good! And of course when you are a tourist that has plenty of places to go on a short time the easiest way is fast food like most go to american restaurants, ¿ is there any problem about it? of course there isn't . Especially when we have no idea of what to eat according to our taste.
Lovely video guys, and I felt some gentle love there, very touching. It must be the music :) This weekend, packing for Europe! Would love to meet you guys :) I'm off for a month of adventure. Keep up the amazing videos! I'd give this one a heart if I could hehe :)
