Thnx for the info!! Very nice & well informed……. I live in Miami and this would be much easier for many of us ( my son lives in Orlando). I have been dying to take this trip!

I am unsure what exactly it is shaking up in the US besides it being private and relatively new. Acela trains in the Northeast have been around forever and still faster. But I get that people (especially in America) are facinated with new and also surprised that new stuff, all over life, tends to be cleaner than old stuff.

Yep! Not to mention newer Amtrak rolling stock is slowly coming in. New sleeper cars via Viewliner II have been added to the roster and the Superliner sleepers have been refurbished so they last a little longer while their replacements are being designed and (hopefully) soon built! The new Acela train, Avelia Liberty, is also finally joining the Northeast Corridor (NEC) for service spring of 2025 so very very exciting stuff for Amtrak! Amtrak is also starting work on their future Airo trainsets and continually adding new Venture cars to their California and Midwest train routes that are almost as popular as their Northeast brethren!
For the case of Brightline minor construction has been started up for a while now for Brightline West, a more proper high speed rail service! Major construction will be starting next year and if things aren't as hindered as similar projects it should be done by 2028! Brightline has also started adding new cars to their trainsets as passenger counts have continued to exceed expectations!
And it, alongside Amtrak's new Floridian service from Miami to Chicago, and Borealis from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP/Twin Cities) to Chicago. Really is showing people in the US are slowly but surely falling in love with trains again. This resurgence is exciting and I hope we continue to receive more and more!

I am just thrilled to see investment in trains from both these newer companies and Amtrak. I adore trains and the prospect of being able to use them more to see the USA is wonderful. (I am visually impaired and so not allowed to drive…anything that can drive for me is a REAL blessing).
