    What's superb as well with stuff like Victrix is that these brand new medieval knights are less than 50% the cost of the equivalent old Bretonnian knights from GW. They also released an alternate history/fantasy sprue to adapt them to things like Warhammer or LOTR, etc. Victrix is absolutely superb stuff and incredibly well priced.

    Please keep up your good work. These are uncertain times and you help viewers forget it for a while. Thank you.

    A great kit and good tutorial on how to get them on the table quickly but looking decent.

    You HAVE to do some of the foot knights with the fantasy heads and sprues later. Looks really good!

    Glad you made the video on these. These are definitely something I want to work on after a few projects I'm doing. Haven't done any mounted minis and have been really wanting to. They look really nice and the price is nice too. Thanks! :D

    The beeping is completely necessary, I find speedpaints don't work as well without the beeping.
    Nice paintjob as always. Good tip on the 2:1 mix of firedrake/satchel brown, I'm going to use it for horses and dogs. For some reason I never think of mixing speedpaints like I do with regular acrylics. Go figure!

    What a pleasure to watch and learn, great model too. Just what the doctor ordered in these tumultuous, challenging, confusing times.

    Excellent work Troy! The Victrix models look great and would make a great diorama. I am impressed with the options you get. Thanks for sharing this.

    Outdamnstanding...really enjoyed this and I've ordered some Victrix miniatures just to paint for the fun of it...great model, great video. Thank You.

    Excellent review and tutorial! I think the Victrix napoleonics are older and use a different type of plastic. I assembled a whole pack of Vikings a little while back and they are fantastic. Great details and very economical. The addition of the instructions printed out looks much better than just reference the cardboard tab 😅
    I hope you do a video on the proper application of the LBM decals though.

      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  หลายเดือนก่อน

      We'll see. Honestly, painting fantasy knights isn't all that different from regular knights past a point - the extras would have to be pretty strange or fantastic to make much of a difference, given I've done quite a few knights recently!

    Could the cloth wash be painted with a warm white contrast paint?
    Like Speedpaint Pallid Bone? Or equivalent on other brands? Maybe diluted with medium?
    Following your tutorials since I began considering play Bolt Action, WWII skirmish game, but now I play Saga and I love Victrix Miniatures.
    Very happy for this tutorial, because I wanted a warm white for the horse barding and was unsure how to do it!

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Any of those methods would probably work, there isn't a single right way of attacking white cloth. I've had some success in the past with thinning down Skeleton Horde from Citadel to use as a beige-ish wash, but whichever you choose, I'd definitely add a little medium to help it flow over such a large area and to keep it smooth.

    How about a size comparison between the Wargames Atlanic and Victrix Medieval ranges? I think this would be very interesting for many folks, especially those who like to convert, mix-n-match or modify plastic miniatures... Thanx & keep up your great work!

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      When the Victrix Foot Knights or WGA Mounted Knights come out, sure. As it stands there's not a lot of use in comparing them side by side since one range has mounted and the others have foot knights; at a glance the WGA heads would fit fine on the Victrix bodies and vice versa, but the WGA bodies and arms are a little small for straight weapon swaps, I think. Once there's more to compare I'll make a note to do it properly.

      @theandf หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SonicSledgehammerStudio I know in your line of work you must be diplomatic about this kind of things, but if you had to choose one kit, which of the two would you say are better quality (proportions, details, plastic), the WGA or the Victrix knights? (I know currently one is mounted and the other unmounted, but I think my question is answerable anyway). I love both brands and own lots of stuff from them, but there's only room for one set of early medieval knights in my life.

      They're quite natty, really! And there's a range of different colours which aren't super lurid compared to other brands. They're from Gamer's Grass, if I'm remembering the name correctly.

    huh... aren't there fantasy knight coming out too from victrix? aside, I think if you'd use alys brown stuff after ground colors you could skip layering completly.

      Yup. It's a pill base I drew up in Windows' default 3D Builder and just scaled as appropriate in Cura to match the Old World base sizes.
