    Phenomenal trade! This is a massive piece we badly needed. He led the Caps in hits and is good on PK. The Sabres just improved with this alone. All the whiners and complainers will still continue to do so even after they begged for this all of last season lol. Plus he’s 26 and not washed up.

      agree a much needed piece and hope they're not finished yet as another similar piece would add much needed weight to the team and this move has Lindys fingerprints all over it to toughen up this team.

    The people calling this a bad trade have no idea about what a role player is on a hockey team.
    We just acquired a pack of assorted sandpaper for a 2nd rd pick.
    He's gritty, blocks shots, hits everything on the ice and isn't afraid to punch somebody in the mouth.
    That' s how you get tougher to play against...
    That was a great trade by GMKA whose cards or chips aren't at the middle of the table in Vegas.
    He's the Dealer, building through the draft and through budgeting assets.
    A smart move that the dummies just can't comprehend.

    Beck had the 7th most defensive starts in a season IN NHL HISTORY during his FIRST FULL SEASON. He was top 3% of the league in Bursts of speed, coming from stop and go to full blown sprint(he had 240, the average was 70). And he was also top 3% in average speed. All of this while being +- -1 on the year…. Sabres got a good CHEAP deal out of a second round pick. Beck can hang with the big dawgs in the nhl. I’m sad to see him go, and our GM would have LOVED to resign him, he even said that in an interview after the trade. BUT….
    In return, the caps took 43rd pick, which turned into COLE HUTSON. If you would have told me we would shop out a 4th line demon for a high ceiling PP QB, I would have called you crazy. Both teams benefited here.

  • @steveb1962
    @steveb1962 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

    Hallelujah!! can't believe the Caps let him go , now at least one more player from a similar mold who can play a heavy game and finish checks and we're on are way to a season fans can be optimistic about.

    • @holyspider9206
      @holyspider9206 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Caps have a player in the AHL who plays JUST like Beck, with a little better offensive upside, who just went back to back in the Calder finals. Moving Beck (while I love what he brings to the nhl) was needed. I’ll be cheering for him no matter the team, he’s a stand up guy and does the dirty work. Picking up Cole hutson made both teams happy here.

      @@bjarczyk You do not think that a Second Round pick for a fourth-liner is an overpayment, when you already have someone like Kozak in the AHL, and even Wahlberg?
      And if it is all on Granato, do you not then think that Sameulsson (when healthy) and Greenway and Cozens and Robinson and Clifton and Krebs and, if still here, Girgensons will not start throwing the body more?
