Phenomenal trade! This is a massive piece we badly needed. He led the Caps in hits and is good on PK. The Sabres just improved with this alone. All the whiners and complainers will still continue to do so even after they begged for this all of last season lol. Plus he’s 26 and not washed up.
agree a much needed piece and hope they're not finished yet as another similar piece would add much needed weight to the team and this move has Lindys fingerprints all over it to toughen up this team.
Everyone is bashing this trade, if you watch his highlights this guy is a heavy hitter and a shutdown grinder. Imagine him and Jordan Greenway on a 4th line together.
Lmfao, you can't be serious
As a caps fan, Buffalo is gonna love this kid. He is not a scoring threat, but he's a forecheck monster and defensively very responsible
Good piece but not worth a second I think caps won right now
The people calling this a bad trade have no idea about what a role player is on a hockey team.
We just acquired a pack of assorted sandpaper for a 2nd rd pick.
He's gritty, blocks shots, hits everything on the ice and isn't afraid to punch somebody in the mouth.
That' s how you get tougher to play against...
That was a great trade by GMKA whose cards or chips aren't at the middle of the table in Vegas.
He's the Dealer, building through the draft and through budgeting assets.
A smart move that the dummies just can't comprehend.
I know, it’s killing me man. A lot of our fans are embarrassing. We got exactly what they wanted and they are still whining and complaining.
👍👍
Great trade great draft I'm relieved
@@bjarczyk sing it with me...
"OOH-AHH NE'ER-DO-WELLS ON A WAR PATH!!!"
These "fans" are calling for Kevyn Adams job on X?!
The collective mentality of a herd of sheep.
@half I’m working on a video defending Adams on my channel. Our fans seemed to have learned so little the last 13 seasons.
Solid trade for the Sabres
👍👍
This is EXACTLY what we need this upcoming year. Guy with grit. I hope it rubs off on the other boys to up their physical side of the game
Exactly! Maybe Greenway will start throwing more hits too. Our defense just improved by a lot.
Hi Jeff it's Dylan 😂
Beck had the 7th most defensive starts in a season IN NHL HISTORY during his FIRST FULL SEASON. He was top 3% of the league in Bursts of speed, coming from stop and go to full blown sprint(he had 240, the average was 70). And he was also top 3% in average speed. All of this while being +- -1 on the year…. Sabres got a good CHEAP deal out of a second round pick. Beck can hang with the big dawgs in the nhl. I’m sad to see him go, and our GM would have LOVED to resign him, he even said that in an interview after the trade. BUT….
In return, the caps took 43rd pick, which turned into COLE HUTSON. If you would have told me we would shop out a 4th line demon for a high ceiling PP QB, I would have called you crazy. Both teams benefited here.
Hallelujah!! can't believe the Caps let him go , now at least one more player from a similar mold who can play a heavy game and finish checks and we're on are way to a season fans can be optimistic about.
Caps have a player in the AHL who plays JUST like Beck, with a little better offensive upside, who just went back to back in the Calder finals. Moving Beck (while I love what he brings to the nhl) was needed. I’ll be cheering for him no matter the team, he’s a stand up guy and does the dirty work. Picking up Cole hutson made both teams happy here.
@@holyspider9206are you talking about Joe Snively?
@@feozink2448 trineyev
@holyspider9206 thanks for info wasn't aware of this but had to figure Caps had a backup plan but just overly excited Sabres finally made a move to address a much needed present need trying to balance out the talent with toughness.
This trade makes sense. The known vs the unknown & waiting years for the 2nd rounder to form into an NHL'ER. GMKA address grit , sandpaper & pk guy. Soild bottom 6 guy !!!!
Nice can't wait to see him play I didn't have a clue who ,he is ,In Adams we trust
2nd round pick is a pretty cheap price to pay for an actual nhl player
Andrew Peters said very few GMs want to deal with Adams. Also, many many players have NO TRADE CLAUSE to Buffalo... sad but true
Nice report thx
All the sabres fans are complaining. That he is an ahl player, and not worth a pick. After saying they want grit. Cant win
The whiners don’t know who he is, they also don’t watch the games anyway. I like him, I watched him against the Amerks in the AHL playoffs a year ago all over the ice. He also hits everything that moves, which we badly need.
My biggest complaint is he’s a 4th line LW. That’s where I wanted Greenway. If they buy out Skinner, are they really going with Peterka, Benson, Greenway, and Malenstyn at LW. Yikes. It’s still early I guess.
@@grumpyscott17maybe Greenway can play RW. IDK.
Perfect pickup. RFA. Won't be expensive to reup. 👍
@@grumpyscott17 yeah I don't think Greenway was a good signing, and a second is steep for a 4th line lw.
Beck Malenstyn is a solid bottom 6 winger than does a bit of everything. Sabre fans will like him alot.
Looks like the pick in return is Cole Hutson, Lane's brother. Interesting.
This is Ruff's Don Luce.
Lets go sabres!
I agree
We give up a 2nd rounder for a fourth-line caliber player. Great trade!!…. Players like this could be had for free in free agency.
He led the caps in hits and is good on the PK. That was an awesome trade! And he’s 26. Not old and washed up. This is exactly what our team needs and people will still whine and complain.
The fact that you think an established NHL player is worth less than a CHANCE at getting an NHL player is all I need to hear.
Dude, he just had the 7th most defensive starts in a SINGLE season in NHL HISTORY. Plus, this was his FIRST FULL SEASON in the nhl…. All while sporting a +- -1…. That’s actually nuts.
As a Buffalo fan in DC, I have seen a lot of him. He’s tough, plays hard, can PK, and is ready now. Solid NHL bottom 6 player. And I absolutely agree that it is an over-payment. Would have liked a pick coming back.
@@TheBlackestPlague little bit of an overpay, but to sign NAK and trade for beck, you HAD to make that trade. Caps just played hard ball as they didn’t want to give beck up.
I think he’ll be a great addition to our bottom six…in Rochester
Nailed it
Lmao....yep
Massive over pay, love the team, Love the player, not at all worth a high 2nd rounder. They could have offer sheeted him 2 mill and only give up a 3rd
2nd round pick for a 4th rounder. Sigh. This is why everyone laughs at the Sabres
You trade what could become an NHL ready player for a current NHL player that you need. The Sabres have a ton of prospects in the pipeline, they definitely don't need more.
Meh, another Bottom-6 guy. They did not have a problem with the PK, they had a problem on the PP… and simply scoring. Is this guy Eric Robinson 2.0 - another player who was physical and such on another team who changes when he gets to Buffalo? And a second rounder for a 6-round depth choice, who Is 26? Meh.
Players changed to a less physical style because of Granato’s anti hitting philosophy. I expect they’ll be playing the body a bit more with Lindy.
Our stated offseason goal was literally to improve the bottom 6 and become more physical, and you are still complaining? Come on now.
@@bjarczyk You do not think that a Second Round pick for a fourth-liner is an overpayment, when you already have someone like Kozak in the AHL, and even Wahlberg?
And if it is all on Granato, do you not then think that Sameulsson (when healthy) and Greenway and Cozens and Robinson and Clifton and Krebs and, if still here, Girgensons will not start throwing the body more?
I appreciate Adams’ attempt, but he should have just traded for Xhekaj from the Habs last summer.
Thank you for making me feel better as a Sabres fan ⚔️🦬
