Awesome, so pleased to hear it, really fun to play, lots of pull offs and hammer ons so it's great for technique, hope the video helps you out, have a great Christmas! 🎸🎅
Excellent work. Oldfield is an extremely underrated guitarist I find. His melodic lines are awesome and even this is extremely tricky to play and probably helped due to his classical guitar training.
Thank you ever so much, absolutely agreed, it's definitely trickier than you think to play, yeah the classical guitar background explains a lot of his approach to his playing, hope this video helped you learn this classic! 🎸🤘
Nice work! I learned this years and years ago and still find it challenging to play with a pick (as opposed to Mike's hybrid one-finger-per-string / pick-when-I-feel-like-it style)
Thanks so much Rich, yeah I couldn't resist getting that one when I saw it on the Marshall site! And thank you for watching them all and commenting, really means a lot! 🎸🤘
Very nice. I was looking for Eric Roche (RIP) acoustic version, it's a great listen. Thanks for the music and tabs. Merry Christmas Andy.... 5 STARS! \--Van
this is just fantastic, 🔥 🔥 I tried it last year and it was too hard for me so I'm going to try it again this year and it will still probably be too hard for me 😆😂
Such a great solo isn't it, but yeah it's definitely far more trickier than you expect, hopefully the video helps and you get it this time, I have another Christmas lesson coming out in the next few days, so keep an eye out! 🎸🤘
Couldn’t have timed this better. Thanks. Started learning this last night but struggled with the latter half. This should help me finish getting it.

This made me so happy!

He actually doesn't have a classical background, he developed his style through folk fingerpicking.

Great stuff, this was one of my ‘need to learn’ pieces since 1976!
I'm glad to hear it, yeah super iconic, have fun learning it! 🎸🤘
Do love a bit of Mike!
Thanks Joss, yeah he's brilliant, he's got a very unusual finger style technique on the original, cool one to learn, thanks for watching! 😎🤘
Well done, mate. Impressive playing.
Thank you ever so much, hope it helps you learn this classic, it's trickier than you think, but a lot of fun to play! 🎸🤘
Festive greetings. 🎅🏼 love the jumper Andy. Thanks for all the ace videos this year mate. 🤘🏻

Can’t think of a better use of that than for a Christmas banger hahah
Congrats!
Thank you, appreciate you watching! 🎸🤘

Hi, great work, the song is easily learnable. Could you please upload backing track?

Have my kids
Sounds great! Does anyone know what scale/mode this is? I'm trying to figure out Mike's playing.
I still like his Tubular Bells.
Yeah me too, such a great song! 😎🎸
@@AndyDoveGuitar Nice piece you did Bro.
Very versatile and uptempo 👍
@@newyorknight thank you once again! 🎸😎
Have ever covered Jonny Lang?
Oooh now that's a great shout, I never have, but hope to change that next year! 😎
has a more 'rock feel' than the original, which on its turn is derived from a medieval folk tune.
What scale is this based on ?
C Major 👍
Nice work, love rock but good to see and hear different strokes.
Thanks so much Tony, yeah it's nice to mix it up once in a while to be fair, thank you so much for watching, hope you have a great Christmas! 🎄🎸🎶
