- I absolutely adored Meteor Garden so I thought I'd share some of my favourite moments from the series (most of them between Shancai and Daoming Si of course :P).

Jerry Yan does not only act as dao ming si! He becomes dao ming si. He owns it and nailed it. His acting is excellent. The shifting of his emotions is admirable from pretending not to care and happy about shancai and lei to the pain he felt just by thingking of losing the one he love. Jerry Yan is dao ming si!
Dao Ming Si's love might be unbearable at times but he love like tomorrow will never come, he love with all his heart because it is the only thing that makes him feel alive.
THEIR ACTING WAS SO FREAKIN AWESOME. WE COULD FEEL THE CHEMISTRY EVEN AFTER 19 YEARS PASS BY.

Jerry Yan and Barbie Hsu had to carry the series Meteor Garden because so much of the show was focused on their falling in love and their struggles. They had a really good director to help out. This was perhaps Jerry's second time playing a main character. I think Jerry did a wonderful job playing the complex character Dao Ming Si. A child born into wealth but whose parents were never there (no love) and a bitter sister who brought him up by beating him. For the most of his life he was lonely and never learned any skills to interface with people.

It's not only acting...Jerry always put his 100% towards his role..but their chemistry made him as he had that real feeling...no one can beat him as Dao Ming Shi...you could see his real teary eyes, his pain in his heart and the way he look at her, hug her,kiss her is beyond imaginable

sometimes there comes a role to an actor that would fit him perfectly as if it is truly meant for him, and for me Dao Ming Si's character is really meant for young master. (yes that's how i call Jerry Yan even to this day). 😊❤️
when daoming si's cry my heart is aching and cut into a small pieces...i love f4!!! they are concern for each other and true good friendsss...how i wish i have a friends like them....miss u guyss..hope u will have another new drama series again pleaseeee!

While I like the 2018 remake, i think this version is better, it's a bit darker and is WAY MORE ROMANTIC! The kisses in this drama are the best of all Hana yori Dango/BoysOvERfLOWERS/MeteorGarden remakes.

No one can do crying and kissing scenes better than Jerry Yan. He was born to be a romantic lead. He is just so good at it. Think about it. Everyone wants him to end up with the girl in real life too. He's good.
I think it is still debateable to pick the best between Jerry Yan, Jun Matsumoto & Lee Min-ho as main male protagonist from all this drama version.
But Vic Chou, Ken Chu & Vanness Wu are the best as the rest of F4 members.
Don't get me wrong, Jerry act so good, He & Barbie hsu made Meteor Garden perfect.
I'm watching dorama version now. I think I've got Barbie Hsu match here.

The early scene reminds me of the meltdown Thyme experienced in ep 7 on "F4 Thailand". The anguish and grief of losing the love of his life.
Don`t get me wrong, i love both actors so much and i love both of these versions!

Do men really truthfully pour their hearts out to one another and cry incessantly in front of each other? I mean don't get me wrong men talk but most don't really talk about their relationship unless it's with the opposite sex. I guess their bond is greater than most men.
