Korean remake may have been better because it's newer, so the graphics, cinematography etc. would be better. But the 2001 version has so much more emotion to it. I've never cried from watching a drama, but I did cry for this version many times.

I hated Dao Ming Si tbh, he did some terrible things to shan cai. He kissed her forcefully (arrgh), he slapped her etc. But I think his good deeds and sacrifices for shan cai outweighed the bad things he had done towards her. He redeemed himself and that's the reason why I believe shan cai chose him. (I mean she could have chosen Lei. Altho lei came a bit late) This is still the best Hana Yori Dango adaptation.
