Bottling your beer is an important step in the homebrewing process. Not only does beer become carbonated, but it also undergoes additional aging and maturation in bottles.
Here’s what you’ll need to bottle a gallon of homebrew:
Racking cane & filter tip OR mini auto-siphon

Can you use priming sugar tablets instead?

I have a question about the blueberry mead I'm making right now. After 2 weeks of fermentation I racked the mead to a carboy. The mead smelled good and looked perfect.
Now a day later I smell a sour smell at the airlock. it could be H2S.
Do you have any idea what I should do? Do I have to wait? Or should I still add splash rack or copper?
    Hopefully you can help me.
    cheers

    How would you recommend backsweetening

The racking cane I got broke, instead of returning it i thought, why not just test it out, and see what it's like if i just pour it out as using it a strainer and funnel.
I let it sit for 4 weeks instead of 2 in the carboy.
any predictions on how poorly it might go?

Is this step by step the same for the cider kit?

Can you pour the beer over a cheesecloth before putting it in the pot? To avoid sediment?

No this could introduce oxygen and oxidize your beer leading to off flavors. Most of the sediment can be avoided with a tip on the racking cane, anything else will fall to the bottom of the bottle as it ages, simply leave about an ounce in the bottom when pouring and you should have a sediment free beer.
