About Dr Zita Nain TSSF (RIP)

"Blessed are you O Lord for our sister death/whom none of us can escape."
In his canticle of the sun, St Francis of Assisi blesses God for death saying, "Blessed are you O Lord for our sister death/whom none of us can escape." For St Francis and by implication, for all who are guided by the spirituality of St Francis, death is to be seen as a natural part of life and the gateway to eternal life.
Sr Zita Nain has been a Tertiary Sister of St Francis, living and being guided by the spirituality of St Francis for 54 years.
At 54 years in Religious life she embraces death, the natural part of life.
At 72 years of age the gateway to eternal life opens for her.

The first event marking the tear-filled celebration of her departure was a wake keep Mass at 4pm of Friday the 6th of September this 2024 by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Kumbo, mgsr Oliver Shey, at the Convent of the Sisters in Shisong and participated in by her biological family, the Shisong Parish Family, the staff of the hospital complex and some students of the Catholic School of Health Sciences Shisong.
Another Mass was celebrated at 6pm and another at 11pm and another at 5:30am, each participated in by the different communities that make up the larger community of the TSSF here in the now St Francis Province of the TSSF.
Next morning, Saturday the 7th of September, the provincial leadership team led a group of Sisters and workers to the farewell home for the removal of Sr Zita's remains.
An office of the dead was said for her.
Her remains were viewed.
Whenever a Tertiary Sister is caught up be death which St Francis says none of us can escape, the Leadership team carries out what is called the TSSF Funeral rite.
It involves reading a poem under the title " Miss me but let me Go." [Sr Uche]
