As a Singaporean, we hate living here as much as the commenters hate travelling here. It feels so cramped, the interesting facilities that are actually worth visiting cost SO. MUCH. MONEY. Urbanization has destroyed most of our nature, and we are losing our culture to soulless infrastructure (our other islands are a prime example of this). Plus, it's stressful to work here, because high costs = high standards of living = poor people are failures and rich people get prioritized.

I visited Singapore 5 years ago and i was like "wow i want to live here". But after a few days i realized that Singapore is too small but too developed so that people there must work so hard to pay for their own space 😅
In my opinion, Thai people already have tourist attractions, so they want to visit modern cities like Singapore, Korea, Japan, instead of going to the sea or the beautiful mountains that they already have.

I think it's depends on the age of interwiewees. Most of teenager like to see modern architechture and this vlog interviewed only teenager at the same place. So the answer are almost the same.

I'm Indonesian, I've been to Singapore and Thailand once before. I prefer Thailand tho, the places in Thailand just feels more alive imo, and personally I wanna go to the Philippines one day
Singapore is more of a man made country as in Most of the environment you can go to are Concrete, Which is why I prefer both Thailand and Philippines as Nature is their treasure.

I'm Singaporean, and honestly I really want to travel to Thailand
Been to Singapore, its boring, too clean, too neat, too artificial, not my cup of tea, i love something more adventurous, i prefer the Philippines, Vietnam or Malaysia, I'm Indonesian btw. Even if i had to choose between Manila or Singapore to visit, I will definitely pick Manila.

I personally believe Philippines has SO many different cities and beaches to explore all with very unique cultures
For those who havent been to Singapore, its understandable that it came out as the first choice among others. Because Singapore is well known for its cleanliness, modern society, awesome buildings and structures and city life. But its a small country and you can only visit and do so much. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes boring because you can only go to so much places and see the same things again and again. It gets too artificial, not much nature in there as well. For me, its not a place where you would want to go visit again and again. I prefer countries like Indonesia and Thailand, where the combination of everything is present, and would make you want to visit again and again, you wont get tired and find boring after a long time.

Yeah your right singapore is a small country that is almost thesame as the size of davao city here in phil. That is one of the reason why its a developed country.

Singaporean here, Singapore is very small, it does not have natural resources. Almost everything is man made . All the tourists places you just have to visit once. It gets boring after a while. But but what we can offer, is an insight to what a country can become if there are rule of law, Human Resources(education)and no corruption. By the way, F1 on sept and Ti 11 on oct happening soon. I’m Indonesian, and I’ve been to Malaysia and Thailand once. I’ve also been to Singapore a few times. I found these three countries to be unique and interesting, and I did enjoy my visits there. The next ASEAN country that I would really like to visit is the Philippines! I think the country is one of SE Asia’s hidden gems. 💎

I want to go to Indonesia because it has thousands of islands, I like the Balinese culture and want to see volcanoes and their ancient temples in Java island.
Bali and West Papua are the best place, especially the west papua since the lands is very beautiful and clean not like the rest of Indonesia

I’ve been working in Singapore for 6 months. I was so excited and so impressed in my first month there. Everywhere is so clean and modern. Beautiful park everywhere. Good shops and everything is so expensive. Always visit new places in my off day every week. USS, Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Marina Bay, Orchard, you named it. I had to be so careful to do anything in public area because the rules are everywhere and so strict. If you broke it, then there will be a FINE. Then my 2nd month, I found Singapore quite boring to me. No more new place to explore. Everyday is just like copy paste. You can predict what’s gonna happen tomorrow. And made me feel like a robot in the country. The buildings are amazing but everything in Singapore is handmade and this handmade is make us boring. Sometimes I took bus to get to my workplace and I saw a lot of signs that actually telling us not to enter the woods/jungle or you’ll be shoot. Make me realize that even our movement is so limited in this country. Kind of pressure I guess. For those who born and raised there, they’ll fine with it. For expat, make sure you have good income to enjoy living there. For rich Singaporean, they flaunt it. For average Singaporean, I guess they have no choice but must work really hard.

that's how you take care of your country. The rules should be strict and people should be disciplined. unlike philippines, they take everything for granted. they think their assets are unlimited so they don't know they slowly destroying the country.

I’m Italian and visited most Asian country Thailand , Singapore, Vietnam , Indo , Malaysia , Philippines, India , South Korea , Taiwan , HK and many more but out of all the countries I’d been too the Philippines is by far the best … the food , the culture, the city life , the island life you’ll find everything you need in every city and island in that country. People speaks English really good, the most friendliest people I’ve met and everyone loves to sing. When it comes to food Vietnam and Thailand is also good.

I'm a Filipino and I haven't been to any countries, but if I'd have opportunity to come to an Asean country, I will choose Thailand. The tourist spots are so beautiful no wonder Bangkok is second of the most visited city in the world. If I'll travel someday in Asia, I'll go to Thailand first. Near and close to our culture.
Most of Thai people praise Singapore as an ideal to develop the country, and Thai people want Thailand to be developed country like Singapore. These are reasons why many Thai people want to travel to Singapore.
But for me, as a Thai, I want to travel to Indonesia, the country that is full of cultures and nature.

For a week I'd go to Singapore, for a year I'd go to Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. There's nothing much to do in Singapore but eat and do leisure which you can do in any country.

Previously I've been to Thailand (Hatyai & Songkhla), Malaysia (Johor, KL & Penang), and Singapore (Merlion, Garden by the bay, universal studio). But I'm not satisfied because I haven't had the chance to eat delicious foods from these countries.

Thailand is in south east asia but you guys may know we grow up with anime, Japanese and Korean series so I have no idea what other countries around here have. And Thailand is undeveloped country so I think people prefer to visit cities and go shopping. But I’m sure south east Asia is absolutely beautiful. I think about beach, caves and islands.
As a Filipino, I have visited Singapore, Thailand (2x), Vietnam, Malaysia (2x) and haven' visited, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos yet. But given a chance again, I would visit Vietnam just to eat streetfoods. Cheap country to travel to.

In the past, many people wanna go to Thailand beacuse of culture, shopping, beach and etc. But , today Thai BL is one of the reasons.
I'm Filipino and I've only visited Thailand(which I totally enjoyed) in all of ASEAN countries. But there some places that I've also been to but outside the ASEAN which are Macau (25-30x), and Hong Kong(10x). Being that said, I want to visit more countries especially in South East Asia to learn more about my neighboring countries.

Of the ASEAN countries, only East Timor, Brunie and SG I have yet to visit. I'm more into nature and outdoors so SG is in the bottom of my list.

I love Universal Studios and their Garden by the Bay, their airport, that’s it.

My journey experience to visit around Asean nation; 2xVietnam,1x Filipina, 1xLaos, 1xCambodia and 2xThailand bcoz is cheapers country for travelers backpackers like me and also go to 3xMalaysia, 1x Brunai and 2xSingapore btw i'm come from Batam City close to Singapore, Indonesia 😊

I think thailanders have a high expectations for every country they want to visit...but indeed Singapore is one of safest country in Asia..if I have a chance to explore to ASEAN I want to visit Indonesia bcoz I heard they love Pinoy culture 🤗
It's not high expectations, it's practicality actually. They want to experience the efficiency and beauty of the place they want to visit and spend their time and money for. If u want to get and experience your hard earned money's worth, they want it safe, they want it clean, they want it convenient and comfortable.
Filipinos should have wealth mindset and stop settling for less most the time. They'd be okay even if it's not that safe, or clean just bcs it's cheap/easy. No offense.
@tinnieb3542 I think it's not about settling for less but for the adventure and different experiences. Filipinos wanted to visit some unique country with a very different culture than theirs and if we could visit all our ASEAN brothers we would.

You interviewed in shopping area. Reason why it is Singapore. Actually most of Thai visited Vietnam and Indonesia for their oversea trip. We also can visit Loas Cambodia and Myanmar easily by just cross the border as well.

Never visited any country within ASEAN other than Thailand. It was my first time to go outside of the country and that time Thailand is not that bustling like it was now. But one thing that made me love the place is the local sites. I am not really a city person. I love the countryside, the temples and for the short visit I have never enjoyed much of other things so I wanted to go back. Much more now that it gives me the feel of excitement as what I have for South Korea. Because of Thai BL industry hehehe I am more than motivated to go back and visit it again😂😂😂

Because Thai people like delicious food. and the weather that is the opposite of Thai (snow) disciplined people And Japan has a great influence in Thailand. industrial plant Electrical appliances, cars, Thai people are very Japanese as a model for the development of the country. as said (Thai people tend to like to go to developed countries. because of discipline such as Singapore and Japan)

Singapore is strict country with strict laws, this makes the people abide the law and not litter etc. But Singaporeans are not discripline like the Japanese, this is the difference, japanese have discipiline embedded into their character and culture while Singapore abide the laws just to not get into a trouble. Hence is why Japanese are very respectful and behaves when they visit other countries, which makes a lot of people like and respect the Japanese, while Singaporeans only behaves when they are in their country, once outside the country, their true nature comes out, eg. there has been so many videos of Singaporeans littering, peeing in public, horning cars and racing and cut q in traffic, stealing subsidize petrol for citizens while being in Malaysia. You can search a lot of such videos online.
I am from Beijing and have been to Singapore twice. yes it is a great and advanced country, everything is well organized and people obey the rules. but I felt it lacks of something. I can't feel very relaxed there but I have such feeling in Thailand. may be I am not suitable for countries like Japan and Singapore, too many rules and restrictions. I enjoyed staying in France, Greece, Italy and Thailand much better🤪🤩

I went to Singapore and there really not much if your looking for culture since I feel like when walking the streets it has Chinese vibe sorry idk Singapore history but the country is def very modern clean and secure very easy to communicate since English is also main language and the people has the ASEAN trait of being the friendliest in the world
Not true, Singaporeans many are Karens and grouchy most of the time and they like to be angry a lot of times when they drive lol and horn for no reason, all these makes the country a stressful place. In fact Singaporeans are different from other Asean people who are more kind, tolerant, can give and take and friendly. You probably go by your experience as a tourist and not stay in Singapore long enough to know the people and environment. There's even a foreigner living in Singapore who made a not so nice but reality of her experience in Singapore, and she got bombarded and attack by Singaporeans.

If you want to come here in the Philippines,then you must Visit "Siargao" it's definitely more beautiful than Cebu.

As someone living in singapore..I dont recommend you guys to come here if you are a budget traveller or an adventurous person..everything is freaking expensive here and not much to be explore here.Just a few days here and you will be bored.

been to SIngapore and Malaysia, my Thailand trip was cancelled so definitely really need to have it soon, then straight to Cambodia then to visit ANgkor wat... then go straight to Vietnam... also Indonesia as well as it is ASEAN's biggest economy..
I've been to Singapore. It was clean, paceful, safe, and entertaning. But Singapore is just a place to visit for me once or twice a year. I can't live there, it's too dull for me. I prefer nature over busy city. I enjoyed the laid back setting of Sabah and Borneo for a week than my stay in SG for 3 days.
