They look scary, but I have friends who used to run up and sit in them. Don't know if it was the best idea in retrospect, but it was pretty funny.
Yeah i guess you'd only get dirty and get dust in ur eyes
It could be dangerous if it was really strong XD
I'm sure everyone has seen when leaves twirl around like a dust devil when it is windy
Yeah
Theres so many of them where i live
@@_rakshas_ they are everywhere lol all the litter in my school always spins in circles and in autumn the leaves do it too and it’s not dust devils because i live in england
@@pttpsyt in the place where i live dust devils are insanely big and cool
@@pttpsyt and also i never saw dust devils on the uk
Me: sees dust devil
Also me: runs into it
Do you keep your eyes closed?
Same.
😆
I thought these were actual tornados as a kid and flipped out when I saw one lol
Hahah me too, especially as a kid it seems even bigger lol.
Ive been down at the swamp in Australia right now, and like 5 minutes ago a water devil ripped thru the swamp lol. Best thing ive seen all month haha. And i was able to get literally withing 3 Meters (9 feet) it was amazing
They are actually a form of a tornado.
@@derekzaleski3143 wrong dust devil are not the form of a tornado do research before you say something
Right
Are they dangerous?
I feel like I’m missing one of these in my life
Says a literal tornado
I just want a mini tornado in my yard
I saw a dust devil swallow an entire restaurant before, no damage but it was cool
we have tornado and storm chaser and all kinda natural distractions speaking out here
@@burningtank160
Put a leash on it.
I read about them, so I knew that they weren't actual tornadoes. There's a thing that happens with forest fires where sometimes a vortex will appear. I think they're called firestorms.
You even see it in camp fires.
yeah it happened in carr California it turned into an EF3
It also happens in intense blizzards
when it snowed really bad and then two days later it falls off in these giant swirls literally so scary
that is huge! that is absolutely *KUUUGGE!*
*KEEEEEWWWWL*

As someone who lives near these I just wanna fly into it make myself a dustarrito of bliss the harder it blows the better.
Basically dust devils are mini desert tornadoes
Not just the desert.....any open land
It's not really mini cause if two strong dust devil collide it will become a strong tornado that can break houses and can pick you up
@@Lee-3-1 there a source for this or has this ever happened and been recorded?
@@grayman1 Well yes it might have happen before perhaps but I don't think there was strong technology to have an evidence of it
It can't be mini-tornado because a tornado is emerging from a supercell thunderstorm
I love how they all went to mars to film this!
Mars dust devils! Very cool!
@Mystical Luna Melody I can only imagine!
You still alive?
This all goes back to the hot water in my bath tub on a sunny day. Like the swimming pool water, but the hot tub water is hot, and the water more active. When I turned the faucet off and look at the flow of the hot water, u can see the water kneading itself like a flour dough. Some areas starts to form little cyclones for no reason
This is amazing, first time I saw these!
Just drove down a mountain in arizona. And saw two HUUUGE 👐🏻 ones out in the city.
Hopefully the perseverance will lead to better quality videos of these
wish this segment was longer
The Martian sky is actually blue. It is only red because of the dust, but sometimes it settles out.
This guy is the real life tornado chaser from Twister 😂
3:33 'No real reason?' There are strong winds on Mars. I suspect these cause most of the dust in the atmosphere.
Some can even possibly be 80 mph winds that’s same powerful as Ef0
I find them so annoying. They damage my power cables so I always choose an area where there are none
I always wanted to ride in one of these
HERE IT COMES!
uploading this in 360p is just cruel. Pain, Agony even!
I saw a dust devil at my school. All the kids were running.
Kids: is that a tornado?
Me: that’s not a tornado it’s a dust devil
Wow! A dust Devil
Cool..., I've seen some with enough power to turn a parked car around, and few that tossed large metal trash dumpsters several yards from where they were.
That type of tornado with dust is an ef1
BACK UP!!!
Johnny Teisco reed timmer quote
there was tornado in my school during boys scout
That was scary
WTH was the guy doing at 2:06? Is HE the new Turrets guy?!
"not everyone does that" lmao
LOL that killed me! That dude takes his job too seriously.
Be careful!!
Should we study dust devils on Mars?
Onetime I saw two of them right next to each other.
WOAH THAT THING IS HUGE
Some high strength dust devils can equal weak tornadoes
wow
Dust Devils are ridiculous. We get them in McGregor range.
This guy sounds like ROSS ,from F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Does she know where you can get them for you
@fathom26 he has very loose body language throughout the clip. During 2:06 you see him jumping back, most likely from when someone asks him about it [he jumps back to symbolize shock] then explain most people feel shock and fear of a possible tornado.
Hope that helps? ;]

Click bait in 2010??
That is incredible!! I still don't understand, say heat and no wind causes a dustdevil. So, if someone started a fire mid day/clear/stale air-- would one be created?? It seems like the dust devil not only keeps the air dusty but if air doesn't really move, dustdevils are needed to circulate oxygen to the plants right? Or maybe it's nature's way of pulling in water because higher altitudes are cooler and cool weather brings down water and oxygen which animals/people and plants need?? And if dust is in the air then dust can hook to water otherwise dry heat and no dust creates no chance of life??? That's my theory
Or... It doesn't make sense for heat to create wind. What if hot areas suddenly hit water. Tornadoes are hot +cold so... What if super hot areas on the ground meet a giant ice cube that melts super fast. Could that make a dust devil???
@@ArmChairMissions heat from the ground makes air rise, once it’s too for from the ground it cools, causing it to move around, heat causes wind.
Bro's on mars💀
Did I miss why they're anti-cyclonic?
Mamia🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Martian
Wait there the first people on mars
Back when there were no drones
What you said is not only wrong, it’s stupid.

Who would name their child u?
Brandi Sodemann yes
No, they can not.
u you mean, most are very weak and you only hear stories of a strong one...
so the rock an roll music was what? Did you understand anything about Dust Devils? Try to explain it ? Just asking. The music was kind of funny, though, but one sentence is a waste of my time. Why?
I don’t think that they are actually on mars
Epic O:
Very epic

Mhmmm yummy
Driving that pickup truck all over the place is stirring up more dust than would be there if they weren't contributing. Hardly a truly scientific comparison with the Dust Devils on Mars.
I'm Steve, the truck driver. We keep close track of wind direction, approach dust devils from the correct direction, have sensors out on booms and masts to remove any truck influence. But the fact is, most dust devils will pass over entire houses and not appear to be affected in the slightest. And terrestrial dust devils are EXACTLY the same process as those on Mars. But your hasty and shallow uninformed opinion is always, um, "valuable"...
