    What material do you use to patch the damaged area and where do you buy it. I have the chips from the time I had my whole garage done,

      In the video we used polyaspartic. If you have a small area to repair you can just use a clear polyaspartic and the flake color you have. If you reach out to these guys they should be able to get you a small sample kit of polyaspartic for your repair. I recommended their "aspartic 85 slow go." Very easy to work with floorguardproducts.com/

    I got an epoxy floor that has a slight slope that is about three feet wide which brings water near a base heater. How could I raise...or level...that small section to prevent the water from moving? Thanks.

      Are you familiar with toweling? You could either use a self leveling product to fill the low spot and level out the area or you could use a mortar to build up the area and slope it away from the heater.

    i am cleaning a dealership with high priced cars. epoxy floors no flakes clear coat with design. floors are scratched up and have tire marks. how hard is it to maintain these floors in order to leave them spotless and clean like if they have been just finished.. do you need to sweep every time before moving these cars and what product can you use to remove the tire marks without damaging the floors. spray nine is a strong de greaser would this damage the floors?

      An epoxy floor without any media (such as flake or sand) in it will scratch and abrade easier. If the area is getting a lot of daily traffic you should clean it more often to remove any dirt and debris that can abrade the surface. Mopping the floor daily will help to keep the debris down from the daily traffic and every once in a while (maybe one a month) do a thorough cleaning of the entire area. The top coat on the floor will make a huge difference on how the easily the floor scratches and abrades as well. We always recommend a urethane or polyaspartic be used over an epoxy system because they are designed with more chemical and scratch/abrasion resistance. If the floor is getting scratched up enough you can most likely bring it back to life by having someone come in and sand the floor with a fine sandpaper or sanding screen to abrade the surface then apply a clear urethane over the floor. I'm not familiar with spray nine. Id recommend you test it in an inconspicuous area to see if it affects the finish. I've heard a lot of people say they like cleaning with ERC which is designed for resinous coatings. You can check them out here.. www.epoxyresinouscleaner.com/

    How to I fix a similar sized burn damage from firework sparks on a solid color epoxy flooring on a balcony?

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to say without seeing it. Just a burn may not be that bad. We've had burn from welding sparks before on our floors. I was able to sand most of the burn marks out. If you're able to sand the burn mark out without sanding off the coating entirely, you can clear coat the area with a resinous urethane or polyaspartic coatings. If you're not able to sand it off you'll have to fix the area with a tinted urethane. Sherwin Williams sells a urethane called Rexthane 1 (depending on the state you live in) you can use and they're able to custom tint the color.

    I have Ben patching with Rust-Oleum concrete patch and repair it is very hard to get this smooth then I am going to use primer and then put the Rock solid on top is all these uneven waves and Chip fills and high low spots going to be covered up?

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never used rustoleum’s patch material so I can’t comment on that. You’ll definitely want to get all of your pits and cracks patched before laying the coating. Another patch material you may try is bondo. It dries very quickly and then you can sand it smooth. The coating you’re applying may help to fill imperfections, but it will depend on how bad the damage is and how thick you apply the coating. I hope this helps.

    Is this the way you repair bubbles if formed in the polyaspartic top coat randomly? I have a job that outside the recoat window and is cured but i have about 15 bubbles. Would you still see them if sanded and recoat polyaspartic in low level lighting? Or should i deglaze the whole floor with pads and sand to deglaze and recoat?

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can try to repair the bubbles with this method. Make sure to sand the bubbled areas very well to help blend with the rest of the floor. There's a very good chance you will notice the areas you touched up, but repairs normally blend well with traffic over time.

      Rust can be hard to remove unfortunately if the item was left to sit long enough. You might try to spray the area with WD40 let it sit for a minute then scrub the area to see if that loosens up the dirt. We've had a little bit of luck with this method in the past.

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure I entirely understand the question. Do you mean a chunk or glob of epoxy or a chunk of something like a rock that got stuck while the coating was curing?

    Had a random 1ft hairline crack open up at the expansion joint in the garage. What would cause something like that and what would you recommend as a fix?

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      expansion joints are put in to allow the slab to move and help prevent cracking elsewhere, so when you fill and coat them its common to cracking due to the movement of the concrete on the joints. I'd leave it alone for now. If you repair it, theres a good chance it will crack again. If it continues to crack, Id re cut the joint and put a flexible material (e.g. polyurea) in its place.

      @@columbusepoxyflooring7400 thanks for the response! My only concern was leaving it unsealed was with winter coming water getting into cracks and causing further damage.

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jkin5351 If its a hairline crack I wouldn't worry about water getting in and freezing. There is a decent chance the crack will open up more due to the nature of the concrete. I'd recommend keeping an eye on it and if it gets bad enough, repair it how I mentioned ealier. We actually had what youre asking about happen to a control joint in our shop. I'm hoping to get time to get a video out that shows how you can repair the control joints when they crack.

    Next time patch that hole with a epoxy patch, sprinkle the flake into the wet patch. You need to build that hole up.

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the hole is deep enough, I agree. Filling up the hole too much will create a raised area and make the patch much more noticeable.

    Can you do a video on how to remove yellow stain on epoxy floor? I parked my BMW in the garage, the break dust mixed with rain discolored it. Thanks.

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quick question. Is the entire area of the garage yellowed or is it yellowed just around where you park the car? Some times if the proper top coat isn't used sunlight can yellow and discolor the top coat over time as well.

    • @samedy
      @samedy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@columbusepoxyflooring7400 Thanks for the reply. There are four yellow stain spots where the car tires make contact with the floor. Other area is fine. Can you recommend a product to get rid of the stain? Thank you!

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For now I would try a cleaning solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water. Let the solution sit on the areas for a couple minutes. If you're unable to scrub the yellow out you may have to recoat the yellowed area.

    How would you go about fixing a spark/burn on an epoxy garage floor? Electric dirt bike caught on fire and totally ruined the floor ☹️ is there an easier way other than sanding the whole thing and redoing? 🫣

    • @columbusepoxyflooring7400
      @columbusepoxyflooring7400  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It'll depend on how deep the burn is in the coating. You might be able to sand the burn out and clear coat it again, but unfortunately it sounds like you'd be better off to just have the floor recoated entirely.
