  • @YensR
    @YensR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +56

    2:58 You are probably right, but it struck me that for me as someone who grew up with studded Technic, the combination of System bricks and Technic bricks used to be the default for the simple MOCs I built. And when I returned to the hobby I struggled with all the new system bricks not really interfacing all that well with the new technic bricks.

      I understand Technic has become hyper-specialized, but I really wish system and technic were integrated more often tbh.

    I love seeing you gush over a well-engineered set like that. I've considered the Bugatti and Lambo, but this looks the most solid, thought out and one that lets you appreciate what went into it. But that price... One to wait for the 20% sale! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    Being lucky enough to have gotten all of the large technic cars thus far, comparing this others to the others truly is a step above - like you said in the video, the evolution is great. Probably my favorite detail though is that the rims are physically larger than the previous exclusives, and the tire treads are a lot sportier as well.

    I’m really not a technic guy at all (aside from loving Bionicle...) but it’s spectacular to see this set, and it’s absolutely gorgeous and shows a really impressive level of part development like you said. That does put a certain perspective on the premium price of Lego - someone could be a fan of pure technic, and get so much value

  • @Joramee

    Didn't expect you to review this, but thanks! Love the rims on this vehicle, and they really improved the shaping since the Sean. Still out of my price range but it's beautiful.

    Watched this video a few times. Always love your great content and analyses. This was the first Lego set I had purchased in decades and I went full-out on my reintroduction, per the recommendation of the folks at my local Lego store haha. I’ve blown thousands of dollars since on technic models, creator expert vehicles, UCS sets, and speed champions, amongst others. I’m not even a Star Wars fan and I bought some of their UCS sets too. This darn addiction. That said, thanks for always bringing us great content Jang!!!

      It is definately priced for adults. I have a hard time justifying $400 for plastic when you can buy a new game system for the same price. That said, I've been playing with Technic and Model Team sets since the early 90s and can't help but love what they have accomplished here.

    To combat the ongoing frustration of the obnoxious blue pins that are sticking out everywhere in these high-end kits, I've decided to purchase an equal amount of black pins to replace them as I build the thing. Great review as always!

    Never expected a review for this on the channel but really happy to have gotten one the all the same. Also never expected it to be frustration free though that is really good to hear as I'm also no Technic specialist Despite being completely out of my spending budget it's still a spectacular design/display model. Given the positive outcome overall would love for you to tackle more Technic orientated builds on the channel. Really looking forward to the new airbus helicopter though it too is quite expensive though not quite as much as this one.

    Jang you're right on point about the pins. I haven't built Lego in a long time but there was a time where blue and tan pins DID IN FACT come in black for high friction and light grey for low friction. So yeah not only does Lego have the ability to make those pieces in other colors they actually did at one point. I of course understand the need for there to be a color distinction but the blue and tan pieces are just obnoxious.

    My only problem is that it just looks a bit too thick, or tall, or however you put it. It looks heavy. Supercars don't look heavy, they look quick. But I love all the functions. I wonder if there is another sets with the same functionality I might consider that one.

    Lego gears ARE Mod1 :)
    A 40-tooth gear has a working diameter of 40mm etc.
    With Lego's stud/hole pitch of 8mm it's why there are many gears with multiples of 8 teeth.
    Mod1 has a tooth ptch of pi (π) mm, so a 10-tooth straight rack should be 31.416mm long, which is fudged to fit a 32mm 4x1 rack plate.

    Excellent and honest review once again, thank you. Nothing to see with the Lego set, but it looks like you have more and more Gundam kits on the shelves behind you, 1/100 and 1/144 ones. You fell into Gundam universe long ago? I have slown down my Lego purchases quite a lot for the past two years, and turned more and more to Gunpla, which offer more building time oob and large place for customization, as I have purchased an airbrush and all the necessary tools for painting them. Quite a time consuming hobby too, and even if some gunpla kits are quite expensive, I feel more and more like I get more for the price with them than with my Lego sets. See you soon

    For a high end model, I also agree that those blue pins should not be present, at that price, it needs to look as realistic as possible, but the model itself looks great for sure, the price is certainly forbidding for many, but once you have it, you will probably leave it built and display it, because it does look great, a very nice Ferrari!

    I don't know there's something about this set that I'm not keen on, maybe it's my liking of the actual car but that asking price also factors into my disliking. The build seems interesting and all but I believe the gearbox is near identical to the Sians which is very disappointing if true and I don't like the door opening function as the way in which you have to carry it out is awkward to me and the Sian's was executed better. I still think the Sian is the best model they've made in the price range and the whole marketing and presentation was way better and had more thought put into it this to me is a lackluster set.

It would be a very good idea. and we wouldn't have to pay those high prices for all that garbage they send.

    Sorry, but after putting older Technic sets, I am keeping being dissapointed by nowadays Technic sets.
    They are so expensive and I would even say OVERenginered. I also heard this one is REALLY fragile.
    This set has like 5 propper functions, while good old 8865: Test Car also has 5 for like 1/4 of price and you can actually see them working nicely.

    • @mbphilipblack8993
      @mbphilipblack8993 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I've seen that trend to with the technic line, there more for display and looking accurate as compared to being good enough but solely functional and the lack of motorisation is disappointing.
      What is that 8865 set adjust for inflation as it might equal out to the current price of these 250-400 sets?

    For $400 you can buy a very good scale model. Sure it’s Lego, but most people won’t break it down and build it again. You’ll build it once and then it sits there. Better buy a big scale model. It takes less space and have much more details.
