UZBEKISTAN | The most beautiful country on the silk route?

- Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia and is a former Soviet state. Originally part of the Silk Route, Uzbekistan is famous for its incredible architecture and it has UNESCO world heritage sites that aren't overrun by tourists!
In this Uzbekistan vlog I travel to Samarkand and explore Registan Square, visit Bukhara and Tashkent. I also go into the countryside of Uzbekistan and try the cuisine before visiting Lake Charvak, a stunning lake surrounded by mountains.
If you're thinking of travel to Uzbekistan, I can't recommend it highly enough for people who want to see somewhere different, or for adventurous travellers / backpackers.

Yeah the architecture was amazing
In regards to mentioned "magic" , not really a magic but a beautiful symbolism, 40 stairs up lead to spiritual transformation on the top of Shakhi Zinda . Everyone who enters the complex starts counting stairs up and down. The legend says, that, when the number of stairs matches on the both ways, the person can be considered free from sin.

I wouldn't have guessed it'd be that cold in Uzbekistan either. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan YES, but Uzbekistan is mostly flat, so I thought temperature would be like in UAE or Egypt in winter. This is good to know. It's good that the place is void of tourists. Probably not many tourists go there because of strict visa regime. But definitely an underrated place

The mountain where you stopped on the way to Shakhrisabz has the best cheese balls "Qurut" in Uzbek. Ak-Saray means White Palace btw. Great video miss my country and hometown.

Hi! My name is Gulnora and I live in Uzbekistan. Nowadays everybody prefer to travel Italy, France and so on. But nobody knows about the beauty of our historical cities like Samarkand, Khiva, Bukhara, Tashkent. They r really outstanding and beautiful. I really advice u to visit my homeland.
Great video! I am from Uzbekistan originally. Yes, Uzbekistan is truly Hidden Gem in the Central Asian region, and really has not been discovered so far by tourists because it was kind of closed country before, but after the president changed in 2016, it started opening up to the world, and added a lot of countries for visa free entry. Uzbekistan was in the heart of the Silk Road and at some point the ancient cities Such as Samarkand (which was established in 8th century BC, more than 2700 years old) Bukhara and Khiva which were a cultural centers of Ancient Civilization at some point, has a lot of historical monuments, mausoleums, great food and friendly hospitable people. I would recommend everyone to visit, you won't regret...! And it does not cost you arms and legs in the terms of money.
The visa on arrival/ visa free was a great move. It's honestly a hidden gem you're so right...I really want to visit again...any recommendations?
@@AlexOuthwaite Honestly, there are so many great places to visit there, seems like you visited all major cities. Have you been in Bibi Khanum mausoleum which Tamerlan built specifically for his beloved wife and named after her? Al Bukhari mausoleum? Shakhi Zinda? Tashkent, there is a beautiful ski resort in Chimgan near Tashkent, the list goes on and on..., if you find a right guide there they will take you everywhere...

Obviously I did eat it but when I'm there for filming there's a limit to how much time I get to film for my TH-cam. This was all filmed before I even owned a proper go pro so the quality isn't great
