The 2024 Yonah Mountain 50k / 10k Vertical Challenge: Trail Race & Ultra Running Georgia

Join us on an epic journey as Kyle and I take on the grueling challenge of the 2024 Mt Yonah Vertical Race! This ultra event, set amidst the breathtaking Yonah Mountain in Georgia, promises 50k of pure elevation gain and unforgettable moments.
The race, organized by Team Summit, offers two options: 5,000ft of climbing over 3 summits (roughly 25km) or the ultimate challenge of 10,000ft over 6 summits (50km). With technical trails, steep ascents, and exhilarating descents, this race is not for the faint-hearted. The course, starting from the Yonah Mountain Trailhead, presents runners with rocky terrains, rooty paths, and even sections requiring scrambling over boulders.
Despite the grueling challenge, the event is flawlessly organized, thanks to the amazing race directors. And don't miss out on the after-party at NoFo Brew Co, just 2 miles from the trailhead, where we'll celebrate our triumphs and share tales of the trail!

🕒 Schedule:
6:30 AM: Packet Pickup available
8 AM: 10k’ Race Start
9 AM: 5k' Race Start
4 PM: Must have started final lap!
6 PM: Course closed
6:30 PM: After-party at NoFo Brew Co

Hey man I am new to any kind of foot race and I signed up for 2025 race. Do you have any recommendations for must have gear? I imagine nothing is nessesary but some things could be nice.
